Hm. I like the new transformations. Kinda unusual but sooo fluid. Makes sense for them to be different than our galaxy's senshi, too.
The dance steps remind me a bit of Mami's transformation in Madoka:
Oof. The art is nice in concept but bleh execution. Her anatomy seems to have worsened over time. Pluto's arms are bad but she's also straight on from the waist but her neck/head are in full profile... Yeesh.
I don't mind the "revealing" part, seen worse in fan transformations for years. Also really glad they're not copying her incredibly boring Stars transformation.
That said... What's with the long pause on her crunched up into herself folded over near the end? Like she can't hold up her own...
I dunno, I don't mind the idea of them having been in love in the past. The main difference would be that instead of violating the rules set for them like Endymion and Serenity, they stayed true to their duty despite (possibly) yearning for each other. besides, even baby Pluto had to be...
Likely. I can't see them missing the opportunity to push new crap for us to buy. The whole series is just an ad for toys right? And with it being the 30th anniversary and all.
I love the callback to the earlier 90s transformations. The Eternal transformation and attack were always the weakest in terms of choreography and this looks fantastic in comparison! Her gloves forming just looks gorgeous.
Chibi looks great, though I agree that I wish she looked just a little bit older. She grew up a considerable amount over the course of the manga but hasn't really changed in the anime since S3 (and that's just because she had a weird gangly toddler-like appearance in S2, lol.)
I guess it makes...
Some of those frames remind me a lot of newbie kid artists trying to do fanart. Full of anatomical errors, poor sense of perspective, lack of symmetry between eyes, etc etc.
Is it just me, or does Saturn look taller when she's doing her attack than as Hotaru? I know that was a thing in the 90s anime with Chibi-Usa... but since they've retained tiny Saturn and tiny Chibi-Moon in this redux I dunno if it's just an animation fluke or intentional.
Well, just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean that it couldn't happen. She was power-mad and with the unexpected interference from the senshi I guess she took it out on whoever she wanted.
Meanwhile, as far as Galaxia is concerned, the chasing after citizens for star seeds was definitely a...
Loving Saturn's attack!! It's got that OMPH of power and motion at the end that a lot of the attacks and Uranus' transformation nod lacked. The way she strains against the energy before finishing the turn and tossing it? Mwah.
