I'm REALLY bad with the actresses, to be honest. Lol. I only remember my favourites and the rest all fade into obscurity. Lol. I only know the name of one Tux, a few Mars, two Plutos, two Uranuses, one Neptune, four Mercurys, two Venuses, and two Jupiters. >.< I'm so bad. Lol. I really should know more...

I'm like that with most musicals though... like I only know the MAJOR actors from Rent and Wicked... but haven't gone all fanboy like a lot of the music fangirls are... I always find it weird how they get crazy over musical actresses.

Bad with actresses?! That's news to me. ;) Guess even you can't remember it all. But yeah, I have the same trouble with all of Setsuna-sama Myu actresses. Since I don't watch Myu as often as I should, when someone brings up the question "How many actresses played Sailor Pluto in the musicals", I have to dig deep in my mind for the answer. Better than cheating and looking up online.

:) I have a friend in theater arts and he always tells me how overrated Rent and Wicked are (thanks to the fanboy and fangirls). Never trying out any other musicals and such. I showed him some Myu performances, and he loved them.

Yeah... lol. It's really hard for me to remember all their names... I used to be pretty good with the main ones but as time goes by it's harder for me to remember all of them. But as long as I remember the Moon actresses' names it should be good. :) Lol.

The Sailor Moon musicals are really good... although typically only during their first acts. ^^;; Once the second act (which they call stage) begins things get confusing when they reveal the villains' intentions and stuff... it's just a general blur for me. Although, the Stars-related musicals are the easiest to understand.

Yeah... the fanboys and girls for those two musicals are pretty crazy. They were the stupid people in the audience at Idina's concert yelling out "Do Defying Gravity!!" and "We like you better green!" It's a major eye roll moment for me because I'm an all-around Idina fan and not just a fan who likes her because she was in Wicked... I never really got to see her in Wicked or Rent (besides a bootleg performance of Wicked on Youtube and the Rent movie) so I like her for her. ANYWAY... hahah... kind of off-topic here. But the reason Wicked and Rent are liked so much is because they're good. The music, especially, is really powerful.

So basically, it's easier for you to remember your favorite performers. :p j/k. With me, remembering actress/actors requires constant viewings. The more I watch, the more I remember who's who. I look up each Myu performer every so often anyway, and with that, they get stuck in my mind.

Getting back on topic, another character that needed a lot more time is Kakusui from episode 105. I know he was mentioned briefly before, but I thought I'd dig him up again. He was a good sensei for Mako-chan. Oh sure, she can fight and is more powerful than any human being on the planet. However, she learned a great deal from him. In a way that builds mental focus and following the correct path to achieving strength. It reminds me a lot of Master Gouken teaching Ryu in Street Fighter. While Ryu may be stronger (even without the Dark Hadou) than his Master, he still feels there's much to learn. Mako-chan felt the same when she mentioned her slump. Seeing Sailor Moon win every battle did light a fire in Mako-chan to improve.

If anything, Mako-chan should of visited Kakusui more often in the episodes that followed. At least one more time. ^_^' But that's just me I guess.

I think it's funny that Takeuchi's version of that episode was centered around Rei. :p And then in the musicals, Rei is the one who wants to go off training in the mountains. Haha. I think it'd be nice to see a Rei/Makoto martial arts throw-down against Haruka/Michiru. I think I've mentioned that before though.

Yeah, I think I mentioned it when someone said they thought it was weird how the Inners didn't bother to help Sailor Moon when she was going to get her ass kicked by Sailor Uranus and Neptune. I commented how it would have been nice to see a Mars/Jupiter fight between them. Although, that episode itself is kind of a joke because of Sailor Moon's cheapy Ryu Street Fighterness and the fact that the Outers still refused to acknowledge Sailor Moon as their princess until they got their butts handed to them by the Ryu move.

;) That's why Sailor Moon is #1. Besides, escaping Michiru's nicely applied hammer-lock is well within Usagi's abilities.

Any martial arts moment in Sailor Moon is certainly a welcome change to me. :) Besides, Haruka and Michiru were always the badasses. :) No leather-clad Sailor Senshi could ever be more badass than those two.

:) Haruka and Michiru were bad ass, no doubt. But like some bad asses in fiction, they couldn't quite get the job done. The Starlights on the other hand, cut Galaxia. Major props and respect. :keke:

yes the Starlights really impressed me with that, and earned my respect too.

Well they did have to make some dent on Galaxia. >.< Otherwise they probably would have been entirely pointless and would have made the Inners' deaths pointless (even though their deaths kind of were...).

Yup! I mean, they've always had my respect. But it sky rocketed when they cut Galaxia. Unfortunately for them, they weren't aware of her instant healing. :ninja:

Even if they didn't cut Galaxia, the Starlights lasted longer the Inners and Outers. Not to mention, went the distance with Galaxia. Takes a lot of durability and courage to go toe-toe with The Golden Queen. After everything she's done to them, just the idea of the Starlights fighting her to the death, gives them great purpose.

... wasn't the only reason they lasted longer than the Inners was because the Inners jumped in front of Galaxia's attack INTENDED for the Starlights... :ninja: If you ask me, I feel the producers were going "Okay, we pissed off Takeuchi and she's going to chop our penises of... what do we do?!?!?! I KNOW!! Have the Starlights last a very long time to make up for the fact we gave them male genitalia!"

Re: One hit wonder villains. What would you do with them?

I would have played up the incestuous vibe between Sapphir and Dimande a little more. Develop a little more sexual tension between them. It'd make an interesting pair. Lol. I mean, their connection has always looked a little more than brotherly to me so why not take it to that extreme? Shakespeare it up.
Re: One hit wonder villains. What would you do with them?

I liked how the musical did it. Sapphir had a incestual vibe going for Dimande while Petz was trying to impress Sapphir and have him love her. It's a bit like the Rubeus storyline but it fits better into a compact 2-hour format.
I would definitely expand on this, not just because I’m a Demande/Saphir shipper but the whole jealousy monologue Saphir gave to Esmeraude at the end of episode 83 and then admitted it applied to him too while giving the most evil of smirks told me that there was a lot of dark stuff going on in him, and actually following through with this plot thread would’ve been much more interesting than getting a whole episode dedicated to Esmeraude’s juvenile jealously. I’m not sure if Saphir actually counts as a “one hit wonder” villain, but he’s certainly one of the villains that got the least amount of screentime, and relative to what a deep and fleshed out character he was portrayed as in only those few episodes I find that a real shame.

As much as the villain characterization of the season was an improvement over it’s Manga counterpart (except for Rubeus) R’s villains arcs felt oddly unfinished, with only the Ayakashi Sisters getting a full, fleshed out arc and closure.

As for the actual one-hit wonders… Villuy is the only one on that list that actually had potential. Her superiority complex regarding her intelligence and belief that Science trumps everything as well as her rivalry with Kaori was intriguing and a lot could’ve been done with that if she were allowed to last more than one episode, she could’ve also continued to serve as a foil for Ami. I’m actually quite amazed that Ikuhara managed to get as much characterization into her as he did for someone who had as much screentime as a MOTD.

Tellu and Cyprine&Petriol are more difficult because they don’t have that solid base Ikuhara built up with Villuy and are also just MOTD in the Manga/Crystal.

Throughout the Sailor Moon anime series, we've seen major enemies (and I say major, because the following weren't simple henchmen.) that only lived for one episode/movie. Yes, some of them were seen for more than one episode, but when they're "up at bat" so to speak, they get wasted fast(like most manga villains). At times, the excuse is because of the plot needing to advance quicker(ex. The remaining Witches). Or, because the enemy was a ticking time bomb and needed to be stopped immediately(ex. Pharaoh 90).

My question is, what would you do with these unfortunate villains that had a lot of potential to live as long as the rest. Push the "if these enemies lived longer, the series would drag on!" mentality out of your mind for a minute and answer with your own possibilities.

I'll start with my second favorite season(Sailor Moon S), and it's roster of baddies:

Pharaoh 90 - Leader of the Death Busters. Extremely powerful and could only be taken down by the SMU's finest(Moon and Saturn). With everything on the line, I could understand why the strongest villain in the season had to be defeated quickly. Pharaoh 90 doesn't have a personality and only has destruction on it's mind. If I could extend 90's time, then I would love to see a long drawn out battle inside it's core, along with Sailor Saturn and Holy Grail Sailor Moon. While the confrontation worked wonders, a battle would be nice to see too.

Telulu - 3rd Witch in the line up. Most of us cheered her on for wasting Mimet. However, she didn't get a very long career. Seeing how ruthless she can be, I would of loved to see her get a long episode run. Then again, maybe that's my love for plant girls talking.

Viluy - Same as above, but would of been interesting to see last a while. Mostly because of her feisty attitude and disliking of Kaori(which always makes for good comedy and tension). Not to mention, she's quite intelligent(for the most part.). I see a lot of cunning episodes in a possible run.

Cyprine/Petirol - Two heads are better than one. While we didn't get to see much of a character study, the "last and greatest witch" of the Witches 5 put on one hell of a show. Their combination would of executed fast pace episodes. Cyprine is also rather cunning, would of been cool to see her (and Petirol) wandering around Tokyo messing with the helpless citizens in unison fashion. Doing the ol' twin routine in public, except in a more brilliant way. ;)

You can state and discuss the above, including the movies villains like Kisenian Flower, Snow Kaguya, and Badiyanu(which I will get to in the next post. What if they were in a series....what direction would you take them?) :D

I'll be back. Muahahaha....
I've thought about extending the other Witches time and here are some of my thoughts.

I imagine Tellu being similar to Mimete (and in fact possibly overlapping with her like Siren and Crow) only Tellu is serious about the mission. She'd use the Daimon oven like Eduial and Mimete, only her creations would all be made from plants. Uballa might even be her Daemon. At some point, she'd still kill Mimete. I imagine Mimete would soup herself up somehow like in the show only to try to kill Tellu as well to grab more power and authority. Tellu would strike back with joy. She'd meet her end in the same way, moving on to a mass Heart Crystal plan and it would be anime style with the Giant Flower. I always imagined a dark pantsuit for when walking around town in disguise, but other ideas would work as well.

Viluy would have a shorter but interesting run of attacking large groups of people for hearts. No Daemons for her, she'd use only her own inventions and technology. I picture possibly a video game contest where Shingo might end up as a victim. Her death would be inspired by her original stories...deducing Ami's identity and trying to acquire her heart. She'd probably operate in the background a lot, wearing her school uniform for any public appearances.

Cpyrine and Petirol would have only a handful of memorable episodes. I imagine they can't last too long because they are too strong, and it doesn't seem realistic to drag it out too much. Their goal is the Heart Crystals of the Senshi specifically. I must admit it's kind of hard to come up with the specific plans, but all kinds of things would work...threatening family members, trapping the Senshi in pocket universes, all kinds of fun ideas. I see their end being anime style, where they kill each other by accident.

I wish they had more episodes with Ryo Urawa and I wish him and Ami would’ve had a relationship.
