I'm watching Go! Princess Precure and Maho Girls Precure. I'm really enjoying Go!, and am already close to halfway through it. I'm liking Maho too, but not as much as Go! so far. I am a couple of episodes behind though, so maybe it's started picking up since. I also checked out the first episode of Smile Precure to compare to Glitter Force, but that was it. Not sure if I'll get around to watching anymore of it.

I'm in love Doki Doki Precure. I'm up to episode 15 currently.
I think my fellow Moonies here will like it too! Please check it out.

I love Laura Bailey's Emily. Hard to believe she voiced Lust from FMA. :eeklez:

I just got into this Pretty Cure series, but I have read that this anime series has various installments? Like it's latest one is it's thirteenth in the series. So what does that really mean? Why is each series different? I don't get it. Shouldn't it be like any other anime, like Pokemon has its variations of series, but it uses the same characters, this Pretty Cure series, has a new series with new characters, but why? I have been watching the English dub of the Glitter Force, which is a part of the Pretty Cure series.

The original "Futari Wa Precure" had a sequel series "Futari Wa Precure Max Heart", after that, the series had a reboot with "Futari Wa Precure SplashStar". Then a further reboot with "Yes! Precure 5", which also has a sequel.

When "Fresh! Precure" launched, they firmly adapted a "super sentai" style format of having a new story & team every year, and introduced an allstars film series.

So, aside from the sequels, none of the seasons are directly linked. Glitter Force is an adaptation of Smile! Precure, which Saban have split into 2 seasons (or parts).

If you're only interested in dubs, there is a pretty good dub of the original series.

It doesn't exactly need Max Heart since the first show didn't end on any kind of cliffhanger.

Maybe but it would've been nice to see it dubbed.

Wonder why Toei never got Futari Wa aired in the states? Or the dub streamed along with the subs?

Seems Glitter Force is coming back: https://twitter.com/MrChangeDragon/stat ... 6118637568

Hope Netflix gets another season (and fix that whole episode limit issue).

If Saban gets more then good luck because unless they skip seasons like with Power Rangers, they will be dealing with 2 straight seasons of crap.

Well, nobody said they had to go in order as far as we can tell. Maybe they'll go backwards (Futari Wa and Max Heart as exceptions).

I though DokiDoki was a decent watch, even though that was a while ago...

Glitter Force Season 2 is on Netflix. What episodes didn't make the cut, you ask? Well, I'd say it's more fun to find out for yourself.

And it seems Season 3 is guaranteed: https://www.linkedin.com/in/noam-kaniel-95619232

Quote:
"2016 :GLITTER FORCE 3 - 30 X 22 ( Saban Brands )"

Now as much as I love jumping to conclusions (spoiler alert: no I don't), I'm willing to give those numbers the benefit of the doubt since Season 3 could be the first half and Season 4 the second half of the next Pretty Cure on the chopping block (wow, poor choice of words there). It's similar in how Digimon Fusion had the first 30 episodes dubbed as Season 1 before Season 2 was soon listed on Noam's website as:

Quote:
"2014/15 : DIGIMON FUSION2 X 25 ( Saban Brands )"

So with luck, Saban learned their lesson with Smile Pretty Cure.

...

*sighs* These next few months are gonna be fun, aren't they?

so they have the original Pretty Cure on Crunchyroll and I started watching it I actually like it (I'm just grateful you don't see the girls in the nude when they transform) the characters are very likeable, the villain is a Kiss knockoff with a dirty sounding name XD what's not to like?

Why do I see this thread now? I am a huge PreCure fan and I can't wait for the new season because I absolutely hated MahoTsukai (sorry if there are any fans).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't enjoy MahoTsukai. I tried to like it, since it was the first Precure I followed as it aired in Japan. But I got so bored with it...I finally had to drop it after 16 or so episodes. ^_^'

But the new series already looks like a big improvement. (I've noticed the Precures with bigger casts tend to be stronger) I already LOVE the design of the red and purple Cures. I'll wait on confirmation before getting too excited, but the possibility of the guy behind Heartcatch returning would make me incredibly hyped.

The return of Go Princess Precure as head writer has me sold. I'm intrigued by the addition of Yuuki Hayashi too. I didn't care much for My Hero Academia (unpopular opinion, I know), but I was really impressed by his work there. I'm looking forward to seeing what he makes for this series, and appreciate the change of pace bringing a composer new to this franchise adds.

Hopes are low with this guy, he directed the second half of Saint Seiya Omega's second season after the second guy left to do the dreck that was Happiness Charge Precure and it sucked as much as the first half.

Reminder that season 1 of Omega >>>>> all of season 2

Good luck to him, if we don't get any creepy faces like Mistress 9 had in his episode of Crystal s3 then the whole show is a bust.

The characters already seem more interesting than Mahou Tsukai Precure, and it's exciting that Go Princess Precure's writer is onboard this season as GPPC had surprisingly strong writing. I'm not overly familiar with Kureta's work (aside from knowing bits about the drama surroudng Saint Seiya Omega) but I think Kaizawa is good when he's paired with a decent writer.

What's mostly caught my interest is that there are two older cures this time, Cure Chocolat and Cure Macaron, and that they're pretty obvious homages to Uranus and Neptune. I'm really curious how that's going to play out in the series.

Found something in the PreCure Wiki forum:
Fight scenes have been a sort of flower in the Pretty Cure series. However, in this season, the fights are shifting to something called Colorful Pop Battles instead of your usual fist fighting battles. Due to making sweets, the Cures will be using Cream Energy to fight brilliantly.

I'm starting to worry a little about the new series ^_^' I know fights are not everything but they are still part of the franchise. There is still hope, though. Fights with magical beams can be kickass too (think about Nanoha). I hope we won't get too many stock animation attacks.

There's also a rumor that the transformations are going to be in 3D.

Since GoPri had 3D attacks (which weren't that great... honestly), I wouldn't be surprised.
