She did one episode. This one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-9tnGFJX_w

She married since then though, so that's not my surname.

Jem has one awesome opening song.

The other one is awful.

It's shocking.

That's awesome that you have a writer for a mom (even though it was for only one episode). For the short time that I was in the Girl Guides I met this girl whose dad was an animator for The Magic School Bus so I know how exciting it is to know someone who has a family member in the animation industry.

Which one?

Here's an interesting fan opening.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0iEScFn ... re=related

And I agree with the author.

Edit:
Currently watching the Misfits

They kind of remind of Kesha for some reason.

You know what I always found funny? How in the music videos it seems like every guy is lusting over Pizzazz but when its 'in' the show they prefer Jem!

I hadn't noticed that before. My taste in music has changed. I usually hated when the Misfits performed. Now I think they are actually better than Jem and the Holograms.

And Pizzazz was a spoiled brat. So the music videos kind of reflect her personality and desires. I'd rather not give any spoilers for now.

OMG who's this???

I would imagine Pizzazz would look like this if Jem ever gets remade into a more "real-ish" cartoon.

I know it sucks..but whatever. Deal with it. lol.

A lot of 80's US cartoons were animated by Toei.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toei_Anima ... ction_work

I don't think the list is complete. I think GI Joe and Gobots were also done by Toei.

Challenge of the GoBots was done by Hanna-Barbera

Yes. But I think they also outsource. Can't remember the credits though since I haven't watched the series in such a long time.

Edit:
Yes they did outsource to Toei.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanna-Barbera
Quote:
Throughout all of this, both Hanna-Barbera and Ruby-Spears were subject to the financial troubles of parent company Taft Broadcasting, which had just been acquired by the American Financial Corporation in 1987 and had its name changed to Great American Broadcasting the following year. Many of the business deals were overseen by CEO of Taft Broadcasting, Charles Mechem. Along with much of the rest of the American animation industry, Hanna-Barbera had gradually begun to move away from producing everything in-house in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Much of the Hanna-Barbera product was outsourced to studios in Australia and Asia, including Wang Film Productions, Cuckoo's Nest Studios, Fil-Cartoons, Mook Co., Ltd., and Toei Animation.

I'm assuming you mean Spanish? Because at first I thought you actually meant Latin (like, the language of ancient Rome) and I was like, "THAT MAKES NO SENSE, BUT IS AWESOME P-: "

I didn't realize Kimber and Stormer were a pair until I read a youtube comment just now.

Why did you feel the need to add that line, Pizzazz, if not to basically make their love canon?

A truly wonderful 80's cartoon series. =^_^=

The new generation of kids should watch it instead of those IQ draining unhealthy low quality tasteless cartoons like Sponge Bob and Adventure Time. :evillaugh:

I can talk about the movie right? I never watched the show, but I did see Nostalgia Critic's review of the movie. Here's what I posted on another forum a while ago:

I just watched Nostalgia Critic's review last night, and I can safely say that the movie will absolutely disappoint both fans and non-fans. As someone who has never watched the cartoon before (though I did do some basic research via Wikipedia and TV Tropes to get the gist of the series before watching the review), here are my problems with the film:

- The plot is both convoluted and predictable at the same time
- All the characters are all dull, lifeless, and/or unlikable
- The editing is a little too frantic and random in spots
- Millennials are shown in a negative, cliched light. As a Millennial myself (technically Gen Z, but quite a few sources say 1996 is an acceptable Millennial birth year), I felt insulted to say the least.
- There is little to no resemblance to the source material

The one thing that solidified my hatred for the film was the shameful editing of the fans' submitted footage. For those who don't know, I'll fill you in. Fans were asked to send the filmmakers videos describing why they like Jem and what the show meant to them. These videos were included in the film itself, but not in the way you'd expect. Instead of playing the unedited footage either during the opening or the credits, the videos were interspersed throughout the movie and manipulated to make it seem like the fans are talking about the Jem in the movie instead of the cartoon. Even though I'm not a fan of the show, this still outraged me all the same.

Yes. The film. :dead:

The only thing good about it from what I heard from a youtube reviewer was Kesha as Pizzazz who only had a few seconds to appear at the end of the film. :orly:

Putting the rival at the end of the film doesn't make any sense.

Not really a Stingers fan.

So far this is really the only single I like from them.

Well, it's about this 1980s girl rock band that has a lead singer with a secret identity.

There's a rival girl rock band that's always out to get them, because apparently only one band is allowed to be successful or... something.

Right before every commercial break (I think two or three per episode?) assurances obsèques, our heroine, Jem, finds herself falling off a ski lift, trapped in a burning building, caught in an explosion, nearly getting plowed over by a runaway vehicle, etc.

There are at least 3 songs per episode, the majority of which are surprisingly awesome.

Most episodes, we get to watch Jem/Jerrica being jealous of herself and chasing after her obnoxious and borderline abusive boyfriend, usually while hysterically shrieking his name ("RIO!!!!!!!!")

And starting in the second half of season three, there's also the Stingers, a.k.a. "the greatest band that ever was." Starring Riot, who's sort of like Michael Bolton but with a better voice and the most fabulous hair any cartoon character has ever sported, and that includes Rapunzel.

I make fun, but it's only because I love it. It's fun, campy, and loltastic. And it's everything I loved about the 1980s as a child XD

Also, there are toys!

This anime really marked my childhood and I loved it. I always stood in front of the screen to wait for the broadcast.
