And anyway, if Season 3 is everyone's favorite season, that's perfectly fine. But, short of those who outright disliked Seasons 1 and 2 and thought 3 was good, is it really considered its own separate thing, like GT and Digimon Adventure 02?

Season I and II - the god awful looking seasons that started off the Reboot
Season III - the good season with character designs that actually looked brand new and good in ther own way (through profile shots are debatable)
Eternosmos - bad movies with zero storytelling structure and average animation. Character designs work when the right animators touch them. Music department is improved, though

At least the Nehelenia fight in Eternal was a HUGE improvement over the Nehelenia fight in Super S, and the other four Sailor Guardians got their shining moments. (Which they were denied in Season 1, and Season 2 demanded that they, except Sailor Venus, be captured, and Season 3 they got brief rivalry moments with four of the Witches 5 but more in their human forms than Sailor Guardian forms, here they actually win a fight and (except Sailor Mercury) destroy an enemy for the first time. (Well, second in Sailor Jupiter's case)

Cosmos, it was kinda fast-paced, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but there is such a thing as too fast-paced. Like Sailor Iron Mouse got only one scene, not sure if it was that way in the manga.

Are you talking about the actual Nehelennia arc resolution in the 90s, ak.a the first 6 episodes of Stars that are widely considered the best Sailor Moon content by many? Nehellenia in the manga has interesting connection to the past and backstory, which Eternal benefited from, but the overall battle was so dragged on and anticlimactic with all the dresses and constant princess princess mumble by the ridiculous mini sensi, compared the slow build up and tension in the 90s arc followed by the emotional resolution...Sure the manga has interesting horror imagery in the climax of the arc, but Eternal diluted them significantly. Overall the manga deserved a much better adaptation than that. In this regard Crystal III did the best job of adapting it in a comfortable series format. The problem with Eternal and Cosmos is they tried to fit full arcs with episodic structure into movies, which breaks the pacing. And this is kind of silly, but I missed the whole anticipation of the next episode and the discussion of how will they adapt this and that. Having 6-7 acts crammed in 70 minutes kills the impact.

You might as well be Sapphire132. (Well, other than the fact that your avatar is my favorite villain of all time, unless it's someone else who happens to look a lot like Sephiroth?) But I'll respect your opinions and won't hate on you for them.

I hope so. We can all agree or disagree without being haters. Like I said once I actually enjoy Crystal, but as a so called "manga purist" I can be pretty harsh on it sometimes as an actual adaptation of the story I love. (As for the name thing - I was on here for the longest of time using the nickname sapphire91, sadly I forgot my password and I have no idea what email I used to create it way back when, so... I got my Rebirth :D And yes, it is Sephiroth anime style fan art)

I admit I was a bit annoyed by parts of Season 1. And yes, I wish more people could disagree as respectfully as we do.

I wonder when something is telling a one continuing story that references events from the previous "season" directly should be divided?

But, of course, I do still recognize the different seasons telling their own self-contained story, other than Chibiusa appearing at the end of Season 1, and the bell being heard at the end of Season 3 foreshadowing Pegasus.
Season 1: Dark Kingdom (Queen Metalia)
Season 2: Black Moon (Wiseman)
Season 3: Death Busters (Pharaoh 90)
Eternal: Dead Moon (Queen Nehelenia)
Cosmos: Shadow Galactica, was it called? And Chaos revealed

So, when listing the MVD's, I'd list them in this style. And in this case will include Cosmos.
  • Queen Metalia - Destroyed by Sailor Moon blasting her weak point with the Moon Stick. (Season 1)
  • Wiseman - Destroyed by Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon with Moon Princess Halation. (Season 2)
  • Pharaoh 90 - Slowly destroyed by Sailor Saturn with the power of the Silence Glaive. (Season 3)
  • Queen Nehelenia - Destroyed by Sailor Moon with Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss. (Eternal)
  • Sailor Galaxia - Turned to dust when her bracelets shattered on realizing that Sailor Moon embraced and believed in the distant future. (Cosmos)
  • Chaos - Destroyed by Sailor Moon with Silver Moon Crystal Eternal Power. Will reincarnate as Sailor Chaos in the distant future. (Overarching antagonist)
But still consider them the same show, just with different seasons and films telling their own story in continuity with each other.

This is the only valid division.
The good : Crystal S3
The bad: Cosmos and Eternal (although Cosmos is superior to Eternal and between good and bad actually)
The ugly: Crystal S1-2

Okay: for 1-2. Good: Season 3. Okay for the movies.. "Dreamos."

Entertainment wise: Season 3.
Real time/Dark wise: Season 1-2
Pretty-looking at times: Eternal and Cosmos

Eternal is a bit too hollow. Como's was better than it was.

Cosmos is dark. And maybe it's just me, but I feel that the Sailor Animamates got less screentime than the MotW's in the original series, other than Togetoge. Other than Aluminum Siren their deaths didn't even feel as impactful as any of the other villains, including ones like Xenotime and Zeolite.

The Animamates are the MOTWs/MOTDs/MOTSs* of Cosmos.

* Monster of the Second.

That made me laugh.

That was a good one. I think Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon holds the record out of all the villains in the reboot/manga.
