before this last time i was at a msg board was before fb and twitter was big xD itsall fine here
Oh wow, 11 years ago when Myspace and Bebo were around, I would role play Sailor moon on there and I remember my experience being very fun and I loved it. I did that I think a few years before I came on here. I have always liked Sailor moon , but that was my first time experiencing the fandom online.
My first experience on MySpace was very positive and uplifting and there wasn't any drama or bullying going on. We all loved the same thing and that was amazing that I could find others to talk about it with. When Facebook and Twitter came, I think the role playing and the fandom started to become more cliquish and I started having more problems with fitting in , especially because Myspace got shut down and I lost touch with the other role players on MySpace. After myspace, I went to Bebo which I enjoyed for a while, but then it shut down and then all I had to role play was Facebook and Twitter.
I tried role playing on Facebook and twitter for a while, but then it started getting exclusive and just not fun anymore. I feel like the fandom tried to push me away and I did take a break from sailor moon after that. It didn't stop me from loving Sailor moon itself, but now I'm just more cautious with the fandom or any fandom that I am part of. It's just better to be careful. I also learned to never talk about personal opinions or issues with people you don't know because it just allows them to judge you before getting to know you. Never share anything unless you are comfortable with who you are talking to. It's just some advice for you and everyone else on here if you ever run into situations like that. Sometimes fandoms can get aggressive and push people away and steal their passions. As long as you don't allow people to steal your happiness, there is nothing wrong with loving sailor moon and enjoying the fandom.
If anyone remembers Bebo and myspace, let me know. Anyways I apologize for my long post, I just like to share my excitement for sailor moon and my good and bad experiences while being part of this fandom.
