Turns out, everyone's Independence Day 2100 was bad to terrible for the cast, depending on who you ask.

Neo-Queen Serenity -- Killed the Sentinel of Liberty (at his request), but still. Killing is not something that she enjoys, especially someone like the Sentinel who is a decent person (but is tragically unable to side with her due to his nature). Being unable to save him hurts.
Sailor Guardians and King Endymion -- Watched Neo-Queen Serenity kill the Sentinel of Liberty. Being unable to save the Sentinel hurts.
Professor Lohengramm -- Documented this entire scene, and he also sees it as a failure that there was no convincing the Sentinel.
President Rogers -- His best friend died.
Sentinel of Liberty -- Dead.

Maybe NQS would dedicate the former national day of America as a memorial day for him? :)

I have no clue what to do next.

Speaking of a memorial for the Sentinel of Liberty, here is his respect thread

Finalized Sentinel of Liberty Respect Thread

True Form: 3-A (Universe level) minimum, probably low 2-C (low Multiversal) with Limit Break (Fought Super Sailor Uranus although neither was at full power. Fought with Neo-Queen Serenity for some time and caused her to put some effort but was unable to damage her; survived one attack from her--but lost to Silver Moon Crystal Eternal Power, which killed him.) (According to Vsbattles, Neo-Queen Serenity is a 2-C character)

Source: "The End of the Sentinel of Liberty"

Weaknesses: He will fade away when the (former) Americans stop believing in him. Limit Broken Sentinel "burns his country's future to save its present". So when he uses Limit Broken mode, he doesn't just use the patriotism/love that Americans have for their country; he uses all the patriotism Americans will ever have--and this can be exhausted. As the Sentinel of Liberty is the incarnations of the ideals and values of the United States of America, this is something he will only use if his country is already doomed.

Neo-Queen Serenity purposefully lets the Sentinel of Liberty burn his limit breaker mode out so the (former) American people won't cause problems later (since their belief in America will have also burned out). The Sentinel is held together by the love Americans have for their country and its ideals. A stronger love (such as the love Neo-Queen Serenity has for King Endymion) can overpower the Sentinel of Liberty and rupture his insides.

Notable Deeds (other than strength)

Brought faith back to America in a time hardly anyone believed in it.
Played instrumental roles in fixing the Mt. Enigma Crisis and the election of President Adam Rogers.
Met with every Sailor Guardian.

As for the Sailor Moon content... I'll probably have more of it, but I don't know where to go.

That's pretty clever for her doing so.

So the whole thing is basically love vs love w/ one prevails in the end. :)

It's been a while since the last update. Here's another one. A random incident/sub-story. Yes, it's chronologically out of order, but

The Mauna Kea Explosion

Besides Mt. Enigma, Mauna Kea, Hawaii, was also the site of another big cleanup operation in the USA by Crystal Tokyo and the Heavenly Knights. On Mauna Kea, an inactive shield volcano in Hawaii, there was a set of observatories for astronomical use. Near the observatories was a research facility designed to study new forms of energy and power, and perhaps to reverse-engineer Crystal Tokyo energy technologies for American use. Technological development and refinement occurred in the Mauna Kea Energy Research facility at least until October 27th, 2096 when the Mauna Kea Explosion occurred. This would be the single most destructive disaster in American history 2008 onwards.

The main problem was trying to study the Muramasa alongside Crystal Tokyo-made microfusion drives. The Muramasa is capable of absorbing huge amounts of energy into itself, and American scientists wondered if it could be used to make some kind of extremely advanced battery. However, the Muramasa functioned this way because it was some kind of entity that fed on those large amounts of energy. It was not made out of a mere energy-dense unknown material. In some ways, it could be similar to a Lemure or a Youma, but more powerful–before its destruction, there was a hypothesis that it could be connected to Chaos somehow. In its original form, the Muramasa looked like a curved sword. It then was connected to a giant fuel tank and supposed to be a massive energy store. That was the first mistake: thinking the Muramasa could be used to serve the United States. The second mistake was putting Crystal Tokyo-made microfusion drives in proximity to the apparatus. All the energy that was used in the drives was absorbed by the Muramasa.

The Muramasa then transformed into a horrifying shadow-like entity whose first action was to level the entire Mauna Kea mountain, killing over a hundred thousand people in a single blast–in far less than a second. Worse, this tore the entire mountain leaving behind nothing but rubble in the ocean. Considering this is the largest mountain if you consider height from the sea floor, that is a terrifyingly destructive feat. You could say that the Muramasa moved mountains.

Sailor Mercury, Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, and Sailor Jupiter were rushed in to deal with this new monster. The Sentinel of Liberty also showed up, too. The blast from the Muramasa seemed to have expended much of its energy, which it replenished by taking the life forces of the hundred thousand casualties. The Muramasa attempted to fire massive beams at the four Sailor Guardians, but they dodged with no issues. The Sentinel rushed at the Muramasa with a punch, but the Sailor Guardians (currently in their Eternal forms) were faster.

“Sailor Planet Attack!”

The Muramasa screamed as it dissolved.

The Inner Sailor Guardians beat a monster and stopped it from damaging any other part of the world. But still, over a hundred thousand people died in less than a second. Considering the nature of the monster attack (over a hundred thousand people dead, much of Hawaii literally blasted away), Neo-Queen Serenity used the Lambda Power to restore all the people and all the land destroyed by the Muramasa.

If the USA scientific budget was not already gutted by the Crash of 2088, it was gutted now. A new scientific treaty developed by Director Ami Mizuno, Sailor Mercury, led to the heavy downsizing of American research unless it had international supervision to prevent another Muramasa incident. Only after planetary unification would science in America recover–and then vastly surpass anything before it due to Crystal Tokyo scientists and their ability to develop new technologies and refine old Moon Kingdom ones.

Incidents like this is one reason why research into anything magic-related is heavily regulated in Crystal Tokyo. In the Galactic Coalition era, Neo-Queen Serenity was able to get most galactic coalition members to agree to similar regulations on magic research safety (such as proper identification of magic artifacts prior to any testing) to prevent something like this from occurring elsewhere. Multi-national research initiatives also resulted in an increase in galactic technological development due to cross-pollination from various cultures. So the Mauna Kea disaster was a big learning experience not just for the United States, but for the whole galaxy.

Yes, that is clever.
I wanted to have a "Patriotic Love" character since there isn't one in Sailor Moon canon (despite so many characters being associated with forms of love). However, you cannot love your country as you love a specific person. So in this case the cosmic love of Usagi and Mamoru will triumph over the rapidly declining love Americans have for their country.

[Re: The 2nd last post above] I always think "magic" is actually a physical science too, only that it's on a way higher level far beyond the one as we understand. Magical incidents often seem to have broken the laws of physics or breaching the rules of how the universe is run, but in fact they do occur in accordance to some overriding higher laws or rules we haven't, if ever, understood yet. :)

So, I'm at a loss here. Not sure where to do next. Unless anyone else has any other ideas.

And... Happy Birthday, Tuxedo Mask/King Endymion!

Well, the end of America has already occurred in your descriptions of the timeline on this thread, so I think the thread has already completed its mission too, & w/e you'd do next would probably be on a new thread. :)

Three Monuments

Monument to the First Moon Landing

2040-onwards was not just competition between Crystal Tokyo and the United States of America. Both powers had frequent trade and cultural exchanges. Common agreements on issues like climate change mitigation also existed. Perhaps one of the most iconic joint efforts was a monument on the moon to commemorate the Apollo 11 mission: the first moon landing. Starting from 2040, there was a monument with a plaque positioned near the site of the first moon landing. The site itself is protected by a transparent force field, allowing visitors to see the site but protecting it from any interference. Both nations worked on the commemoration site. The moon landing site was a point of national pride for Americans–and people of American origin, even after the end of the United States of America, often made pilgrimages to it. Saluting the US flag is common there. Even Neo-Queen Serenity did this once, out of respect.

The plaque reads, “Here men from the planet Earth first set foot upon the Moon July 1969, A.D. We came in peace for all mankind.”

Chamber of the Adventures of the Sailor Guardians

There is a chamber in the Crystal Palace that is a shrine to the accomplishments of Sailor Moon, now Neo-Queen Serenity, Tuxedo Mask, now King Endymion, and their Sailor Guardian friends. Paintings of them defeating various enemies from Metalia to Sailor Galaxia lined the room. At one end was a stained-glass window of the Sailor Guardians and the Royal Family. Some of the wands, weapons, and other paraphernalia were stored there to keep them safe. There is also a timeline of their adventures and historian commentary on them.

A neighboring room has paintings of each Sailor Guardian and their famous quotes.

Some might consider this excessive bragging, but they have earned this right.

Sentinel Monument

There is a monument to the Sentinel of Liberty built in Washington D.C. after his demise a few days after that of his nation. His actions are described on the bottom, and he was respected as a worthy opponent. The morality of his deeds will probably be argued longer than he lived, but all can say that he exemplified the values of his country, even if it was not nearly enough to save it.

“While Crystal Tokyo may indeed be a utopia, that does not negate all the good things that existed between it and the Moon Kingdom. Just because you vote for NQS doesn't mean you wouldn't vote for the other guy in anyone but NQS was his opponent.”

That is the tragedy of President Rogers and the Sentinel of Liberty. Against almost any other opponent, they would have been great American heroes. Against Neo-Queen Serenity, they are exercises in futility.

While not doubting the sincerity in respecting human history, I think it's also a ploy of Crystal Tokyo to gain the goodwill of the Americans, as part of the long-term strategy to absorb America.

Of course that's part of Crystal Tokyo's propaganda program or public psycho-engineering project to consolidate its legitimacy & rule. lol

I'd say it'd become a sacred/holy site, especially for those few Americans who'd still be dreaming of or waiting for an American revival in the future like a religious/ceremonial custom over many generations. :)

Actually no. The plaque is already there. The Apollo 11 astronauts placed it there in real life next to the US flag. It's still there as are the footprints of the astronauts. And if NQS is really a queen worth following she's not doing it as a cynical ploy to absorb America. She'd do because it's the right thing to do. Anything else makes her look like the aliens from Independence Day

The Crystal Tokyo government on the other hand... well separation of powers means if the Prime Minister does something sneaky, it's not queen's fault now is it! ;-)

^ I was talking about the new monument as a whole, as well as the govt. of Crystal Tokyo as a whole - NQS, while sitting at the top of the regime, might've only approved the project proposed by her subordinates.

A meme from the Crystal Tokyo era... this time on the US Department of Defense and its failed attempts to contingency for Sailor Moon/Neo-Queen Serenity and her Sailor Guardians.

^ I think those uncounted billions had contributed to the snowballing federal deficit & helped bring about the ultimate fiscal bankruptcy & downfall of America. lol
