I guess this it, no future anime, no future manga, no future anything...

Well, it was nice while it lasted.

How dramatic. Sailor Moon has been the same recycled content in some form for the last 30 years. If they feel they can make money off of it, we'll get yet another repackaged version of it again at some point.

We haven't had anything "new" beyond morsels in decades.

Leave me alone. I just want Disney to buy my Sailor Moon...

So instead of being a cat, Luna & Artemis would become Minnie & MIckey, respectively, w/ a crescent on their foreheads. :)
I would been open to whatever, as long as it is interesting.

People can say whatever they want about milking, or Star Wars, the whole oversaturation thing with Marvel, but to me this just means that fans are eating good.

Some stuff can be good, some may be bad, but at the very least both SW, and Marvel have future.

I would absolutely be for future retellings and / or reimaginations of Sailor Moon, or spin-offs, like focus on Endymion and Shittenou in the past, or Cooking with Ikuko, or How I Reincarnated As Queen Beryl, And Made Sailor Senshi Part Of My Harem...

I think that's what you really want. XD (BTW, it also sounds somewhat like Sakura Wars. lol )

For that to happen one of the big 3 from TOEI (One Piece, Dragon Ball or Precure) should either be sacrificed or slowly lose popularity (like Last Of Us 2 levels of fail).
Well One Piece is heading towards its end, but the problem is if they already have a powerhouse in Precure would they be willing to try for Sailor Moon again if Takeuchi isn't doing anything new with it? (Sailor V Anime when? LOL)

It isn't dead, it's just stale.
It will come back eventually.

And I do not want current day Disney near any anime franchise.
They didn't milk Star Wars and Marvel, they bled them dry then boiled the skins to get whatever juices were left.

Disney is morally, ethically, spiritually, physically, positively, absolutely, undeniably and reliably dead.
But, I do hope they make a comeback. I love Disney before the 2000s and a handful of things post 2000 like Tangled.
I'm one of those creepy silly Disney adults who is over 40 and wears Robin Hood t-shirts and collects Cinderella figurines.

But anything they'd do with SM in current year would be nightmarish, you can be sure.
Crystal was bad enough, my poor heart couldn't take what Disney would do to it.

So DC could do Sailor Moon a la Wonder Woman? lol
More like Sailor Moon a la Suicide Squad.

From an old article I've read a few years back Disney doesn't know how to draw anymore. They'll have to outsource and I don't even think they're interested. Looking at those Marvel 'What If's they are all stuck with that pseudo-2D CGI.

But, I do hope they make a comeback. I love Disney before the 2000s and a handful of things post 2000 like Tangled.
It's good to know at least on the Marvel side of things they're doing a big course correction like Fantastic Four. Other stuff I heard is they're getting another actor to play Black Panther and to my surprise Jonathan Majors may return.

Not sure about Star Wars but I'm not really invested in it.

i'm sure we'll get some new adaptation of it many years from now, but it's not like it really needs it or anything. the series has been finished for a long time now so it's mainly just retellings, though I think it's still fun to see it in various creative formats like the live show versions!

Disney still lands a hit sometimes, like all the stuff that started with Gravity Falls (2012) and then spreaded over with Amphibia and The Owl House. But yeah, "What if" wasn't really one of these. And not because of the Artstyle.

it's crazy that something like sailor moon can't be like gundam. that franchise gets new anime series every few years with different protagonists and stories. madoka magica has manga about different magical girls (e.g. oriko magica). evangelion occasionally gets a new reinterpretation of its original characters (e.g. campus apocalypse, shinji ikari raising project, the rebuild movies)...

i guess some material is conducive to a long-running franchise and some isn't ^_^' the plot of sailor moon might just be too thin for such things
