Besides, there's something Takeuchi got right; she didn't make Hotaru transform into Saturn to fight Galaxia. Saturn (along with SM) could be a competent opponent Galaxia would've struggled with, Naoko knew that, that's why Hotaru was killed in her civil form in the manga (even though Saturn had already been mocked by Nehellenia and the Quartet

). That means that in this reboot Saturn has been treated like dirt twice just because some fans want to see a transformation sequence and her "powerful" attacks.
It wouldn't have been a problem if Saturn DID have a good stand-off against Galaxia in Charon Castle (but I doubt it) and still died.
Pluto doesn't seem to be using any stock either so I suppose Galaxia surprises her, Pluto tries to block Galaxia, Saturn returns from somewhere of the castle (for whatever reason), Pluto dies before Saturn's eyes and Saturn attacks, attack fails and she dies...
I mean they are already making Galaxia and Sailor Moon go Super Saiyan fight and giving Galaxia a Saint Seiya Heavenly Wheel attack so...?
I can understand the budget is quite tight but then they should have simply done a better job from the very beginning to make Sailor Moon profitable from the start.
Why choose a format that is absolutely detrimental to the plot with a total runtime of 160 min = roughly 8 episodes instead of a whole season of 13 episodes?
When fans talk about extended scenes they are talking about the girls
still getting killed, the plot
still following everything than happens in the manga but just that everything doesn't look and feel so vain and without payoff.
Things like Jupiter and Mercury actually putting a fight and pushing Seiren to her limits, the Inners having a conversation between themselves about the current situation and showing their personalities & dynamics, the Sailor Deaths scenes actually having more weight with perhaps additional scenes of them in civilian beforehand etc.
I don't know what's so difficult to grasp about fans now complaining when the staff are purposely baiting the fans by pushing out these trailers, tricking fans into believing that the Inners and co. are gonna be actual characters in the first movie and not canon fodder.
People who are gonna watch these movies are not exclusively manga fans, there are the 90s anime fans (that these trailers keep baiting), the casual Sailor Moon fans (who 90% of the time don't remember anything from the manga), the new Sailor Moon fans (who haven't read the manga) etc. so I don't see why people are in the wrong when they complain they are getting mix signals from the staff via these trailers.
