Umm... I don't. :D

But speculation is pretty much all we have right now, and you know how pointlessly lengthy those can get.

Lots of CGI probably and angled close up of ribbons waving through the air wrapping Usagi (Toei also had this stuff when Goku was fighting Bills). I imagine they would resemble something like the transformations in Suite Pretty Cure slightly maybe...if you catch my drift.... :ninja: I do hope they are smooth and pretty and not smash-bam- in yo face (although since its been said dreamy, I dont think it will be hopefully). Even though the transformations will be high priority, I am also very curious about the attack sequences. Will they stocked every episode or handled per situation, as in used in a different way like in the R movie (which I suspect may be the case since the guy that was a part of that will be working on this too).

I hate you for this thread title. For a brief instant I thought we had a new clip or something. :(
Yeah, I got excited for no reason, too. But I'm glad the brooch's original design is there; consider it my top favorite one out of all the others Usagi had. Also, I'm hoping for the transformation sequences to be smooth yet mildly brief.

I want the stock footage to remain as close as possible to the original, meaning smooth, simple but beautiful, and fun to watch every episode. Not 5 minute long, over-the-top, CGI-filled sequences. Same goes for attacks, i wouldn't like those pretty animations to only be used for one episode. :blue:

I'm not really a fan of stock footage sequences in general (though I kind of liked the way that Cardcaptor Sakura had them but they were different each time, because her outfits changed). At least Sailor Moon was never quite to the Nurse Angel Ririka level, where it felt like half the episode was stock footage - she had to summon her weapon, then charge the weapon, then attack, each of which had its own sequence...

I really liked the transformation sequences in the Madoka movies, though, where each was different. I doubt they have the budget for that kind of thing in Crystal, but I can dream, right?

After ten years of transformations in Pretty Cure and, even worse, the ones in Aikatsu I certainly hope they're a flash and they're done. I'm sick of skipping 30 seconds ahead every time I hear the musical queue for a henshin.

Wouldn't flash-bang transformations go against what made SM, though, which is esentially about exhibiting that unique underlying sense of aesthetic style? We all know the ones from the '90s anime were incredibly lengthy at times. Although hopefully the ones we see in Crystal would be much more brief this time around. :)

The transformations in the manga always seemed pretty much instantaneous, so maybe they will go that route. I wouldn't argue, since that would leave more episode time for other stuff...

I would like for them to still use elaborate transformation scenes, employing the best animation/3D techniques that have come out since the original anime.

However, I don't want them to use them in EVERY episode. I think one of the things that annoyed me the most about the original series, especially as it got into the 3rd+ seasons, was that no matter how many Senshi were in the scene, how much was going on, what the plot was, you HAD to see 100% of Sailor Moon's transformation. Cutting down her attack or transformation scenes was extraordinarily rare, even if the other Senshi showed up already transformed or only got a split-screen few seconds worth of their transformations. Totally unnecessary. I get she's the main character, but we don't need to see it in every single ep... (PGSM was okay with shortening her transformation when necessary, now that I think about it, so hopefully we'll see something similar here.)

Here's a relevant passage from Animedia:

Since the original work was so gorgeous, we can now use the latest imaging techniques that have developed over the past 20 years to really convey that splendor. In particular, during the transformation scenes I’d like to use CG to capture the movements of the girls from different angles, freely use lighting effects, and have a flashy display of their twirling forms.”
Pretty much confirms that there are going to be elaborate transformations, and that it's going to be CGI. I honestly don't mind as long as it's tastefully done and not too long. The transformations in the original anime never bothered me to be honest (What actually bothered me was that Mars, Mercury, Jupiter and Venus had almost the exact same henshin for all five seasons of the original, but that's a topic for another thread).

Sounds great to me! If they could change it up by giving them the same sequence in each episode but altering the camera angles, that'd be an interesting (and fairly manageable) way to keep it dynamic and fresh.

I'd prefer quality as well. What I think made 90's Moon henshins so good, were their smoothness. Technically speaking, imo we already got to see them from different angles due to the energy enveloping their bodies and them spinning, etc.

Im quite curious about this from seeing "twirling forms" and "CG".

I'm perfectly fine with introductory transformations...but yes, I have to skip ahead all the time when watching the original anime. I get tired of seeing the transformations in every. single. episode. So they can be as beautiful as they want...but I'd prefer some edited ones as well. I take snack breaks during transformation sequences nowadays :P
