Black Lady was always a part of the Black Moon Clan who took the name Onyx.
She was transformed into a child and sent back to infiltrate the Tsukino family in the form of a child in order to steal the Silver crystal and prevent Sailor Moon from becoming NQS.
However, she was affected by the healing properties of the Silver Crystal until her memories began to erode and she started to believe the false identity she created (Chibi Usa). This is why Wiseman tried to intercept her and when he did, he began restoring her to her true form as an adult.

Sailor Venus was the true Moon Princess. Queen Serenity enslaved the Moon, killed her parents and Venus survived because she complied and agreed to protect Princess Serenity. Minako has always hated Usagi and pretends to be her friend, while using Usagi to kill all the enemies until the day she could reclaim her title and avenge her lineage. She is going to kill Sailor Moon and completely change the future in the upcoming 6th manga story arc.

I don’t know if this counts but I’m going to post some of the common fandom rumors/myths I’ve heard over the years mostly regarding Chibi-Usa’s parentage:

1. Chibi-Usa’s real father is either Rubeus or Hawks-Eye which would explain where she gets her eye and hair color from.
2. Alternatively, Mamoru is her actual father but Usagi is not her mother, her true mother is either Pluto (to explain her red eyes) or Beryl and if it’s the latter she was conceived during the time Mamoru was brainwashed as Evil Endymion. Pluto being her actual mother could explain why she feels such an immense attachment to her and Beryl being the mother would also explain her immense hostility towards Usagi.
3. Chibi-Chibi is actually the daughter of Usagi and Seiya and is Chibi-Usa’s half sister.
4. Chibi-Chibi is Chibi-Usa’s future daughter with Helios
5. The Black Moon Clan had their own kingdom on Nemesis during the Silver Millennium
6. The reason why Setsuna and Hotaru’s mother look so similiar is because Setsuna is Hotaru’s actual mother, but hiding undercover since she reawakened as Sailor Pluto.
7. Queen Serenity was a tyrant dictator and alien invader that colonized all the planets in our Solar System including Mau, and that’s the reason they’re all under the Moon’s jurisdiction. She tried this with Earth too but they actually fought back due to the power of the Sailor Crystal and that’s why they’re not part of Silver Millenium.
8. Naru is the actual Sailor Earth
9. Alternatively I’ve heard some theories that Beryl is Sailor Earth as well.
10. Or the actual Sailor Earth was either Endymion’s mother or sister but she didn’t get reincarnated for some reason.
11. Kaidou was Jadeite’s civilian form and that’s why Rei saw their images mixed together.
12. Princess Serenity did have a father and he was the King of the Sun
13. Nehellenia is actually Queen Serenity’s sister and therefore, Princess Serenity’s aunt.
14. Also apparently according to some old Geocities shrines, 90’s anime Mamoru is actually in his 30’s or 40’s instead of his absolute oldest being 18? lol

There’s also the infamous “Prince Uranus theory” but I’m not even gonna bother mentioning that one since it’s only believed by homophobes who refuse to acknowledge that Sailor Moon is a queer franchise lol.

As someone who supports Uranus/Neptune, Zoi and Kunzite, and Fish Eye's choices, I still don't see the series as a "queer franchise".
It's a franchise that happens to have some gay characters, some of which are good people (Haruka and Michiru) and others are toxic (Fish Eye, Seiya) and some are people who are gay, but it has nothing to with their being good or evil (anime Kunzite/Zoisite).
The Prince Uranus thing is 100% stupid and baseless, though I've heard when it originated, some people just believed it due to the rumor and not out of any real sense of trying to justify the relationship as straight. (even if that crazy rumor was true, it would still be unacceptable to homophobes since "Prince" Uranus was supposedly reincarnated as a woman, a combination of him and his sister...man, that rumor is so convoluted and unnecessary.)

I'm not disagreeing to attack your opinion of it, I just don't think the series is regarded as a "queer franchise", just one that happens to have some gay stuff going on here and there that a lot of people gay and straight are into. I don't even know if it's so much actively pro-gay, it's just not anti-gay. If you mean it is iconic for a lot of gay people, then in that sense, I totally agree.
I do give it credit for helping open my eyes up to seeing some relationships in a new light, though, coming out of the different world that was the 90s, lol.

Speaking of persisting rumors, I wonder how many people ever bought that Amara and Michelle were cousins? I had foreknowledge of it but I don't think anyone was buying the cousin thing, even in the show itself.

Well it along with Cardcaptor Sakura were some of the first mainstream children’s anime that went so far as to feature a plethora of canonically queer characters and couples, due to this, both series are currently held up as being cultural LGBTQ icons among most queer Millenials and Zoomers around the world who grew up with both shows.

I would say Sailor Moon in particular definitely qualifies in all it’s various incarnations. The 90’s anime has not only HaruMichi and KunZoi as official couples but there’s also Fish-Eye and Fiore (a whole entire movie centered around him and his crush on Mamoru might I add) the Starlights having trans themes and Usagi feeling attracted to Seiya despite finding out they’re also Sailor Star Fighter, not to mention the heavy shipping subtext that is Reisagi, Ami/Mako, (along with Mako’s canonical crush on Haruka) Demande/Saphir, and Siren/Crow. Heck, the 90’s anime even features a filler episode with a gay couple serving as the VOTD and they’re portrayed in a positive light!

And while the Manga might not have any gay/bi male characters or couples it has yuri shipping galore with not only the official yuri flagship couple HaruMichi, but also Haruka/Usagi, Reinako, Chibi-Usa/Hotaru, Seiusa (and Seiya is now a cis lesbian in this continuity), and even a bit of Mina/Usagi. (Hell, both Usagi and Minako are outright crushing on girls in this version with Usagi getting heart eyes the first time she sees Rei and Mina getting her own heart eyes over Mimette) Even the entire Amazon Trio are still somewhat queer in this version, while none of them appear to be of the gay male variety like in the 90’s anime, (i.e. Fish) they are canonically described by Naoko as “Okama” in the Material’s Collection and Hawks-Eye outright crossdresses too so they might either be just Drag Queens or actual trans people. Not to mention the fact that unlike it’s 90’s counterpart, the manga barely has any relevant male characters with Mamoru being the only male that’s significant. Naoko actually said that she did this because she wanted to keep the main focus on the girls front and center which is a common genre trope characteristic of yuri.

Even PGSM still has Reinako, this is definitely one of the queerest Japanese franchises I’ve ever bore witness to.

Anyways another new rumor I just thought of that anyone will be familiar with if they watch the Sailor Business podcast: In the 90’s anime Wiseman’s true identity is actually Jadeite. NQS managing to melt away the Great Ice Calamity accidentally melted the Jadeite icicle in the process and he dons the new identity of Wiseman in order to get revenge on the Senshi.

It's got a Total Recall feel.

Sailor Moon is actually based on the real stories of Takeuchi & her past incarnation themselves.

:usagi: and :chibiusa: digiwarps to....................

Spoiler: show
.....................PQ ANGELS!!! :googly:
Actually the main characters of Ojamajo Doremi have once transformed themselves into roaches (not sure if that plot was inspired by PQ Angels, tho lol ), so why can't the Senshi (at least Usagi & Minako can do that w/ their respective gadgets, not to mention all the Inners in PGSM can, too, w/ their phones)?
