I bought Glenat Sailor Moon manga at a comic shop near the bank where my mom used to work as a tween in the late 90s. Then buy VHS tapes at a pharmacy in Montreal Chinatown. SuperS became my favorite season. I got VIZ DVDs of SuperS and SailorStars. I am tempted to buy Sailor Moon Naoko Collection in September. The Eternal Editions are like 40$CAD each and Kobo does not have Volume 5 of the Eternal Editions off their website.

My bestie was making Sailor Moon themed Valentines and I asked her who the characters were and she told me about everything and then she let me borrow the 3 movies on VHS along with the SuperS finale episodes she recorded off of Toonami and needless to say I was hooked. I was 13 and it was 2005. I never got to see Sailor Moon airing on TV. I do remember finding the Sailor Moon SuperS movie on DVD at a GameStop for $10, my dad made me wait a week to get it but it was worth it to hear Moonlight Densetsu for the first time.

For the life of me, I can't remember. I'm pretty sure it was random, I caught it on TV and watched it. I wanna say it was before Toonami was a thing, but I could be wrong. I know I did watch it in Toonami's early days, with Moltar, but I swear I watched it before that.

It's a hard question to answer. I remember in middle school hearing about the franchise in passing. However I met a girl who was a HUGE anime fan which lead to me to watching the show on YouTube (specifically the DIC dub). Even if the dub was not the best for representing the show, it does show at least a portion of how good the characters are (imo). I just watched like 90 (I think i remember 90 because of how they YouTube videos were posted if that makes sense) (ish?) episodes on YouTube. Then I would just re-watch basically the first two seasons over and over again. Just in the last year alone I already finished the 4 season of OG sailor moon and now trying to watch season 5. :mako:

Call it fate or not, I discovered the Serie the first time they showed it in France, I think it was the 1th December 1993. I was in front of my favourite Kid Tv show "Le club Dorothée" and they announced a "super new series". I got hooked up immediately :loltext: (I always love transformation scenes from magical girl so....).

This TV show brought basically manga /anime in France. That why it's still after japan the second market in the world.

Should we not move this topic to general ?? and not Fandom.

I actually never watched Sailor Moon when it was on tv (I was probably still a baby when they stopped airing reruns). The first time I saw a picture of her was from a how-to-draw-manga book I got when I was probably 7. When my family moved to Maui, there was this library that had these two Sailor Moon picture books that were in Japanese, and one time I just decided to look up anime figures on ebay, I came across figures of those characters again and realized it was called Sailor Moon, then decided to start watching it on youtube when i was 10.

We need more new-generation fans - welcome to the fandom & this forum! :keke:

BTW, your banner is way too big - could you shrink its size? :)

Right when it came to the States via the DIC dub in 1995, I was 3 and one day woke up early in the morning browsing through the channels and I happened to catch an episode of it on Fox, I think it was a Molly and Nephlite episode or one of the Black Moon Clan ones? I was 3 so memory is very fuzzy but I recall getting up early morning to tune in since then, kinda grew out of it though once it aired off TV and only truly got into the fandom when I was like 8 or 9 and rediscovered it through the Promise Of the Rose R VHS movie (Yes I'm old)
