Wow. They all look really good, especially in the group shot. I think what we ultimately got for Saturn in S3 is better than she looks in this style, imo, but she's the exception.
At least we got to see Pluto - and in one of the most beautifully rendered scenes in the show, too.
Here's also some by KrisRix (Mars, Molly from Sailor Moon Abridged). You can see that her style doesn't really mimic the Season 1 style but its somewhat similar in layout.

These are good for a cartoon version, but I cannot say they look like Sakou. But I won't mind such art for a cartoon version, actually it would be cool.

I mean the Bratz are working it, yas queens, etc. But like, Sailor Moon? I always hated the pouty lips. Naoko uses it when she feels like it in her illustrations which is fine but in animation? it just looks.. bad. There’s a reason most Japanese anime characters aren’t drawn with pouty lips. It crosses the uncanny valley and is definitely not ‘kawaii.’
It looks absolutely horrendous. It's to be expected, really. Crystal fans have zero taste. They love insect eyes, pouty lips, and bad anatomy. They genuinely believe that's what elegance and maturity looks like. Yukie Sakou's monstrosities like the one below actually looks good to them.
But is there really anyone in their right mind who likes this monstrosity of designs? Takeuchi's style - which is none other than the design of Nakayoshi's mangaka from the 80s - is for static drawings. It seems like people just can't wrap their heads around it.
