Please, forgive me.

EDIT: Wrong Post quoted.
I didn't expect you to apologize.
I was just being honest, I'm familiar with subtitled Sailor Moon since 2008 and Kotono's voice was what prevented me from completely disliking this reboot in every season but the third. That's what you call "feels like home." And a lot of fans probably felt the same.
I must agree she sometimes sounded bad before she finally "found her Usagi voice again" after the Black Moon arc, though.

Yeah, having Sailor Moon voiced by anyone but Kotono would have been a terrible move.

I just think that if they couldn't get the Inners voiced by their original '90s voice actresses, they should have done what Cosmos did and get other veteran actresses from the '90s era to voice them because it would make Kotono sound less out of place with the rest of the cast. Megumi Hayashibara was perfect casting for Galaxia for that very reason (and similarly Ai Maeda for Sailor Pluto was also great).

So I wonder for the next series will she return to voice Sailor Moon again? I wonder if she would or if time is taking its toll? Goku's VA has been at it for a while.

I remember a long time ago there was a panel and she was there and I remember smiling so hard when she said the speech for someone.

I know the others can't come back because of money or other projects but I do wonder who could play Usage if her original VA sits the next one out. Linda's VA was iconic too though cause I believe she did dual roles in Classic.

Kotono’s most memorable performance was in Act 9 (Serenity-Princess). She made the reboot belong to her as a voice actress, I don’t care what anybody says. Usagi crying and shouting Mamo-Chan while Chiba is taken away from her. Irrespective of the anime being a problematic ONA series, Kotono‘s performance was impressive.

My post was actually a reaction to someone above me mentioning payments for voice actors, artists, and other people who worked on this reboot.

What I wanted to say was, while Kotono is most likely well payed seiyu considering her status, and she has a very recognizable voice, she really only had 3 big roles over her entire career - Usagi / Sailor Moon, Misato Katsuragi, and Boa Hancock.
And maybe Tae Yamada, although from what little I know, she more like meme character.

Before SM reboot happened, her last role where she was the star of the show was Excel, and that was back in late 90s.
Othewise, since early 2000s, she didn't have much relevant roles.

IMO, as far as 90s SM seiyu are concerned, I would say that Aya Hisakawa, Toru Furuya, and Megumi Ogata had much bigger presence in anime.

I'm sure she would have been fine even if she was replaced, I mean, as far as money is concerned, but I doubt she wasn't glad that she managed to keep her role.

Now, don't get me wrong, I am happy for her, in fact, don't even get me into explaining you how much I love her voice, as well as of others who were in 90s series.

I even thought Crystal will be ruined when they announced that others won't be reprising their roles.

But then I saw episode with Ami, and then with Rei (I still can't believe that I only saw first 3 episodes of Crystal), and while new seiyu sounded different, they still managed to make those roles their own.

If Kotono was replaced, yes, Usagi wouldn't have her iconic voice anymore, but whoever replaced her, and I am sure they would have chosen someone with equally iconic, and memorable voice who would bring their own magic to Usagi.

With all that said, I now have a weird urge to check some 90s anime I never saw in which Kotono voiced someone.

It was by far one of the best voice performance I've ever seen

I swear there's a double-standard here. Most of the Dragon Ball cast came back for later adaptations but then they went and recast everyone (except Kotono) in Sailor Moon. To this day I still think they should've brought back everyone or hired all new actors. Only bringing back Kotono and apparently not even telling the other actresses was a really crappy move.

I think it’s like.. pretty similar number to Eternal? It’s be interesting to know what the overall Box Office gross was for each of those movies in comparison to Japan.

I suppose it’s still early to know how much each films is going to make?

I look forward to reading your full review.

I almost completely forgot about this thread but that's not bad really for Part II and five weeks for Part I isn't bad either tbh. If Part I dropped off the ranking like after only 2 weeks then yeah...ouch...so Part II might be around for long too maybe, probably towards the third or final week of July.

What I wanna know is how much Bandai earned from that 90,000 Yen proplica.
The 99000 yens thing is a yet to be announced statue, but they didn’t release the Proplica Tiare price yet
I’m sure it will be more than 20 000 yens, it could be the final one so they need to juice it to the max. Can’t wait to see your memes about this :yoshi:
