Any SM collectors know that most of the items we dream of adding to our collection are pricey, if not completely affordable.

My two favourite things to collect are dolls and DVDs. I've always wanted to own the SuperS Box set that was release in North America. It's just so beautiful to me, but also, expensive. Every time I entered a bidding war for it, my max bid would be around 200 - and the final bid would be something between 500 and 700.

I was able to pick it up not long ago for 150 (about 114 US dollars) and it's lovely! I'm very happy. :D

What's the best deal you've come across?

S movie DVD for a $1.99 at a thrift shop.

SuperS movie DVD for $9.99 at a GameStop.

Though my best deal was my mom got me a pretty face Black Lady doll that's missing her wrap, odangos, and shoes for $1.00 at a church rummage sale.

Lucky you! Thrift shop finds are always the best considering how unbelievably cheap they turn out to be. I never find anything but Sailor Moon VHS at mine.

Me and my mom often go to thrift shops and we find amazing deals on all sorts of stuff. Though my best Sailor Moon deal was for stuff I didn't even pay for. My dad works at the local movie theatre in town and he managed to get me a complete set of art cards, the mini poster, and the full size poster from when the R movie was in theatres. He also got my friend a complete set of art cards and the mini poster too.

About 10+ years ago I got a mint in box Sailor Neptune Beauty Change doll and a Super Sailor Venus Charatalk doll (also mint in box) for $35 each. That's what I call a steal!

A few weeks ago I went a garage sale and I bought two Sailor Moon t-shirts for 50 cents each. Though my best Sailor Moon deal happened a couple of months ago when I got my local Walmart's Sailor Moon S promo poster for free after asking if I could have it when they were done with it.

Anime convention about 5 years ago.
Person was selling the original ADV sub box set in the flea market (you made a donation to charity and were allowed to sell your own anime related items.)
I asked, "How much?"
The seller said, "$20"
I said, "Sold!"
The guy standing next to me said, "You're making a huge mistake."

Anime convention about 15 years ago.
This is when the market was being flooded by the Star Locket in Korean language packaging, and I bought one for $20 from a guy that had a case of them.
Sold it on eBay about 10 years later for over $300.

Reddit Sailor Moon Secret Santa, 3 years ago.
I got the Shining Moon Powder compact.
