I rewatched episode 59 thanks to the talentless fool, and this time I got some funny impressions sent to me by my mind, so I'm going to share them.

This scene of Sailor Mercury trying to get the elevator to work got me thinking: "well, you're literally inside the enemy base, DO YOU THINK THEY'LL LET YOU ESCAPE SO EASILY? THEY WISH YOU'D DIED IN THAT ELEVATOR." I mean, are you the smart one?

Sailor Jupiter: I'mma get out of here.

I loved when Jupiter got a chance to show off his martial skills. (and also being more functional than mercury).

Nothing to say about Sailor Venus, just that I noticed that Katsumi Tamegai drew a ponytail hairstyle for Venus (she also looks good with that hairstyle).

Continuing with Crystal 3 - the Mercury Aqua Mirage!
Ami got so much love in her stocks from season 3 onwards - her henshin and attacks of SMC3 are stellar, she's got the best henshin of Eternal, Cosmos gives her a very good speech and she looks the best in the Eternal fuku! :clap:

Ami moves so gracefully during these shots; she looks like a Goddess and her exposed forehead *chef's kiss!* :kiss:
The stocks of SMC 3, be it the transformations or attacks, excelled on dynamic perspective camera shots ;)
I suspect it's Akira Takahashi who animated this stock by the shape of the face but I'm not sure :ami:

I come to wonder if Toei had stayed on the night block anime format for Crystal, would Takahashi's design evolve to be even more closer to Takeuchi's art of the Dead Moon & Stars era respectively for their seasons.

Jupiter with a more taller, athletic build, Venus looks well toned and Mars well, she's burning :eyebrows:

This would have worked extremely well in a separate film with its own original story.

Add a song like Moon Revenge and you have a hit.

SuperS, as it is, doesn’t appeal to me.

Personally, I think it worked well in SuperS. Nehelenia choosing selfishness and never growing up while going into darkness. while Usagi chooses altruism and growth filling the world with light & hope [the solar eclipse going away so the sun could shine through after her brooch activated] ...... or something like that. I'm not the best at explaining things ^_^'. but I think it worked well for what the season was going for imo.

Some people love SuperS, others do not. For me, personally, the only thing that SuperS has going for it is the animation. I don’t even know how it ends.

I love the Nehelenia arc in Stars.

I saw this photo on twitter and remembered one thing that I always wanted to say: I think the sailor scouts would look good with those tiny wings on their eternal fukus, I know they don't have big wings like the ones in Sailor Moon because it would be very strange to see everyone with giant wings, and they couldn't get close to each other (and I read somewhere that the wings Usagi has are supposed to symbolize the load she carries), so why not give them cute wings that do not hinder each other? (and would imply that they don't have as much charge as Usagi).

Note: i know this is not the original pic , but whatever.

In the S Opening, Uranus displays a peculiar wind-slicing technique that she never uses nor shows during the show.

Likewise, Neptune also manipulates pure sea water at a major scale with great ease.

I wonder if these weren't supposed to be their upgrade = talisman attacks since S was planned to have only 1 Opening compared to the previous 2 seasons.

They do look in line with the idea of the Sword Blaster and Submarine Reflection (and it's not like the anime staff wouldn't create different/original attack namings in the show).

From the very 1st S episode, both the World Shaking and Deep Submerge are displayed in their Planet Orb format so these definitely weren't the attacks of the Opening.

Also, considering both the WS and DS are complementary to each other; the World Shaking represents the world being destroyed on the surface (= nuclear fusion?) while the Deep Submerge represents the world being engulfed into the depths (= nuclear fission?) - could Uranus and Neptune's attacks considered to have been unique, symbolized by the Planet Orbs and were later planned have more conventional attacks?

Could it be that's the reason why Pluto doesn't have a unique Planet Orb compared to UraNep?

The outer trio's attacks ultimately have allusions to the world ending:-
World Shaking = natural disasters in the form of earthquakes causing great cataclysm
Deep Submerge = natural disasters in the form of tsunamis causing great cataclysm

Pluto, in turn, represents what is left behind after all the tragedies - the lamentations of the dead via the Dead Scream.
Possibly why the anime staff chose the Dead Scream in favor of the Chronos Typhoon to keep the connotation of death and world's end with the Outers.

i always thought that sailor uranus wrecked that rock using a kick , now that i saw the opening on slow mode is that i noticed that the scene only show some white thingy in from her face and then the stone breaks . :haruka:

it would make more sense from the manga and crystal for the outer senshi to represent natural disasters of the world , since in there the outers are the one that invoce the one who could end the world definitely.

i also thought that sailor pluto could represent the hurricanes or tornados whith her chronos typhoon , :setsuna:, but is nice to see other perspectives.

Uranus - earthquake (disaster of the land)
Neptune - tsunami (disaster of the sea)
Pluto - hurricane (disaster of the air)
Saturn - vacuum decay* (disaster of the spatial fabric)

* Only in theoretical physics, yet to be observed.
