Has anyone seen any Queen Beryl merchandise ? I've been looking around and can't find much .
There is the 6" Beryl doll (which I guess has an Irwin and Bandai release, and they're basically identical other than the packaging, I guess), the 11" Irwin Beryl doll (which is rare has heck, it seems), the Igel Beryl doll, the recent Italian figure, some trading cards, and there also seems to be a fabric poster featuring Beryl and the Shitennou. Beyond that though, I don't think there is really anything else. Since there are Funko figures coming out, they might make one of Beryl, though.
Speaking of the Funko Pop! figures, does anyone have an idea what the release date for them, other than "sometime this year"?
I've seen the Irwin dolls , I plan on picking one up along with the Beryl/Shittenou poster I saw.
I know I can't be the only fan of the villains why do they not have much merchandise ?
It's might be changing now (since the Ayakashi sisters are getting Petit Charas), but villains in Japan aren't really seen as something good for merchandising... Well, at least for shows like Sailor Moon. They figured kids wouldn't want stuff of the villains, but the heroes. In Japan, the only villain toys that were produced were the Amazoness Quartet, who got a line of plush dolls and normal dolls. However, North American companies like Irwin thought the opposite for merchandising - if there were only heroes produced, and no villains, who would they fight to save the day? Of course, when Sailor Moon came out in the US, they tried to get a wider audience with boys and girls, so that might have also contributed a little bit - Irwin also produced action figures and some other things that are arguably more unisex too.
Sadly if Irwin didn't go belly-up and if they got further licensing and all that jazz, we probably could have seen more merchandise for more characters (villains and otherwise).
