There's no "lu" in Japanese. Her name would be spelled Ru-na if transliterated directly, but since it's supposed to be Luna they wrote it that way in English (usually...)

In Boys Over Flowers, I see lots of people spell [what's pronounced in the English dub as] Lui Hanazawa as "Rui Hanazawa" - so that always confused me.
