Well, so now that I've posted in Introductions, since I make some of my own Sailor Moon art from time to time, I've decided why not share it here?

I created this thread so that I can post whatever Sailor Moon art I've created only. If you would like to see anything else I've made, they're available to view on my other socials, like Twitter and DeviantArt.

I drew these two on paper June of last year. Currently it is all I've done that is Sailor Moon-related.

I might draw more at a later time. When I do I shall share it here!

I will try to contribute. I taught myself to imitate Naoko’s style, but that was a long time ago… :O

I used to draw a lot as a kid and I was very good, even won awards, etc, but I stopped drawing when I went to college and lost my ability.

I explored art again in 2017, but as a printmaker.

I can kind of relate honestly. As a young child I was really into drawing as well except I stopped during the teenage years. Only in the past few years when I discovered anime/manga I liked did the passion reawaken in me. At around the same time, having become acquainted with DeviantArt, did I find many others with similar views and interests as my own.

What I've learnt since then is how a little each day can go a long way. Frankly, gaining the skills is no easy, simple task. it takes time, patience, and practice. It took me a long time to get to where I am now. I'm convinced, however, that everyone's got the inner potential to become a skilled artist as long as they're passionate enough and willing to invest in themselves. I'd recommend studying the works of your favorite artists or animations. Use them as a reference, don't outright copy them and practice creating your own works. A half hour or hour each day consistently can make a big difference. It takes a lot of personal belief but its worth it.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you luck. I don't know much about printmaking but I think all of visual art's fantastic!

That's actually for the Japanese New Year, which's been on the same day as the Western New Year since the Meiji Period. lol
Not too sure what you mean, but this was intentionally created to commemorate the Chinese/Lunar New Year, hence the presence of the rabbits XD

I understand, but in your pic they're donning kimono, a traditional costume often worn in Japan in the New Year, hence my comment above.

Back in 2017-19, I was working a full time job, but also “practicing art” as a printmaker: I would sketch many objects, e.g. flowers, vectorize them & color them with very specific colors. Then I would create patterns and put the patterns on shirts, dresses, etc. I sold over $9,000 worth of merchandise I helped create, but I would only get 10% of each sale (a commission). Not a lot of money, but I am glad I have the experience to put on my résumé.

The pandemic disrupted many things in my life & now I feel it is a time for me to seek inspiration and not to create.

As of lately, David Hockney has been my main source of inspiration:

Yeah, it was meant to be a fusion of both Chinese and Japanese customs in a unique situation ^_^

Sounds like a very enjoyable and productive activity to do on the side. Even better that you have found it worthwhile! Also, thanks for sharing the video. Unfortunately, I haven't heard before of David Hockney and I've learnt about something unfamiliar to me.
