Sounds weird to some but not to me! I think it sounds beautiful if done right!

-Future Dark Crystal Tokyo Wedding Idea-

Now, I know I'm not the only huge Moonie out there who has thought about having a HUGE Sailormoon themed wedding!

My theme will be 'Dark, Crystal Tokyo! Light purple, deep red and black, crystals and future Tokyo items with silk drapes and roses! That way, I won't look like a complete otaku if someone walks in and think, 'Did I walk into a convention?'
My dress will be Serenity inspired, bride's maids will be senshi color inspired... even the groom's men will be dressed in solider style suits. Our song will be My only love; one of the greatest American songs!

My ring... well... you already know what my ring will look like Moonies!

I'd considder it, but really Usagi always seems to aspire to have a normal wedding. Fancy, upper-class, but otherwise mundane.

Personally, I've been fantisizing about a Hyrulian-themed wedding.

I don't know about theme, maybe "Mercury." So it would be silver and dark blue or something...

It is funny that you mention this, though, because I've always loved Princess Mercury's dress and have thought of commissioning it for my Wedding and wearing it with blue converse all-stars (since those are my favorite shoes in the whole world and I have worn them all my life). I was going to have planet brides maids based after whatever senshi the girls would pick, and my sisters love Jupiter and Chibi Moon so they would have those princess dresses etc. I would prefer them to wear all-stars that match their dresses too, but it wouldn't be a requirement.

I already want my ring to be a sapphire (I'm not into diamonds anyway, and sapphire is my birth stone). My fiance would wear a Saphir-type suite, I think, if I went all out (which, if I marry my current squeeze, he would never go for the whole thing). I would also hold a bouque of white and blue lillies.

We would still dance to "In My Life" by the Beatles but I would need some romantic songs from SM like the piano fantasias. I would also probably have another Beatles song like "Here Comes the Sun" for walking down the aisle.

I'm sorry, but am I the only person who thinks this is all insane? I mean, I love Sailor Moon as much as the rest of you, but a Sailor Moon wedding? Do you really want to say to your kids "The theme of our wedding was Sailor Moon"? Not me. I'm going to have a beautiful, extravagant, conventional wedding.

I too love Sailor Moon, but it will never be a part of my wedding. ^^; My dream is a regular white wedding in the spring in a garden.

My math teacher had her wedding during sky diving!
And if there is sky diving, there's gonna be 'water diving' wedding, I think I saw that many years ago on tv.
And I've seen Renaissance wedding photos online too.
Also, there's a Star Trek wedding, saw that on the Life TV channel.

I will have a regular small wedding. I love Sailor Moon and I adore Mamoru and Usagi.

I like those water painting pictures featuring Usagi and Mamoru. I think they are very pretty and sweet. I will take some wedding photos that looked like some of the pictures.

P.S. so..is your ring gonna be crystal (the Silver Crystal) or diamond?

Well... I always wanted to have my first dance to "Moonlight Densetsu". It's something I'm secretly planning to do. Either that or Motto Suteki na Asa ga Kuru Yo. Then, I wanted to have a live band play 'Search for your love" followed by "My friends love", followed by.. Ginga Ichi Mibun Na Kata omoi. My poor [future ^^'] husband. xD He'd look at the dopey smile on my face during that song and think it was because of him. xD

I must admit that I feel the same way.
Although after reading Miss Ami Mizuno's post I'd actually not mind for my wife to wear a dress from Sailor Moon. Princess Mercury's dress in particular is gorgeous!

Well, if anything SM-related were to be included into it, I wouldn't mind having "You're Just My Love" played/sang at some point during it.

But, I doubt it would be all SM-themed.

(And I'd first have to get a girlfriend )

But stranger things have happened. Like, I've seen pictures of a couple getting married next to a giant Big Boy statue with the bride being walked down the aisle by Darth Vader followed by two Stormtroopers.

And one of my dad's cousins had the Star Wars them song played as his (my dad's cousin's) bride walked down the aisle at their wedding. And it was done as a surprise for him, since the first Star Wars movie (A New Hope) was his favorite movie back then.

I'd be so embarrassed to have a Sailor Moon-themed wedding. I hardly admit to anybody that I like Sailor Moon, because I've always been teased... when people other than my best friends come over, I hide my wall scroll and Luna plushie.

But I would love to wear a Serenity dress...

The most fandom-y thing I think I'd actually do for my wedding is have a LotR ring. I'd love that.

So this means no one wants to have a Princess Serenity dress, hairclips, same flower bouqet down to the last flower, sailor moon wallpaper, sailor moon costumes, senshi bridesmaids, Nehelenia outfit wearing mother in law, black and white cat roaming, band dressed as the Three Lights, Senshi themed tables with colours and respective fave foods, Usagi's fave foods served, senshi themed curtains, fountain, statue, Sailor Moon cry vows, 100% SM music, Sailor Moon gift statues or a Super Sailor Moon outfit for their reception?? Nonsense. Nonsense I tell you. Do it so I can pee and convulse at the same time.

Inefficient for a hardcore fan and too hardcore for a regular fan - thus completely impossible. I suppose fans dedicated enough for stuff like that would never bother to spend like 10,000 USD to organize everything listed above for such a mundane thing as a wedding, to start with. Most probably they would spend those money to buy more merchandise, visit Japan, and in other fan activities. And regular fans who consider Sailor Moon too mundane for such an important event as a wedding would never do that either (as you can see in several replies above).

So I guess it only suits very, very rich hardcore fans, then.

Not true. I suspect a really hardcore female SM fan would probably consider an SM themed wedding to be her dream come true. That's why I was being semi-serious with what I listed above . Weddings are very important to some people, not 'mundane' as you say. Some people may think it is the ultimate way to honor the show- to include it in their wedding. You're generalising and so am I.

Having one? No way. I'm just getting hitched. At most it would be some cheap wedding. After going through my older Brothers wedding and all the money they poured into it and the end result.

I'm in total agreement here. The wedding lasts only one day, I don't want to pour my life savings into it. I'd rather have a small but nice wedding, and save up for a house and stuff. ... My future man will be very happy with me. xD; A lot of guys are stunned by how much money their fianceé's want to spend on just the wedding. xD


But anyway yeah, I guess it'd be fun to attend one. But as I stated earlier, I'd never do that for mine.

i don't think i'd have a sailor moon wedding. people would be like what? but i think i'd like to have a dress sort of like neo queen serenitys. i know one person put little chibi figures of serenity and endymion on there cake. instead of regular figures.i'd like to do that

You two have a great point, however, it's woman's day as a princess.

I could go either way but I would most likely do a normal one [maybe with a few interesting things to make it fun for everyone] I'd probably do an SM one if I won the lottery or if I was rich, I wouldn't go all out just have a few things like the bride would have a Serenity dress but no one would have to know that it's SM, just me & the bride's little secret ^^

Good idea. You could consider your wedding as a one-shot business project & run it like that - I know some have actually turned out a profit out of it.
