Someone definitely enjoyed drawing and animating Mamoru... those perfectly defined pecs... Come on, Talentless, we need those scenes of Mamoru shielding Usagi from the attack in this very episode. It’s so... intercourse/sexual climax in disguise.

These two are having here a more deeper connection and moment that anything I can remember from the Crystermos adaptation.

I wonder if the person who did those images actually watched the anime , mercury didnt even transformed in that episode ,instead of that we had to see the gentle uterus of Taiki 2 times in the same episode .

This is the only image that did happened.

I was watching the video of the magic lantern of the season s and super s , and they used images that appeared in the anime , so the stars one is the only one with exclusive images.

Thats not the only toy that differs with the content that its seen in the anime , here we have this proplica of the eternal brooch that sounds like anything but the ost that is in the anime

When a company does badly for one year at one of its toy lines. The next year it produces cheapier toys to product at the same price of the last year to compensate the loses, and we all know that super s didnt sold so well.

I just found it interesting.

Ail reedeming himslef by seeing the mutual sacrifices of sailor moon and mamorou each time they get the constant attacks feel more natural and credible than sailor mnemosyne becoming good and saving usagi just because yes , theres isnt any scene that could show us why Mnemosyne decided to help usagi even if she was at the dark side , she just see her and conveniently save her because teh plot requires so , but here we can see the deep look on the eyes of Ail and how the actions of usagi and mamo show him the true meaning of love.

Also how camp is it that they have a literal doom tree inside their tiny Japanese apartment? And Mamoru is in his socks the whole time he is trying to protect Sailor Moon because he probably left his shoes in the entrance

I think it's moreso because the R finale found itself inbetween the production of the R movie (which was really polished), along with the 2nd R Opening and the several episodes that led to the finale (which were all really good except the last Nakamura one) and the beginning of the S season which would have involved the S Opening and Ending, the transformation of Moon and her attack along with those of Uranus and Neptune (plus the 1st 3 episodes of S are from Ando, Tamegai and Kagawa).

So it seems most of the staff was shelved onto the preparation and quality of the new season rather than being burnt-out from the movie.
The R finale is honestly the weakest out of all the arc finales of the 90s anime (still better than those of Crystermos though).

They literally put out a clip show for Episode 89. Not a filler episode a la dinosaur but a freakin' clip show! That just how overloaded they were!
I don't think I've ever seen an anime do that. Hokuto no Ken had filler episodes from Ep.78-82 but it was still the characters remembering stuff, not just voice-overs

Yeah, that's what I meant. I thought it was cute that they remembered they were still techinally ‘inside‘ the apartment!　Apparently the rules dont apply to the Senshi tho


The R finale is really bland, yeah. It honestly looks like one of the better Nakamura episodes with some corrections by Tadano. And t he fact that they reuse a lot of the motifs from the R movie shows it was probably a really last minute rush job. It's also a shame that they wasted the absolute bop that is La Soldier on such a lacklustre finale tho
