So two thread that are causing issues/drama.
The whole Disney gets Sailor Moon IPs and make a movie about it. Also people dislike representation here. Oh no, they'll make Sailor Moon played by an African American and Sailor Mercury is trans/sarcasm
You're getting upset because people feel happy of seeing themselves in media. I'm sure there isn't a schizophrenic autistic asexual character, but it'll be cool if there was.
"Woke" is the new buzzword because Alt Right goons assume gender identities are finally showing up to be represented in the media and people are being cancelled because they're a-holes towards a certain group of people.
If you have problems that fictional characters shouldn't represent the LGBTQ+ community and people from different ethnic backgrounds, there's the door & you can leave this place. In the name of the moon, TERFs aren't welcome here.
Which leads to the second drama thread: Haruka isn't non binary.
Look, I was introduced to Sailor Moon S/Infinity Arc from the manga. I really didn't care about the lesbian relationship. I felt Uranus & Neptune were jerks to Sailor Moon and the inners too.
I feel more Haruka is a tom-boy who happens to like and flirt with women. With the translation saying she deems both masculine and feminine features, she is considered genderfluid.
Though in the Stars manga, Haruka is donning a female student uniform. Guess she stopped acting manly because she wanted to be in the same school to protect her princess. So yeah, Haruka plays with the motion of having both male and female characteristics. Though, I think in the end of Sailor Moon, she's a CIS lesbian.
Let's just say the relationship between Haruka and Michiru might had paved the way for LGBTQ+ representation in shoujo media in the upcoming years. Utena, anyone?
So in conclusion: Stop whining about representation. Unless Naoko made changes, please don't be a **** towards communities liking something and using it to connect with others. Sailor Moon is a worldwide phenomenon and we'll see the final chapter next month.
