Does anyone liked Sailor Moon Eternal used the Japanese Honorifics"chan's or kun's in the movies?

I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would...with that said, I think it was a bad call since it was never done previously.
Me in 2000-2008 would be ecstatic over the choice, but now I feel it comes off a little forced and weird, like anime fans pretending they are Japanese.
I believe it was a request Naoko Takeuchi made specifically though, to have it in all versions.

Takeuchi might've got wind of overseas fans being ecstatic over it, hence making that request to appeal to them & boost overseas sales.

Considering it is alredy a bit cringey when some actors pronounce some Japanese names, it was really funny and despite the good performances it sounded fan-made. Everytime I see/hear honorifics in translation it reminds me of bad fan subtitles from the 2000s... It is really sad, because the viz cast always sound great in Crystal and the script was otherwise great as always.

I'm cool with it.

I didn't know honorifics was so controversial among the fandom. Since I don't really watch other anime and the story does take place in Tokyo, the use of them makes sense in my mind. And it gives you an insight on their relationships. Like Diana using -sama with Usagi and Mamo. It's also stresses the impact of the nickname "Usako" when Mamo first says it. And it seems without the honorifics, localized names make more sense and then you end up with Darien, Lita, Serena, Michelle, Molly, Catzi...
