Not the biggest news in the world, and it likely only matter to 5 people or so on here, but the Sailor Moon musicals will apparently continue in the summer despite the the "Second Stage Final" being printed on the flyers which caused some speculation that the myu was going to end and/or a huge cast graduation would take place.

According to reports Galaxia said that the next goal was 1000 performances. (This was either the 777th show or they did the 777th show durring this run.)

Doesn't look like either has happened this go-'round. No clue yet on what the next myu will be. (But a caveat lector, this is all second hand info so it may be wrong.)

Yuuko-Pluto[pic] seems to have been the only graduated person, but that was known. :( She was a very good Pluto.

Mmm, pity that Yuhko is leaving. First Nao and Yuhka, and now...Ah well, best nip my reminiscing in the bud before I start sounding like a curmudgeon. ("Back in my day, we had Yuuta as Tuxedo Kamen, and we drooled like proper fangirls!")

Well, I'm relieved to see they'll be around for at least another few shows. If we're at around 777, that'll be about two or three more, I wager. (Of course, I don't know how many dates the Myu run in a season, but that's just a blind estimate.)

And since Marina didn't graduate, I believe fans can finally put the "stages are determined by a changing of Moon" idea to rest. If there was any doubt after the whole Second Stage Final thing, that is.

I have a question. Why must the actresses graduate? :?
I think they mean in the sense that, for example, when actors leave SNL, sometimes they say they've graduated from the show, or they're an Alumni.

Or to say that more simple graduate = left.

Alumni -> male (and female*), plural.
Alumnus -> male, singular.
Alumnae -> female, plural.
Alumna -> female, singular.

:D

* You can have a group of 999 females and 1 male, but you could still say that the group comprises 1000 alumni. Latin is not a politically correct language.

Well, as far as I can gather, people took the phrase "Second Stage Final" a little too literally; that is, Final meaning the end of Myu. And not, say, as Eien Densetsu FFS was the end to the First Stage.

Myu fans tend to get very nervy if they pick up hints that things are changing. As I recall, some people got worried after Ai no Sanctuary (10th Anniversary) that Myu was ending. I'm not believing anything until I see a press release or an article, however.

At the risk of sounding like a bitter old woman in a rocking chair.... :roll: I remember back when I first saw one of the musicals...those were some of the best actors/actresses I'd seen! And Yuuta-san made a fabulous Tuxedo Kamen...these scrawny guys they have now can't compare with him! :) I AM sad to hear that Hikari Ono has left, though...although...I wonder if she's leaving 'Myu and heading over to the Hunter x Hunter musicals now? One can hope...she has talent, I'd hate to see her quit. I am curious to see what kind of new storylines they can come up with for 'Myu now, though. Some of the "made for musical" stories, like Kaguya Shima Densetsu and Transylvania No Mori (if you ignore the fact that the Amazoness Quartet was NOT created for the sole purpose of the musical) were very good. I guess time will tell. And even more time before I can actually see the musicals...grr...I need to form a mass excursion to Japan to view one of the musicals live. That would be awesome.

It should be noted that in the Transylvania musical the group of girls is not called the Amazones Quartet. The group name is Sammael Quartet. They still become the Sailor Quartet at the end, but never appear after. Presumably they went back to sleep or something. Their story is also different than the manga and anime, so they are somewhat "made for musical".

You know, as much as I love Yuuta, I really did prefer him as King Endymion and Dracul. He always seemed a little bit too big, a little bit too old to be the Mamochan we know and love. (Well, I love him, anyway.) In recent days, Kenji and Yuu have both been fantastic; you can't argue with Mamochans who get into fist fights with youma and play the guitar!

Firstly, while Ono-sama did change agencies, there was never any press release, article, or mention on her website to indicate that she had left the Myu permanently. Heck, Ryuuji disappeared out of the spotlight for three years (or more; my math sucks, what do you want?), and he came back for the 10th Anniversary. So you never can tell.

And secondly, by the sheer volume of productions she has listed on her website, I think it's a safe bet she'll be performing in musicals and other productions for years to come.

I should have read the whole post but anyway, I wanted to comment on that why do they have to graduate.

Being a big fan of Morning Musume, I'm no stranger to people graduating from a group. Same thing happens to Seramyu as well.

There are a few reasons a person graduates, one (example Fumina) they want to do other things, If I remember correctly, she wanted to finish school. That's why she left.

The second reason is because they are forced out, they don't want to leave but seriously (this is an example) a 30/20 year old woman should not be playing a girl who is only supposed to be like 15/17. So in other words, they outgrow their part and are forced to move on, sometimes the actors or actresses stick around, case in point, Hikari Ono.

And finally you have contract, they sign up for so many shows and then after the contracts up, they leave. (I will so miss little Ruria! ;-; But at least I can see her on TV! :D )

I hope my rambling made a little bit of sense, if it didn't I'm so very sorry! :o

Also- This is my opinion, I'm not positive on any of it. ^_^;

I wonder if you can get package deals flights etc that include tickets to a Sailor Moon musical. Always wanted to visit Japan, might be a fun Summer hol. But expensive, right?

A friend told me that the lyricist, the person who wrote "La Soldier" and "Destined Couple" past away. A female, I think. In Kakyuu's Program book, there's a whole page explaining why it's Final Second Stage. It was her passing away combined with the fact that it's a Stars musical. Stars ends the stages and Kakyuu was the end of the Stars arc. But anywho, yes, the musicals will continue. This woman wrote the themes for all the musicals before Starlights.

Ex: Moment Fatal, We'll Be The Last Victory and many others.

This explanation may sound strange, but it's the fundamental reason why it's the "Final Second Stage".

Marina-Moon is a keeper. ^_^

As someone on a Sera Myu group, it is the beginning of the third pharse of new musicals.
Remember what Miyuki and Hara said during AnS, they want Sera Myu for 20 or 30 years. That just odd.........O.O; (Miyuki has gotten pretty since she left Sera Myu........)

Yuuta was ok. How old was he in the musicals? He seem 30 to 40 for his looks. I miss Kenji Urai-sama........:)huggles her copy of the Mugen program book:) Yuu just looks creppy as a Mamo-chan as if he makes a perfect vampire. What has he done? Didn't he join a band?

I personally adored Yuu. I thought he made a really cute Mamochan. He does have a really pale complexion for a Japanese person, but I don't think it makes him look strange at all; actually, it really suits him. Besides, he's got a gorgeous voice, and is one of the few actors who has a talent for going from sweet to badass in less than five seconds.

Yuu is The Prince of the Ass. XD

WHAT ARE YOU!?! SOME KIND OF COMMUNIST? :P
I'm sure you're one of the people who thinks anza is the great goddess of myu... :o
Nah, I don't like their high-sounding....... Like Miyuki........(Of course, maybe I am jealous cause she is my age, BUT NO!! :twisted: ) I am not like Simon COwell......... :o

The QUEEN of Myu isn't Anza (She needs to be Queen of Punk) but like Hikari Ono, The First Stage Queen Beryl, The First Stage Kaolinite, or someone like that. Someone who has a great voice but not annoying to the ear.
You will soon learn, in due time..........
