I just finished my latest piece in my growing hobby of painting resin models.

I have here, Usagi Tsukino, in a 1/8th scale.

She consisted of 11 pieces, and had two alternate heads to choose from.

Took me about a week, if not slightly less. I like this one for the simplicity and the cute factor. ^_^

Looks pretty good, tho I think you should paint her mouth (but not overdoing it). :)

Hmm....that's not a bad idea, and I shouldn't have overlooked that, but I guess that's what happens when you finish your work late at night. Thanks Rika!

    Here's an update:

I like it. It looks good. I think you did a great job on it!

I know I don't have a steady hand to be able to do something like that.

    Thank you, both of you.

I have a bit of a drawing background, but I never did anything with paint till about two years ago. In addition to Sailor Moon, I'm also a huge fan of Project A-Ko, which lead me to buy a resin model of her as well. I had never tried anything like that before, and truthfully I wasn't happy with the those end results, and have since stripped the paint and tried again.

I did however practice a lot since than, and also have friends who are good with smaller details who I asked for help quite often till I became comfortable with it.

The big issue for me is the time it takes to get things done, as it's always easier to work on parts that are the same color on the same day. (For me anyways)

I couldn't figure out what model to start next, so tonight I went back and worked on something I've been meaning to take care of for a while now.

Here is my very first Sailor Moon model kit, of Sailor Venus, Super Sailor Venus if I remember right.

This kit is 11 pieces, and I added Artemis to compliment her, as well as complete her. Artemis came from a seperate collection of Sailor Moon cats that were on eBay a few months ago. I also took the liberty of painting her planet symbol on the display stand.

Also figured it would be cute to have her strike a pose with the actual Venus while I was taking the picture.

Thanks for looking, and hope you enjoy.

It's a very nice touch to put her figure besides that Venus statue, & the two look good together.

    Thanks again!

I love that statue, and I have the majority of the gods around the house. :)

I was thinking of posing the senshi next to their respective anytime I take a photo with a complete model...what do you guys think? Yay? Nay?

I also have Apollo next to her on my dresser and two Kwan Yins on top of my wardrobe. Though my Aphie is off white and painted with gold accents.

I don't know about anyone else but I would love to see the senshi paired with their respective deity. =^_^=

Here's the latest I've had time to photograph, a 1/7th scale model of Sailor Moon with a chibi style Luna that I did for a very good friend on her birthday.

This model has 16 pieces, and provided a few challenges to get done, but eventually was completed.

The chibi Luna was not included and came from an eBay auction that had only the Sailor Moon cats.

    Hope you like her!

The Sailor Moon figure looks good, :) but since the Luna one is in SD form while the Sailor Moon one is in normal proportions, the two don't match. lol

lol. I confess it is an odd pairing. Originally I was going to put Chibimoon with her, but due to limitations on the display stand, I couldn't. I got that Luna and my friend thought it would be cute and a reminder of the silliness of the series at times, so that's how that came about.

I do have a 2.0 version with a more size accurate Luna I will add in the near future.

That'll look better if its scale is about the same as the Sailor Moon figure's. :)

It's actually the same model I used for Artemis with the Venus model.

I had a spare Luna and figured why not...a little cosmetic work, adding details here and subtracting from what would be the Luna model and bingo. Which doesn't help the joke about Artemis having a female name.

Yeah, Luna & Artemis almost look identical except for their colors. XD

Here is a personal favorite of mine, a model kit I made for my girlfriend of Sailor Jupiter.
Since I'm over at her place tonight, it seemed appropriate.

This Jupiter is actually my Jupiter 2.0, and is closer to the colors used in the first two seasons, where my first attempt had brighter colors similar to what was used in the 4th season.

This model kit has between 16 to 18 pieces, and I added her planet symbol to her display stand.

    Hope you like it!

^ Yeah, the darker green looks better on her, & it's got an army feel, too.

I agree with Rika. The darker green really seems to make the character 'pop' with the contrast between that and her flesh tones.

    Looks really good! :)

    Thanks again!

I agree, the darker colors work much better for the character, as I feel it's more "strong" than the softer look of lighter green, and suits her personality much better.

Will post the first attempt I made note of some point this week, and I am now in the midst of making my next kit also. :D

    Thank you very much. :)

The first half of what I'm working on should be done sometime this coming week, so I will post progress pictures when that is complete.

Here's a "small" preview of what I'm working on next.

This is one of three figures I am working on for a project, which when it's done will be very cool. :-D
