I'm as much a unicorn as Scotland's beast, an American monarchist. I do admire UK style constitutional monarchy, both the freedoms of democracy and the glitz of the royals in one package, everyone wins. :-P
What if Washington crowned himself like Napoleon? :oh my:

Monarchy, with all its pomp and pageantry, is a symbol that there is... something more than the mundane life we live.
It's also costly, especially for countries which economy is in bad shape, if not even on the brink of being broke. It can serve as good entertainment & diversion for its subjects, tho - members of the royal family are essentially "idols" & "entertainers" for the public, who pay taxes to keep the "drama" going. lol

The following video is from The Crown, a multi season show about the late Queen Elizabeth. It shows her coronation and is narrated by her uncle, Edward, who was king but abdicated before he could be crowned. In the show and in real life, he is often castigated as an irresponsible cad who cared nothing for his responsibilities. While that may be true, as Usagi/Serena or as NQS, our gal would likely be sympathetic due to the reason he abdicated... to marry the woman he loved.

Even Edward the abdicator knows how to put on a good show.
He's known over here as the man who "doesn't love the rivers & mountains [referring to the rule of the country] but loves the beauty," a Chinese idiom referring to the similar figures in Chinese history. lol

America is Deconstruction – A Postmortem

I considered the Sentinel of Liberty and President Rogers as deconstructions.

The Sentinel of Liberty is a deconstruction of the Captain America figure, but not in terms of personality. While Captain America was first seen in a moment of national courage (fighting Nazi Germany in World War II), the Sentinel of Liberty seems to have been made in response to a moment of national cowardice, or perhaps national retrogression. The Monsoon Incident was widely considered as America doing something that ran against its ideals, and the Sentinel therefore could be seen as a panic response by the United States to get itself back on track against the most formidable opponent it has ever faced.

While Captain America had his share of glorious victories, the Sentinel of Liberty is a legacy of failure. There is no great evil for him to fight–primarily just cleaning up messes caused by the American government due to the Mount Enigma fiasco and inefficient crime policies. The main opponents Captain America faces are evils that are usually vanquished; the Sentinel, on the other hand, is up against the most pure good figure in Neo-Queen Serenity. He is never capable of making much progress against Neo-Queen Serenity and Crystal Tokyo, and even his own people start to doubt the value of the American way and ideals. By the time the referendum finishes, the Sentinel decides that he has no purpose in the new world and decides to die for the sins of the United States of America. A big reason for this is that the will of the people rejected the American ideals of democracy and political freedom. Wanting a worthy death, he fights against the greatest Sailor Guardian ever, but there is no glory in this fight. This doomed last stand accomplishes nothing.

President Rogers is a deconstruction of “The Good President”. He attempts to fix the myriad problems the United States of America is facing, even adopting some methods from Crystal Tokyo to do so, but it is not enough. He also has more problems: many Americans are not invested in their democratic system of government, and he relies heavily on the Sentinel of Liberty to motivate the people–with mixed results. Despite his best efforts, the referendum happens, and passes with flying colors. Rogers, since he cannot go out in a blaze of glory, resolves to make sure people still remember America. Gone, but not forgotten. Cherish the symbols, and the identity, even if it is gone now. Never forget what was fought for, even if it was eventually hopeless.

The actual end is not like the Fall of Rome. Neo-Queen Serenity and Crystal Tokyo made sure there were no remnants and the actual transition is relatively smooth.

I would say so, especially since Neo-Queen Serenity and Crystal Tokyo are often synonymous with social progress. Therefore, anyone who stood in their way would likely be seen as reactionary (even though neither the Sentinel nor Rogers really fit into "reactionary" as "socially conservative" since both seek out civil rights as part of the American ideal. However, they fit "reactionary" as "reacting to changing circumstances" rather than changing those circumstances since they needed to react to everything Crystal Tokyo is doing.

I would say that the Republic equivalent of this would be the expenses of government, particularly Congress and the Presidency. No doubt that there would be billboards or propaganda about "the price of freedom is high" which explains just how much the US government costs, and compares it to the cost of Crystal Tokyo professionals who are more efficient and more cost-effective.

He's known over here as the man who "doesn't love the rivers & mountains [referring to the rule of the country] but loves the beauty," a Chinese idiom referring to the similar figures in Chinese history. lol
This also refers to the Sentinel--standing for not what America is/what America's government is, but what it should be/its ideals.

Every Inner Sailor Guardian talks with the Sentinel of Liberty

(Will do this for the Outer Guardians later)

Sailor Moon/Neo-Queen Serenity – We have already seen this twice.

Sailor Mercury

Sailor Mercury: “If you just believe in yourself, you can create any fate you want.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “That may have been true in the past, but I doubt this is going to happen against the greatest sovereign the world has ever seen. It would also be useful if the United States of America actually had more scientists and there was not a massive brain drain after the funding dried up in the Crash of 2088. You should know—you are partially responsible for this.

Sailor Mercury: “Yes, the scientists arrived in Crystal Tokyo due to the much greater technological opportunity, rate of scientific development, and funding. I did help with research and grant initiatives. You should know–your country failed to trust or keep your own scientists.

Sentinel of Liberty: “I will defy fate, as I always have. Let it be known that the last hero of the United States will not go quietly, nor give up.”

Sailor Venus

Sentinel of Liberty: “Ah, the architect of the Drip Site Massacre. That was when you and the Heavenly Knights interfered in the Monsoon Incident of 2076.”

Sailor Venus: “The US-backed private military contractors couped a Mexican government trying to join Crystal Tokyo–and killed most of that Mexican government. We could not let this go unpunished. The charter does allow us to target insurgent or private military groups, and Monsoon was the latter.”

Sentinel of Liberty: "You destroyed an entire army of Monsoon mercenaries almost single-handedly. Planes and tanks exploded while many soldiers were torn to pieces.”

Sailor Venus: "They deserved what was coming to them. The Monsoon mercenaries even tried to drop a bunker-buster bomb on me, but that failed to even scratch the make-up. Yes, I look very stylish, hence why the media called it the “Drip Site Massacre”. I know you were not formed yet, but why did your government take so long to take action?"

Sentinel of Liberty: “I think it was the self-interest of politicians and bureaucratic red tape. War must be decided by Congress, and by the time it came to a vote to do something about Monsoon, you ended the problem.”

Sailor Venus: “Your government is a disgrace for letting the Monsoon Incident happen.”

Sailor Mars

Sentinel of Liberty: “Apologies for the Dr. Hino fiasco. He died over a decade before I was formed. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is partially responsible for the whole scandal.”

Sailor Mars: He was wanted for espionage charges due to his defection and later work as an FBI asset. The FBI ought to have extradited him decades ago to us to be placed on trial.

Sentinel of Liberty: Yes, the FBI used him as an informant on the inner workings of Crystal Tokyo. We did not find out very much.

Sailor Mars: And your government never did the right thing and sent him back?

Sentinel of Liberty: I think this was about the time he perished. I am not privy to the situation. I would have persuaded the FBI to extradite him, but he was dead by the time I formed.

Sailor Mars: Perhaps Professor Lohengramm was correct at how ineffective and self-serving various parts of the US government were. He called America a piece of trash–at least without its commitment to the freedom of all.

Sentinel of Liberty: He should remember the second part of that saying is more important than the first.

Sailor Jupiter

Sailor Jupiter: “The Americans say you are their strongest hero. I want to see how strong. Do not worry, I will not hurt you.”

Sentinel of Liberty: "It's on, then." (Grapples Sailor Jupiter) “This is the grip of a man who would die for freedom. Look into my eyes–the eyes of one who would risk it all for love of his country”

Sailor Jupiter: (Overpowers unboosted grip when she was in her base form). “I expected a bit more. I know you have more than that.”

Sentinel of Liberty: (Powers up)

Sailor Jupiter: “Now that is more like it. Your technique is good, but it is limited by a lack of fighting experience against opponents of equal or greater skill.”

What I meant by their being reactionary is that they tried to halt or slow down the process of America going along w/ the global historical trends of the time.

I was talking about the constitutional monarchy, not the absolute monarchy - the former also incurs all those expenses of the republic you mentioned above, in addition to the ones for maintaining the monarchy.

BTW, I'd like to see the scene featuring the formation of the Sentinel - I suppose it'd look epic/spectacular. :D

I stand corrected about the "price of freedom is high" comment. Thanks for the correction.

In that sense, yes the Sentinel and President Rogers are reactionary, trying to halt the process of America going along with the global historical trend of that time, which is "Everyone joining Crystal Tokyo".

As for the Sentinel's origin--I don't know exactly what to do, unless you have ideas. I don't know how to make it spectacular. My original thoughts was he was made by a massive plume of energy at the Lincoln Monument that coalesced into a person-shaped entity, with the transformation rather similar to the those of the Sailor Guardians before taking physical form.

I'll go write it out later.

Also some more headcanons:

Neo-Queen Serenity is a closeted anime fan. (Yes, she made one such allusion in her original meeting with the Sentinel).

Sailor Neptune/Michiru Kaioh has the tendency of studying American art (or having others study it) to figure out how American culture works, and from there find ways to influence them or get us to join Crystal Tokyo. (Some compare it to what Thrawn does in Star Wars, for a May the 4th ref)

The Sentinel of Liberty likes music of the 1990s America, its peak in terms of global influence. His favorite artist is Tim McGraw.

I think that already sounds pretty awesome! Maybe AI could help creating that scene w/ the equally awesome sound effects & background music (perhaps a modified, orchestral version of The Star-Spangled Banner?)? :D

The Origin of the Sentinel

America had been left questioning its own purpose after the Monsoon Incident in 2076. With its politics in turmoil and the electorate voting out the politicians they deemed responsible for the whole fiasco, America wondered who to trust next. Many people wanted a figure they could rally around, especially with the credibility of politicians and the military sinking like a ship that just hit an iceberg. Approximately four years after the Monsoon Incident, the prayers of the Americans would be answered one fateful night outside the Lincoln Memorial.

That night just seemed like every other night, until some strange lights began to show up at the front of the Lincoln Memorial. The security guards at the site were transfixed by it as the strange spectacle. Large flashes of red, white, and blue energy descended from the sky and started spiraling inwards until they had coalesced into a form roughly in the shape of a man. Despite the lack of cloud cover, it seemed like thunder was coming from overhead. The head, body, arms, and legs formed while a red, white, and blue costume materialized immediately after. The man, or whatever this was, looked outwards at the country he was sworn to protect.

Voices boomed in his head. “Welcome, Sentinel of Liberty. Democracy and the American way are in unparalleled danger. Defend them and make your country proud.”

The man walked down from the Lincoln Memorial, eager to begin his task. He would start reading on the state of his country--it was in very poor shape, but it would take time to solve the many problems and motivate its people to believe once more in the American Dream.

(While no music was playing during the transformation (sound is usually diegetic unless someone is actively playing or piping in music for the scenes), I take a pipe organ version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” would be playing).

The next day:

Sailor Jupiter: “Calls an Inner Sailor Guardian meeting”

Sailor Mercury: “A huge flash of magical energy has been spotted at the Lincoln Memorial. It appears to have coalesced into a man-shaped figure wearing a red, white, and blue costume. Curiously, the energies emitted seem similar to those produced in a Sailor Guardian transformation, but everyone knows that men cannot be Sailor Guardians.”

Sailor Venus: “I will investigate who this is, and what he is capable of.”

Sailor Mars: “If he is a threat to Crystal Tokyo, we will have to deal with him. If he could be an ally, that would be beneficial. Perhaps some agreement can be made.”

Pop-Culture Allusions I have made

Senator Bass Armstrong may refer to either Dead or Alive Bass Armstrong or Metal Gear Senator Armstrong.
The Sentinel of Liberty resembles Captain America with the Iron Fist power (but much stronger than both of them, as he could combat react somewhat to Neo-Queen Serenity)
“Oh, you’re approaching me” alludes to Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure
Professor Lohengramm may allude to Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Adam Rogers may allude to Fred Rogers.
The Sentinel as a “man with no name” alludes to “The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly”
Fifty States Finish is likely inspired by United States of Smash from My Hero Academia combined possibly with Shining Finger from the Gundam franchise.
Everyone congratulating Neo-Queen Serenity alludes to Neon Genesis Evangelion.

If you have any ideas for pop-culture allusions, please tell me!

The more I read, the more I think of Sentinel of Liberty. I mean, yes realistically, if the Great Disaster and Crystal Tokyo were to happen there would be global repercussions. The return of magic, a one world government, the rewriting of history, its the end of the world as we know it. And yes the upending of the global system the US created in the wake of WWII

I could imagine a Cap analog serving as the hero of the post-America of Crystal Tokyo. Its no longer a single country under a single government but as long as they believe in freedom, the Cap analog will be there protecting the innocent and upholding the American dream. And would NQS and crew really be against a guy whose only mission is to help those in need? Who if he makes public comment, its to remind them respect each other's freedom, and to be good to their fellow Americans? I don't think so. Like I said, as long as there's representation, I don't think a guy like Cap would really care who's doing the taxation. I mean, he would want political unity but not as much as American ideals are practiced and upheld by the people.

In Sentinel I can't help but see... everything Captain America isn't. He's comparable to Marvel's John Walker, aka U.S. Agent. It was a story back in the 80s. The government realized that they had never actually discharged Cap from the Army and thus he still technically worked for them. They asked him to come back and serve as a special ops/propaganda symbol for the US government. He acknowledged they were legally right but rather than risk moral compromise, he turned in his uniform and shield. He took up another costumed identity and wished the best of luck to the new guy.

Alas, they guy they chose to replace Rogers was a man whose loyalty was not to American ideals but to American symbols and American prestige. Yes John Walker was a reactionary right-wing nationalist fighting for the silent majority--or to make America great again. Just read his dialogue!

This should never have happened -- none of it! And I don't want to be part of your costume party -- endangering everyone, making cosmic enemies with your unsupervised, dilettante games! It's the little guy I care about -- the little guy, the silent majority -- the people who shouldn't have to have their lives interrupted and threatened by all this super-violence that erupts without warning! Keep your congratulations! I'm just going to keep doing what I'm doing -- being the guy who makes sure all the super-crooks and monsters are subject to the same damn laws as everyone else -- making sure they know that they -- and you -- are nothing special! Nothing at all!
Walker isn't a bad man. He did some good as the temporary Captain America and later as US Agent... but as a symbol for all Americans, he fails. What does Rodgers, the sentinel of liberty say to this? What does he say to reactionaries who are determined to protect America's greatness? What do you think he'd say!

I might be American monarchist... but I'm still an American!

Perhaps that role could be played by a "Sailor America," a quasi-Senshi working closely w/ Crystal Tokyo for the people in the former US territories?

The Sailor Guardians and Their Responses

2085

King Endymion: “So Canada and Great Britain just joined Crystal Tokyo. The United States of America is now truly alone.”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “We will incorporate it, too. There is this ‘Sentinel of Liberty’ person who is supposedly the ideals of America operating, but I doubt he will be that big of an obstacle. In terms of helping Americans, I will not oppose it. His heart is in the right place, and where we disagree on is the viability of the United States in its current condition.”

2086

Crystal Tokyo legislators: “What just happened?”

Sailor Uranus: “It appears that there is a dark energy reading from a place in Colorado, United States. This has signatures very similar to D Point in the Dark Kingdom Conflict. Something needs to be done before any Chaos entities appear, or we need to destroy any Chaos entities that have already appeared. Talk to the US military branches and ready the Heavenly Knights.

Sailor Saturn (walks in): “I will also be joining the expedition. As the Soldier of Destruction, I am specialized for the elimination of Chaos-adjacent threats.”

Crystal Tokyo legislators: “As you wish. We will contact the US President, Congress, and military branches. Two companies of Heavenly Knights are ready for deployment, with more available if needed.”

_______________________________________________________________________

2086, Mount Enigma

The Sentinel of Liberty and a few Army Rangers end up meeting a company of Heavenly Knights and Sailor Saturn.

Sentinel of Liberty: “This is an American black site. It should be an American matter.”

Sailor Saturn: “Due to the nature of the explosion and the resulting released monsters, the Sailor Guardians have priority for dealing with Chaos-related threats.”

Army Ranger Commander: “Sentinel, I think I would work with those guys since they have more experience with this matter.”

Sentinel of Liberty (begrudgingly at first): “As you wish. Let us work together to deal with this threat. Sorry about the earlier misunderstanding.”

Sailor Saturn: “We have no time to waste. Move out, and follow my lead.”

Sailor Saturn: (Facing a huge youma abomination that combined with a scrap heap) “Death Reborn Revolution!” (Youma disintegrates)

Sentinel of Liberty: (Facing similar abomination not far) “These fists of mine burn with the power of hope! The hope that my country can keep its ideals intact despite overwhelming odds. Take this, abomination! My love, my fury, and all my sorrow!” “Fifty States Finish!”

(Youma dies in agony as it is punched fifty times by the Sentinel’s glowing fists)

The Heavenly Knights gun down some of the smaller youmas with laser rifle fire (which look like mutant black bears–perhaps the bear population near the black site was infected). The Army Rangers do the same (small arms fire does little, so they switch to RPG fire, which does work).

Sailor Saturn: “You fought well, Sentinel of Liberty.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “As did you, Sailor Saturn.”

Sailor Saturn: “The Heavenly Knights will look further into the ruined black site at Mount Enigma to ensure there are no new youmas being created. And let this be a warning to not experiment with the supernatural which you have no experience in.”

_______________________________________________________________________

2088

At the time of the Crash of 2088

King Endymion: “It appears that the New York Stock Exchange has collapsed. While the economy of Crystal Tokyo will be undergoing a downturn, this can be fixed in relatively short order. A far larger danger is to the United States and its economy. Some claim that this economic crash will be so severe that it will be called ‘The Great Disaster’ by Americans for multiple decades.”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “We will help the Americans because it is the right thing to do. Moreover, we will send them support to avoid a second American civil war, which would be catastrophic. Our own recovery will happen quickly. Helping the Americans will also increase our reputation with them, and perhaps assist with bringing them into the fold.”

King Endymion: “Many American companies will be fleeing their country to join ours even though we have stricter laws on pollution, labor rights, and taxation. There will also be a major transfer of academic talent to our country.”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “Ensure that aid is being used properly and we continue to utilize those new scientists, engineers, artists, etc. See if the elected legislature has any good suggestions too.”

______________________________________________________________

The Great Crash: Sentinel’s Memoir

As I traveled through America from 2080-2088, I saw a nation in decay, but there was still hope. Most Americans still believe in the founding principles of our country even though our country is facing the greatest threat to its existence in centuries. The possibility of an American assimilation is very real, and it is something I would dedicate my life to fighting against. I help wherever I go. Not just because others tell me to, but because I think it is the right thing to do. I have met Americans from all walks of life. Some idolize me, some respect me, and some barely care, and some distrust me. Many of the politicians even fear me, probably out of an unfounded suspicion that I could take away their power. It does not matter. Even if the entire country distrusted me, I would still stand by our founding beliefs and tell everyone to scatter.

The Crash of 2088 changed the entire national outlook. Despair seems to have permeated the entire country. Some economists are even calling the Crash ‘The Great Disaster’, as the final nail to the American coffin. I know the authorities of Crystal Tokyo are trying to help, but part of me is thinking this is a step towards our absorbance. It is ironic that hunger in America (which has become a problem due to the Crash) is being solved more by Crystal Tokyo than by our own government. Perhaps I just need to see more of what they are doing. Whatever the reason, their response is more effective than the response of the American government, which seems to be flailing. I have tried to rally Americans around our belief in political freedom, separation of powers, and representative democracy, with limited success. Strictly speaking, I do not have an official job with the US government–as I would not do something against the cause of liberty even if my government ordered me to.

As I walk through the shell that America is now, perhaps its own government is partially to blame. We may need to elect better leaders. The trouble is, I do not know where to find them.

-Sentinel, February 2089

2090

Sailor Saturn: “It appears that Neo-Queen Serenity has fallen ill mysteriously.”

Sailor Uranus: “Oh dear. Has the American Bird Flu epidemic spread here?”

Sailor Neptune: “I hope not. We are supposed to set good examples for the rest of the world.”

(An hour later) (Yes, in the Dream arc, it is said that Neo-Queen Serenity has fallen ill before some royal meetings. Something like that actually happened in the manga.)

Neo-Queen Serenity: “So, I have returned. The previous meeting I was in was exhausting.”

Everyone: “We had thought you had taken ill, perhaps from the bird flu epidemic that could have spread over here.”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “I appreciate your concern, but that is thankfully not the case. Speaking of which, I already authorized a vaccine effort combined with ramping up the research initiatives we already have. The Silver Crystal will also be very useful for dealing with the bird flu epidemic should that become a problem.”

2091

Neo-Queen Serenity: “This Sentinel of Liberty–he defeated Professor Lohengramm in a debate? How could the Professor lose to an American who should have vastly less experience than he did when it comes to these kinds of historical analysis and civic discussion.”

King Endymion: “Evidently, my love, either he had a bad debate day, or we are facing someone who could galvanize the hope of the American people despite the awful state their country is in. I also think the Professor should not have called America a ‘piece of crap without its commitment to the freedom of all people’. After all, I studied in the United States of America, at Harvard, and I still respect Americans and their country despite the decrepit nature of their government. Or maybe this Sentinel is just that skilled at debating.”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “I would like to meet the Sentinel one day, and perhaps change his mind. He should see what good we have done governing Crystal Tokyo. We helped most countries recover from the 2008 Great Recession, spearheaded vaccine efforts for pandemics in 2020 and 2050, ensured no major war has occurred since 2030, and brought forth an unparalleled era of prosperity. Even world hunger is no longer a concern.”

PS: The lights on the previous post--probably the energies that make the Sentinel. As for the voices, he has interpreted those to be the voices of the Founding Fathers.

I need to have the Sentinel be more like Steve Rogers Captain America

-There needs to be a “Sentinel vs. US government” (possibly set in late Gordon administration)
-Sentinel postulating about the liberty of all beings?
-Loyal to nothing, but the dream

As for the new Sailor idea, you will like what I have in store...

Her most recognizable special moves remain the Hyakuretsu Kyaku, a series of quick kicks from a one-legged stance (usually referred to as Lightning Legs/Kicks in English)

Sentinel, as a Captain America expy, also has a shield. (I have no idea why I didn't have him use it in the Neo-Queen Serenity fight. Perhaps that would be no good against the reality-warping power of the Silver Crystal.)

Outer Senshi Meet the Sentinel

Sailor Saturn

Sentinel of Liberty: “Thank you for helping with the Mount Enigma Disaster. Your arrival and that of the Heavenly Knights was very important in containing the damage.”

Sailor Saturn: “You are welcome, but that should be a warning for your government not to tamper with magical artifacts. Unlike us, it was clear that your scientists lacked the knowledge to work with the D Point artifacts properly.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “That is understood and to be noted. I think that was a moment that reeked of desperation, trying to compete with you and still failing.”

Sailor Saturn: “So I believe. I think the destined death of the United States of America will soon be at hand, but something brighter will be reborn from it.”

Sailor Uranus – I have no idea what this interaction would be like.

It’s possible to have them talk about pragmatism and how that does not work anymore, but I thought pragmatism was more of a trait of anime Sailor Uranus, not manga Sailor Uranus. Sword vs. Shield fight could work, but I would prefer them to talk it out.

Feel free to add suggestions for this

Sailor Neptune

Sentinel of Liberty: “I think I know why the art scene in the United States has collapsed”

Sailor Neptune: “The Crash of 2088 causing federal funding of the arts to dry up? The private sector being walloped by the collapsing economy?”

Sentinel of Liberty: “That, and your organization pulling most of our artists. This also applies for the film and music scene.”

Sailor Neptune: “I knew it was bad for your country, but not that bad. At this rate, the Professor will be correct at his estimates of absorption, around 2099 or 2100. I, and many others, have been studying the art of your country to better understand its psychology and how to make use of it.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “As long as I stand, I will uphold the beliefs of my country. What it should be, not just what it is.”

Sailor Pluto

Sentinel of Liberty: “Sailor Pluto. You can peer through time. When do you think was the time when my country became untenable?”

Sailor Pluto: “I am supposed to use my powers wisely. That being said, I can answer your question. I would say that the growing suspicion of Crystal Tokyo in the United States in the 2060s and early 2070s did not help, but the real moment where time and fate became opposed to the United States was the Monsoon Incident. I think our countries could have come to an agreement in the 2060s.

Sentinel of Liberty: “That was what I had expected. It is a shame that agreement never worked very well.”

Sailor Pluto: “I would say that fear of being completely outcompeted by Crystal Tokyo caused many American politicians to become distrustful, and perhaps some feared the loss of their power too much. Ironic: their fear of losing their power will lead to them losing all of it.”

I have no suggestion here, but think that Moon Frisbee vs his shield would look awesome :oh my: - too bad Sailor Moon doesn't exist at the time. lol

Fear can make one mad, thereby hastening their downfall.

More Sailor Guardian Interactions in this period
After the Sentinel and Neo-Queen Serenity meet each other (Some time before 2096)

King Endymion: “So, what do you think of the Sentinel of Liberty?”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “I wish he would see the world like I do. As it stands, I think he would be a good rival, something I never had. This might be interesting. Every enemy I have ever faced was either connected to Chaos, evil, or both. The Sentinel is an exception, and I would like to see how this pans out. It would give me something to work against these next few years as I figure out how to eventually incorporate the USA into Crystal Tokyo.”

Sentinel Memoir,

I had the pleasure of meeting Neo-Queen Serenity. She had wanted to see me to figure out more about this hero of America that had beaten Professor Lohengramm in an argument about political freedom and had done more to galvanize the American spirit than any other since 2080. I think she also wanted to find out more about what makes us as Americans tick. The fact that I was wanted instead of, maybe the President at the time, perhaps suggests how inadequate the President was at that time. Or maybe she thought of me as a kindred spirit of sorts, America's counterpart to herself and the Sailor Guardians. She had gotten everything she wanted from that meeting. Suffice it to say that against someone of her skill, I stood no chance, but it was an enlightening experience.

I have to give props to the sovereign of the New Silver Millennium, Neo-Queen Serenity, for her work benefiting human civilization. It's too bad it will be at our (as in the USA's) expense.

Civil Rights and Pursuit of Happiness have at this point been just as associated with Crystal Tokyo as they are for the United States of America. There is an elected legislature there, but I hold a low opinion of it since I think they are there to perform the will of Neo-Queen Serenity and the Sailor Guardians and do all the local administration they have no time for rather than being truly independent. She is just as much of a challenge to America's ideals as to its physical state. Due to her unparalleled skill and benevolence, she is the greatest challenge America has ever faced, and the worthiest challenge for me. It is too bad that we cannot agree, and we must face each other for the fate of the United States.

Our opinions of Crystal Tokyo have varied across time. At first we were curious, perhaps friendly. Then many American administrations became alarmed that most countries were joining them, including many US allies, despite our diplomatic moves. I would say that the USA made a major blunder in the 2070s allowing private military contractors in an attempt to shore up since that led to the Monsoon Incident and Drip Site Massacre. Following the Monsoon Incident, many Crystal Tokyo figures became angry at the United States for it. Thankfully, Neo-Queen Serenity and the Sailor Guardians still respect us, even Sailor Venus who was heavily involved in fixing the mess. I cannot fault my people for not having the best relationship with Neo-Queen Serenity and Crystal Tokyo--I am what America is supposed to be or America's ideals, not what America is like now.

2096

With William Gordon being term-limited, he cannot run again for reelection. He was terrible, so the American voters wanted someone very different from him.

Sailor Mars: “So it does appear like the Sentinel took your advice, my queen. While he did not run for office himself, he heavily sponsored a specific candidate, Adam Rogers, in the hopes of getting his ideals into reality. Rogers had won the election in part due to the support of the Sentinel of Liberty. We will see how well the new president performs. I think the American political system is so broken that no one can fix it, but he is welcome to try.”

Neo-Queen Serenity: “Professor Lohengramm claimed that the American focus on individual liberty hurt its recovery from the Crash of 2088 and the Bird Flu epidemic of 2090-2092. This has also made many policies that Crystal Tokyo uses to maximize prosperity, effectiveness, and happiness impossible. I am inclined to agree, and we will see how President Rogers manages this challenge in addition to every other challenge bearing down on the United States. We will be watching his career with great interest.”

2099

Sailor Mercury: The referendum process is scheduled for November 8th, 2099. Almost all projections state that the required 70% margin will be passed with flying colors.

Sailor Venus: Good. Finally we will have unification. The next stage of the Galactic Coalition is now upon us.

Sailor Mercury: The Sentinel stated that he would be fine dying for the sins of the Americans.

Sailor Venus: He need not expire. I know, he was an imperfect man in an era of Neo-Queen Serenity and her perfection. But there is much to live for. He is the embodiment of the American desire for freedom and liberty. Could it be possible that our sovereign could upgrade him into the incarnation of freedom and liberty of all peoples?

Sailor Mercury: That I do not know, but it may be possible.

Sailor Venus: “We are in luck. We have been able to make an artificial star seed which is a weaker version of a Sailor Guardian, but its mass production is probably not going to happen. Possible candidates can be found in the Senshi Trainee Academies. In theory, we could make a Sentinel replacement should he perish.”

Sailor Mercury: “In spirit, perhaps this would work.”

(PS: I'll probably have to describe Crystal Tokyo in this period more + perhaps the space drama too with the Sailor Guardians' issues there)

I have no suggestion here, but think that Moon Frisbee vs his shield would look awesome :oh my: - too bad Sailor Moon doesn't exist at the time. lol
You are right this is a cool idea! I should rewrite the Sentinel vs. Neo-Queen Serenity fight, and yes, she could probably do Moon Frisbee with her crown.

Sentinel vs. Sailor Uranus: Interaction

Here is the missing Sailor Uranus meets the Sentinel of Liberty interaction

Sailor Uranus: “So it is you. The greatest hero of the United States of America. I wonder how much its pragmatism led to its own downfall.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “I suppose so. Some American strategists had tried to use more underhanded methods to keep up with Crystal Tokyo..”

Sailor Uranus: “I used to be more pragmatic when I first started going on my adventures, but Neo-Queen Serenity, back when she was Sailor Moon, convinced me there was a better way. I think right now, given the ascendancy of Crystal Tokyo and the power of the Silver Crystal, the world has become more idealistic. More ruthless approaches such as those of the United States especially in the 2060s and 2070s no longer work. You could outsource the work, but not the responsibility and consequences. I think you yourself are also proof of this–you are a representation of the ideals of America and what it should be.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “Yes, that is what I am. Care for a demonstration on the indomitable spirit of the American people to keep their liberties?”

Sailor Uranus: “Yes, I would like to see it.”

Sentinel of Liberty: “Prepare yourself!”

The Sentinel equips his shield, made from an irreplaceable special metal alloy developed by American scientists. This was done in an effort to keep up technologically with Crystal Tokyo, but the raw materials were too rare for mass production. Seeing this, Sailor Uranus summons her Space Sword. This weapon is one of the three Talismans, and it is very powerful. The blade can be straight or curved depending on her preference.

“World Shaking!”

A ringed energy sphere appeared from her left hand, which she fired at the Sentinel. The orb traveled along the ground for some time before rising to meet his jump. He blocked the attack with his shield, straining from the effort. His right arm shook from the effort. Taking advantage of this, Sailor Uranus slashed at him a few times with the Space Sword. One of the slashes made it through, drawing first blood.

He responded, “Not bad.”

The Sentinel of Liberty charged his right hand, which also powered up his shield. He swung it at his opponent, who barely blocked using her blade. The young man then increased the pace of his strikes, and one made it through. The pretty guardian found herself launched backwards.

“Space Sword Blaster”

Wind-based razor-edged projectiles originated from her sword. The American hero gritted his teeth and blocked each wave in turn, but the last wave had so much power it forced him into the nearest wall despite blocking.

The relentless battle continued, Space Sword clashing against shield, the Sentinel throwing punches most of which were dodged or blocked, and both of them taking slight damage as the battle went on.

“This is nowhere near my full power. Uranus Crystal Power, Make Up!”

She transforms into Super Sailor Uranus.

The Sentinel of Liberty responds, “Nor is that true for me. You are very skilled, from what I have seen.”
