I want everyone's opinions and thoughts about this character study about Beryl. One of the sentences that struck me most was this; 'I was fighting for love too, so why did my battle have to end in misery while she got everything she wanted?' Was it fair that only Usagi came out happy in the entire fiasco?

I will say both in the manga and anime, Beryl was not really a "tragic woman without love".

She was very ambitious and wanted to rule everything, her love for Endyimon was just a reflection of her trying to gain power and everything else. The anime made it quite clear, the manga also showed in the flashback that she was waiting for Metallia to awake, they were simply using each other. She also wanted to betray Metallia and rule for herself instead.

In both the anime and manga, she treated all of her followers as expendable tools, and never truly treated Mamoru as a person but a trophy to own.

Just the flashback before her death was touching so it left ppl such impression.

I thought this was a great character study, one that highlighted the toxicity of Beryl's selfishness while making sure the character only danced around the edge of self-awareness. I loved how this writer diverged from canon slightly the to create original deaths of the Inner Senshi, as well as changing up the pivotal resolution of the Silver Millennium backstory to make it more heart-wrenching.

Thank you for the recommendation.
