Elementary and Middle School were hell for me I was picked on endlessly and I was the one usually in trouble for it because "Your Not Allowed To Stand Up For Yourself", as anytime I got picked on id stand up for myself then id be the one hauled into the principal's office and not my bully (especially in grade 7 when I snapped in class and went after my bully, we had a useless substitute teacher that day who did dick all about it)

At least you can defend yourself. I have to hide behind people sometimes if I see a female or sit somewhere else. I have had an instance where a girl sat next to me in a theater and I wanted to sit elsewhere but there were no empty seats :blue:

^^yeah but I wasn't allowed to defend myself and if I did I got in trouble and the bully walked free its thanks to my years of being bullied that made me into the coward I am today, true I had many great friends who stood up for me and I'm grateful for them I actually wonder what there up to today and if they still remember me

At least you aren't shy around females

I dated this female and was shy and quiet when I first met her...

What about in college? I got picked on in college and had a female flirt with me and dress really nice but I was shy around her

In my department there was almost no boys. And I was spending my free time at campus with my sworn sisters (when they're available) or at the library reading :D

Well... to combat that fear... identify a lady who is single and say to her:

"Hi, my name is _____________; what is your name? I hope I am not being too intrusive, but I want you to know that I think you are beautiful. Would like to have dinner or coffee with me sometime?"

It is simple like that.

You are not being impolite.

If she says "no," then politely thank her for her time and move onto the next girl.

Being polite, well-mannered, and courteous is the key.

I might be holding something against females. I had one in elementary school blow kisses at me and another who was out of my league cough up that she liked me...

Really? It just seems like such an imposition. Well, since I'm naturally polite I can give that a try.

I don't really know but I suspect I might have a mild form of Asperger's Syndrome, but to be honest I'm simply basing that off of what little I know about it from TV. Apart from that I've had bouts of adolescent depression and I used to have suicidal thoughts. By high school I joined dA and through my fractal art I gained a lot of self-confidence, but was still very much an introvert and frightened of girls. I'm a 28 year old virgin too, the closest I've had to a relationship is a crush from afar, I liked this girl in high school and my bloody timidness compelled me to not do anything for a year. By the time I decided to do anything I not only discovered that she had a boyfriend he was one of my best friends. I do like to find someone for myself but my crippling introversion makes me want to stay home and go on the net. Don't get me wrong I love it here but I'm here because I just can't approach people to talk, never mind a woman I'm interested in.
We all should met up. I think a good way to help each other could be to physically meet with each other and just talk.

I have Asperger's/high-functioning autism (basically the same thing - Asperger's is apparently a medically obsolete term now), and very well-managed depression and OCD. If I stopped taking my meds, I'd be a wreck and would probably do some very regrettable things to myself.

As a side note, I don't really know how to feel about having autism or just autism in general. I've largely accepted how it affects my life, but a lot of people I've met IRL who also have it make me cringe inside, usually because for whatever reason the ones I meet are really childish. I feel bad about thinking that (especially because I kind of like some of these people) but it's pretty much an automatic impression. *sweats profusely*

I'm all kinds of messed up. Used to struggle with depression, suicidal ideation, and self-injury. Nowadays I just have a lot of anxiety and people tell me I'm "too hard on myself" (whatever that means LOL).

Gonna send you a PM, Chris.

So for my problems I suffer from depression and schizophrenia. The later part hit me in university stress because I couldn't afford courses. Plus I was always picked on by others since grade school that I questioned positive feedback on my art. I'm surprised I didn't end up shooting up a school due to how bad I was treated in high school.

Mate, I totally get how you feel.
I used to be more introverted in high school than I am now, once I left school I got myself a job in retail, a choice I made in part to improve my sociability by forcing myself to talk to people. It can get very scary sometimes when a huge guy or an attractive woman walks up to you, or when you find yourself trying to calm down an angry person, but once you're confronted with a situation like that you just need to remain calm - if you need to, take a second to breath, think clearly for a moment what you want to say and say it. With enough practice you'll start to become more confident in your social skills, having done so myself I can attest to this. You just need to start practicing with ordinary people first until you can start a conversation and carry it on without any fear.
This is actually the reason I think all of us physically meeting is a good idea for everyone because it not only helps develop our social skills but there's the added bonus that we kinda already know each other, so we know how to talk to each other.

funny thing is I can talk to people just fine I deal with customers on a daily basis at the Salvation Army (everyone tells me I'm very good with the customers) but when it comes to asking out women (or flirting for that matter) I can't do it (unless were not face to face) which again is funny as hell as I talk to women all the time. I have several female friends (course they're more like sisters to me) and we talk all the time but there never was any attraction between us.

that's me in a nutshell really  course my face doesn't help anything  XD

Hm, okay. It sounds like you're at my stage now, I've got the same problem. The only thing I can say is you need to built up the courage to start asking out women. It's going to be hard and take a lot of time and a lot of risk, but really nothing worthwhile is ever anything less. I can give you moral support but ultimately you'll have to want to make the change yourself, I wish you the best of luck. :keke:

I sometimes used to hear voices even though no one was there. I also thought I was hearing people's thoughts and sensed hostility coming from them.

Voices are cool, I hear voices too... they like tell me to do stuff. Like stay home... and watch tv.
