Each generation of artists responds to and builds on the art of earlier periods.

Artists from the post-war period deconstructed and played with pop icons like Mickey Mouse—and many artists from this period are doing the same to “Sailor Moon!”

Post pictures of paintings, prints, lithographs and serigraphs that use “Sailor Moon” as an icon or symbol. Please name the artist, year, and include the price of each work, if possible.

“Sailor Moon,” Shellie Garber, 2021, $2750 (USD)

BTW, would also like to see some AI-generated arts featuring Sailor Moon, if any. :D
Can we create a different thread for AI-generated art?

This thread focuses on fine arts only (paintings, prints, lithographs, serigraphs, collages).

“Sailor Moon with duck,“ Kalo, France.

Sailor Moon x Supreme x Louis Vuitton, serigraph, signed and numbered, artist: Death NYC

^ [Re: The former art] Would like to see more such crossovers of multiple icons. :D

[Re:The latter art] Perhaps LV should produce that sailor suit, which could sell well, especially in Japan. lol

It looks as if the yellow duck had replaced Luna as Moon's sidekick. lol
That piece was exhibited in a gallery in France (in Saint-Étienne) and a print costs $450 USD.

Not my taste, to be honest.

I still live very much in the 20th century and prefer the works done in the post-war period.

An advanced AI software can generate tons of crossover arts like that. lol

Just passing by to comment I was not aware there was this many artworks featuring Sailor Moon in it, it's surprising to me.
Clow, is it really all that common in regards to pop culture icons to have this type of artwork made?
Only examples I was aware of were Andy Warhol's, especially his series of artworks that consist of manipulating many famous people's faces.

Would also like to see the former in Renaissance styles & the latter in Greco-Roman styles.:D
That wouldn’t make much sense because we would be seeing ”a copy of a copy.”

Naoko was heavily inspired by Palladian architecture and fashion. Even Princess Serenity’s Dior dress is called Palladio.

And Andrea Palladio, the actual Renaissance architect, was inspired by Greco and Roman architecture.

I wasn't talking about the costume designs, but the paintings & sculptures of the Sailor Moon characters.
