If it's the old dub, maybe Ami/Amy. "Fine then, brat!" always makes me laugh. Usagi/Serena also gets in some good ones. But in every other form it's gotta be Rei, Luna and Artemis. Poor Artemis always gets comeuppance and he's usually just telling the truth. Life is so cruel to Artemis.

Maybe the best thing is to have an open thread where we can discuss the good and bad and also have a near identical thread where people who don't want any negativity can post with a specific rule that only nice things are allowed. It would probably just be easier to ignore and skip over comments...

I'm enjoying both the critiques and the praise on this thread...some of the rudeness, not so much. But how boring would it be if everyone just praised the art and moved on? Or vice versa, if we all agreed to just hate it and left it there. I think it's important not to make any personal attacks...

It should be fine to both criticize and appreciate art. I don't think it's a bit wrong to point out flaws. I don't think it's a bit wrong to enjoy it for what it is and find beauty in it. I'm just happy to see new art.

You're right that liking what you see is subjective, and there's nothing wrong with that. The art is pretty (as always) and it's fun in that Sailor Moon way. But Lady Pen is also right that the composition isn't great. I love lots of things that are not done well...I mean, I am a Sailor Moon...

I'm just going to be content for the moment that they didn't just trace the awful 90's Eternal sequence...the most boring transformation, which was what I was expecting to happen. Hopefully, they also spiced up Therapy Kiss since that was also bland in the 90s with those weird stiff poses.

I have to disagree about Kotono. I still think she sounds good. She has always been slightly grating, that's part of her appeal. I think both she and Goku's voice actress (who is much older) both sound so good! That said, in any future reboots I'd rather have Usagi recast just to get some fresh...
