We all like to make up our own characters in our favorite fiction stories, Sailor Moon is no exception to the rule. But there are some fan made senshi that are so bad that it hurts you inside. So guys (and gals) what is the lamest example of a fan made senshi you have seen? If you have pictures of your example, feel free to post them.

The idea of Sailor Earth isn't a bad one to me but the idea of Naru being Sailor Earth irks me.

I honestly have no idea why people want her to be a Senshi at all.

Because she's cute and she got left behind when Usagi went to play with her new magical friends!

Yeah Usagi turned out to be a horrible friend . Despite the fact she really was busy , she could have made time for Naru . Wait what am I thinking? This is only a cartoon.

I like to think Usagi didn't completely ditch Naru but they simply drifted apart once Naru stared dating Umino.

So Umino has kinda served as a compensation for her.

My vote is for any Sailor Senshi that borrows too much on the pre-existing senshi, such as, powers, hair style, personality and weaponry that is slightly modified, or just the same as the main senshi. How many times have I seen people take Usagi's hair, color it differently and slap on a new Senshi name. Wow. Really. Creative.

Yes, I understand that the Sailor fuku is largely the same for most of the characters. That's fine. But I think a different color scheme should be used, or at the very least, explain why the character has those colors.

I constantly see Sailor Jupiter as Sailor Earth with her uniform green and instead of pink brown. Very lame.

No comment on this subject . I think all fan senshi are amazing . It is someones creation . Who are we to judge?

I've seen a lot of lame ones >.> I practically make Otaku Senshi up for fun and think up a colour scheme, a name and a new hairstyle different from any other SM character. Currently Im trying to make a senshi up for EVERY moon of a planet and planets in other galaxies that I make up (Jupiter and Saturn's moons included >.>)

"Sailor A" looks OK, & "Sailor Rabbit" looks cute, tho.

Their introductions crack me up every time.

Aside from the whole idea that Serena abandons Molly and her other friends and writers want to recapture that dynamic, there is a plot basis for this trope.

During the Neflyte episodes, at least in the dub, it's hinted that there's something special about Molly. Note that Molly was not only willing to put her life on the line for him when she thought he was an innocent (which is a heroic trait), but she was willing to believe in Neflyte even though she knew he was a liar. At this point in Sailor Moon, Molly had more compassion than the titular character.

Thus, turning Molly into a Sailor Sc0ut, while cliche, is an extension of her development in the early episodes. Could you imagine the potential for drama if Molly had turned out to be another Sailor Sc0ut, especially if a planetary symbol appeared on Molly's head at the pivotal moment when she steps in front of Neflyte? Instead of Sailor Moon's tiara magically stopping on Sailor Moon's command, what if this revelation caused it to stop...either via a burst of willpower, or if Neflyte saved her...if only to be used as a pawn. As an alternative, what if Molly had been the Moon Princess all along?



Except that really doesn't work because Melvin is not only Serena's friend, but her classmate.

Back to the original topic, I did not turn Molly into Sailor Earth, but I did something similar for her. If you read the summary of my discarded fanfic, I made her into a Defender. A Defender is my fan-term for characters who aren't Sailor Sc0uts but have powers. Since they weren't representing a planetary body, like Tuxedo Mask* they wore masks and were temporary figures of fighting evil. In my fic idea, she took Sailor Moon's place when the Sailor Sc0uts were defeated, and Molly did have control over the earth element.

However, my stupidest idea for a fan Sailor Sc0ut was Sailor Andromeda. I don't mean the Sailor Andromeda which was a one-shot idea where Ann posed as Sailor Sc0ut. That was bad enough. No, in my vision of Sailor Moon, Queen Serenity's mother, Queen Luna, was romanced by the Demetrite (Alan and Ann's race) Fian, and it was expected that the courtship would turn into marriage, as this would unite the Moon Kingdom and the Demetrites. However, Luna decided to marry a commoner instead, but she gave Fian a "seed of power" as a goodbye present, and this seed, when it reacted with a woman, she'd become Sailor Andromeda.

Aliana, a daughter of the Tree of Life (which had settled on a new planet), came to Earth, and unknown to even herself, was chosen to be Sailor Andromeda. Unfortunately, she got possessed before she found out herself and consequently, she fought against the Sailor Sc0uts until freed of the influence. Then like Alan and Ann before her, she left to make no impact on the story again. Despite this, I made a fake bio. I even used Snake Man's theme as her theme.

*Yes, I know that Tuxedo Mask is connected to Earth, but in my fanfic he's not a male guardian of Earth as much as he was a defender.

I just meant since Naru has got Umino as her BF & they've become a couple, that can, to a certain extent, compensate for her reducing time w/ Usagi.


At least I like the name, tho.

Thanks. I liked the name as well, and I really liked the idea of Ann being a Sailor Sc0ut (even a fake one). The later Aliana/Sailor Andromeda was my way of working around the canon. I don't know why I was so stuck on having her appearance be based on the alien's disguise form, though.



This makes me wonder if there's an alternate-universe fanfic out there that actually pushes this concept further and how it would have affected the anime.

Someone finally noticed!

I was playing around with the doll-making program and decided to make Sailor Senshi with characteristics of characters from the Mega Man X series. The Sailors in my sig are supposed to be representing Axl, Zero, and X. There is no fan fiction for this as this is more of a visual gag idea that isn't supposed to be taken serious.

I did once have an idea of the Sailor Senshi fighting the Mavericks in Mega Man X1 after accidentally being brought to the future. Of course, instead of doing the smart thing and having the Senshi pick on the weaknesses of the Mavericks, they'd square off by element.

Sailor Mercury and Sailor Mars vs. Flame Mammoth and Chill Penguin - "Fire & Ice"
Sailor Venus and Sailor Jupiter vs. Sting Chameleon and Spark Mandrill -- "Beauties and the Beasts"
Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune vs. Storm Eagle and Launch Octopus -- "One if by Air, Two if by Sea"
Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn vs. Boomer Kuwanger and Armored Armadillo -- I couldn't think of a punny title for this one

I never really thought of an overall story for this one (heck, I didn't know what to do with Sailor Moon herself), just the action sequences.

Another idea for was a Sailor Moon/Mega Man X crossover where Sigma was forced to work with the Senshi (and vice versa). Yes, he'd forced to work with an "inferior" species, and no this did not lead to "redemption/reform" but would contain more discussion about the philosophy behind Mavericks, humans, past lives, control, destiny and duty...stuff that both Sailor Moon and Mega Man X gave only light attention to. Of course, the characters would be working together in the opposing groups as outlined above, except I'd split Neptune and Uranus up (I am so evil) and the five groups would be facing five sepate enemies.

So in reality, the sig is just the tip of the iceberg of what's on my brain.

I've always been frustrated looking at so-called fan henshins on youtube that actually go through the trouble to create a semi-unique looking head for their senshi and then decide to fill the rest of it with all the portions of SM's henshin where you can't see her face. (Her gloves and shoes, mostly.) I'm not asking for frame-by-frame animation, and if that's the best they can do, I guess it's fine, but it just feels like they got lazy or are just ripping it off.

Now that I think about it, there was a lot of implication (at least in the dub) that there was something special about Naru. Too bad they didn't follow through with it. I realize it wouldn't have fit the manga canon, but there's PLENTY in the dub that doesn't anyhow.

I can't stand the ones that take pre-existing transformations and recolor them. HOW many times have people used Ami's transformation from her SuperS special and used a purple layer to make it Hotaru? Or use those gifs that have Misty and other Pokemon characters transforming into Sailor Senshi. Come on, I know some people don't have a lot of drawing talent, but don't rip off canon stuff.

Agreed. I'm actually okay with them using it as a base- like, copying the shape of a hand or body when they're using their transformation rod or whatever, but when you're just recoloring parts of it or blatantly using unaltered scenes it's blah.

I understand how you feel, but most of those people probably can't draw, let alone animate, frames and color them. While I agree that simply slapping a filter on the existing footage is underwhelming, even something a little more elaborate, like recoloring the uniforms themselves, frame-by-frame is very time consuming and difficult. I know, because I tried my hand at editing frames to make a Sailor V animation and I couldn't even get a single frame right after hours of work. The few of those who are talented enough to both draw and animate well are going to make a Sailor Senshi transformation probably aren't going to make one (aside, of course, from the artists who already do this).



Well, the problem is they were limited by the animation. They couldn't exactly make Molly's role bigger than what it was in the original story.

Ah, okay. I noticed that the Mega Men tend to be male. Is there gender-bending involved?

*SIGH* Don't remind me. I've done tons of frame-by-frame editing and it's agonizing. There are a few programs these days where you can just select a color in the video and switch it with another, though. Of course, I think most of the people who make the simpler videos are probably using Windows Movie Maker or iMovie or something, which, of course, don't have that.

Well, yeah and no. Obviously, the made-up senshi are female, but it's more like what if these characters were senshi instead of their current incarnations, not them turning into senshi. Besides, if I were going to gender bend them, I'd prefer the Midnight Bliss method.



There exist programs...that do this?

I realize I did make other fan senshi (namely Sailor Bulma and Sailor Steeler) but I don't consider them lame. They're purely for fun.
