Any one has any idea when these will start coming out?? Or will it be after the Sailor Stars sets?

Well since they have shown the dub maybe they will combine them with the classical Anime

When they first made the announcements I got the impression they were going to release all of Classic before starting on Crystal, but since they've already started dubbing who knows?

I'm guessing it'll be released alongside the older re-releases, with my guess for a physical release sometime early-mid next year. Viz doesn't seem to have that much left of the Dark Kingdom arc dub-wise (all 4 Inners are already recording) but I imagine they won't be able to do a physical release until Japan finishes releasing the Blu-Rays.

Just quoting what I said in a similar thread:

Strike while the iron is hot. It makes little sense to release Crystal after the 90's is done (which will be years). Crystal is already dubbed and broadcasting in other countries. I would be surprised if Viz didn't make a DVD/BD announcement by the end of this year.

Deborah Crane (@Deb_Crane on twitter) announced that she's the ADR Script Writer for the series. She's not well-known, but she has scripted other works like Bayonetta: Bloody Fate, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet (for just 9 eps), and script-editing Ikki Tousen's 2 seasons: Great Guardians & Xtreme Xecutor.

So who is the English Script for the classical anime?

Does anyone know how faithful her script adaptations tend to be? I'm curious whether it'll be even more faithful than the 90s anime (what I'm guessing) or more liberal.

Oh, that's when a dub doesn't follow the Japanese script as closely.

I wonder how far they are in their dub. When in the moon party they stated they were dubbing crystal? It might work they must be almost finished

It's hard to say. They said all the Inner VAs are recording, so I'd assume they're at least up to episode 6 or so. But then Chibi-usa's VA mentioned she's about to start recording, which makes me think they might already be starting the Black Moon arc.

Well not as if they would have a lot to record when it comes to Crystal. They could record all their lines in under a day.

Expected but good to know that they're handling it the same way as the 90s show with the LE box for both sets.

I wonder if they'll do 1-14 in the first set instead of 1-13 just so we have the entire Dark Kingdom arc together?

I would really hope they would release it 1-14 separately, but they missed the opportunity to end with the Nephrite arc for classic part 1.

Not to mention with how Toei's treating both arcs, this might be how everyone will be handling it. As mentioned last month, the Portuguese dub ended at episode 13 and now it's in reruns over there while they wait for all of Black Moon to be released to Blu-ray in Japan so they can get those masters in order to dub the rest.

Viz might not have the liberty to release the episodes how they want. Everything has to pass through Toei after all. It's not a massive issue for me, when you have both sets you have the complete story anyway.

I just saw Bayonetta: Bloody Fate and I was impressed by the scripting. They worked to bring certain lines in sync with how they were in the original game, rather than translating blindly and coming up with a different result. I think Crystal will be in good hands.

Thanks for the info! So it's probably a safe bet that she'll make sure the lines don't differ too much from the English re-release of the manga?

I hope they're altered because Kodansha's translation did not flow smoothly in English.

Now that Crystal has ended (we may get another season we just have to wait ) you think we might get the dub on TV when the dub finishes. So we know the inners are recording and maybe chibiusa so we might get it next year

This Tweet of Cristina's :rei: is making me think they're already recording the Black Moon arc. (especially since Chibi-usa's VA mentioned she's recording as well)

As for a tv airing... Viz wants to do it, and Toonami said they'd definitely air Crystal. The only problem is there's some sort of hang-up at the moment where Hulu wants to keep the dub a Hulu-exclusive, meaning it wouldn't be available anywhere else aside from the boxsets.

SnowWolf wrote:

I'm imagining it will, but we'll probably still get stuck with some of their terms as we've seen with "otaku".

You think Viz or Toei could compromise with Hulu? I mean couldn't like the first episode air much earlier?
