I see, but I think Captain America still uses even his shield as an offensive weapon when he throws it at his opponents. lol I also think swords were still being used (for actual combats, not ceremonial purpose) by the US military even tho firearms had already been available at the time, & bayonets & combat knives are still being used by them even nowadays.
If that's not your strong point, don't put too much efforts on it, I'd say - focus more on what you're good at.
Thank you so much for your support. I will focus more on what I'm good at. I think I've already said everything about the decline and fall of America in Sailor Moon from a sociological or historical perspective unless there are any more ideas you have.
Now here's something funny and sad at the same time.
At this point, the theme song for the Sentinel of Liberty is not “Real American” by Hulk Hogan.
It would be “Komm Susser Tod” from Neon Genesis Evangelion
Yes, the Sentinel wants to die, similarly to the narrator in Komm Susser Tod.
I know, I know I've let you down
I've been a fool to myself
I thought that I could
live for no one else
But now through all the hurt & pain
It's time for me to respect
the ones you love
mean more than anything
The Sentinel believes he let down his country, the United States of America. Living only for the love of his country was not enough, but it means more than anything else for him. While he loves all Americans, the people he is closest to are Adam Rogers and ironically enough, Neo-Queen Serenity (he cannot deny the good she has done for the world).
So with sadness in my heart
(I) feel the best thing I could do
is end it all
and leave forever
what's done is done it feels so bad
what once was happy now is sad
I'll never love again
my world is ending
The Sentinel of Liberty will fade when no one believes in the ideals of America anymore. This slow disappearance is horrifying for him, and he wants to die in battle against Neo-Queen Serenity. It would be a far better fate than gradually and inevitably fading from existence. With his country gone, he cannot love anymore, his world will soon come to an end, and he will schedule his own departure.
I wish that I could turn back time
cause' now the guilt is all mine
can't live without
the trust from those you love
I know we can't forget the past
you can't forget love & pride
because of that, it's killing me inside
He feels guilty about the whole collapse of the USA and how he was not powerful enough or skilled enough to stop it. He literally cannot live without the belief of Americans in their founding ideals, and when that passes, so will he. The Americans forgetting their past and their pride in their country is killing him inside, literally and metaphorically.
It all returns to nothing, it all comes tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down
It all returns to nothing, I just keep letting me down, letting me down, letting me down
In my heart of hearts
I know that I could never love again
I've lost everything
everything
everything that matters to me, matters in this world
As the United States of America reaches its ending, the Sentinel lost everything that matters. He has to accept the results, and therefore, he will meet his end.
I wish that I could turn back time
cuz now the guilt is all mine
can't live without
the trust from those you love
I know we can't forget the past
you can't forget love & pride
because of that, it's killing me inside
It all returns to nothing, it just keeps tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down
It all returns to nothing, I just keep letting me down, letting me down, letting me down
It all returns to nothing, it just keeps tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down
It all returns to nothing, I just keep letting me down, letting me down, letting me down
