I think it’s not a bad decision to make the castle look similar to the Crown basement headquarters - would make sense if they had the same design and architecture style (…made by whom? when?)
It just looks so bland with the colors and generic walls...
Wasn't supposedly Queen Serenity who gave the trio these castles?
Since these Castles are supposed to be specific to each Senshi to the point that they have a special name attributed to them, you would think they'd have a bit more of personality in their designs...
I would have been satisfied with some Greco-Roman architecture (pillars, halls etc) instead of a generic 2000s high-tech lab room :megaman:

They could have done a lot of things, like for example have on the upper wall an engraving/painting of the Solar System with Pluto in prominence to accentuate in which Castle we are, veils and drapes in long hallways, purple/black roses on roman pillars, a throne for Princess Pluto or a statue of her...
It's literally the only Castle we visit and like it's whatever...
So much lost potential over here...

You have read the manga, you know the amount of screentime everybody gets and you have known it for decades at this point. What do you expect and why are you still hoping for stuff that won't happen?
Because once upon a time, this reboot was a TV show handled by a competent director while keeping faithful... It's so bad for us to get hopes because the teasers are explictly teasing there's artistic freedom again? I mean, that's being heavily implied with the extended scenes and nods to the 90s.

I wouldn't. I mean keep them in check. Sure, be hopeful, but not too hopeful because in the end people start hating excessively. At this point you know roughly what to expect, so do not expect too much. New director doesn't mean much - I mean this director historically replaced Kon at least once to finish a project, so this might be reason he was chosen. Let's be realistic...

Geez. We praised so much the attention this reboot gave to Hotaru, and now we risk finishing it with she barely appearing?
I really hope that's just a lazy move from the marketing team.
The movies have the lenght they have... ( they should have more minutes, we all know how awful the pacing of Eternal was ) and they need to put everything that happens in the manga in it. They even haven't animated outers henshin/speech sequences... which is awful to me. They have already added scenes so Pluto and Saturn will have a longer screen time but it's not realistic to expect them to have lots of screen time... the lenght of the footage doesn't allow it sadly.

Let’s wait and see. A good director would establish such a peculiar, new location and show different angles of it. And if you look closer, there are pillars (or pilasters) in the background. I agree that the atmosphere is a bit flat (all brightly lit) but the project has not the biggest budget and it’s easier to draw and color.

I wouldn't hold my breath for it.
It's just like what happened with Eternal - the first trailer showing us lots of beautiful and polished stuff and the rest of the teasers setting us for a fake appeal of the end product that revealed to be very bland :nope:
A lot of stuff happens in Stars and it's THE arc that shouldn't have been adapted into a movie format but what can you do when Sailor Moon doesn't sell anymore and you've got one last arc to adapt?

Fans are not asking for a complete rewriting but just some fleshing out and a last time to have fun when seeing our favorite characters.
Some well-deserved add-ons on a 30 year old manga about questions that we will never have answers to because the author is too lazy to come up with said answers and too high up her horse to think her work needs any twerking.
Unlike manga lovers, not every person is keen of using their imagination to fill gaps/misses in the movie after they have watched it - it's not up to me to imagine that there are actually hidden beautiful rooms in this Palace that we will never get to see. :P
I wonder what in this high-tech lab room was borrowed back in Eternal to upgrade Sailor Moon

I remind you that this is THE LAST ARC and the Inners & Outers, who have acquired a form that by normal instances isn't possible since they had already acquired their logically optimum 'Crystal' level, don't do nothing in the whole arc (except Mars/Venus that go phishing for info to only get killed like amateurs) :kero:

You do know that there is Precure section in the off-topic section right?

Anyway this trailer is kinda underwhelming. We got our hopes high but it seems Saturn and Pluto’s part are still going to be small. Using footage from eternal is really cheaaaaaam. Can’t wait to see all manga’s weak point on a big screen.

For years dream arc was everyone’s favorite « because it deserves to get a full adaptation, it’s dreamy and full of princesses and horses and castles »… Well we know how it ended, and even manga fanatics don’t really like that arc anymore. With Cosmos, every manga flaw will be like highlighted and people are going to realize that it’s a badly build arc which embodies Takeuchi’s weak writing with a ton of new characters and concept that lead to nowhere.

To me, the Dark Kingdom and Makaijuu arcs from the 90s and Infinity from Crystal is what aged well from Sailor Moon to me. I think the Dark Kingdom arc in the manga is pretty nice too.
However, S and Stars do look worse and worse to me over the years. SuperS and most of the manga were never something I cherished, so I just don't care.

All senshi except Moon will have a small part in the movies xD
Listen I am still trying to understand where they were going extended scenes?

It's like reading book than watching a movie adaption.Than getting upset that the movie adaption is doing the same as book did.Evan though they never said they were going do that in first place.

Besides, there's something Takeuchi got right; she didn't make Hotaru transform into Saturn to fight Galaxia. Saturn (along with SM) could be a competent opponent Galaxia would've struggled with, Naoko knew that, that's why Hotaru was killed in her civil form in the manga (even though Saturn had already been mocked by Nehellenia and the Quartet  ). That means that in this reboot Saturn has been treated like dirt twice just because some fans want to see a transformation sequence and her "powerful" attacks.
