Watching the digest video again, I think SMC1-2 wouldn't have been that bad, if every episode had been like Act 1. Not excellent like Act 25, but every frame is above average.

My problem with Crystal season 1-2 was never its poor animation(not that much at least) but its lacking script and bad directing.

My feeling before playing any episode of SMC 1 - 3 is that "It's so tiring, I've read them in the manga" but once it's played, I can't stop it. Unlike SME, I can't watch any sequence for too long.

I like season 1 , and while some things should been handle better (Like sxs and episode 12).I still enjoy it and now it feels nogstilga.Looking at the digest video.
I remember when I was waiting every episode release to download them on my cheap laptop

I admit I only watched Eternal part 1 2 two times, they made such a mess with its pace that trying to follow the plot actually tires me out lol. Part 2 though has more rewatchibilty in my opinion

Probably yes. But still I would be mad at them for adding things like the SenshixShitennou ship and for cutting most of the comedy and characters like Rei's granda and Unazuki form the first two arcs

He got blacklisted from Discotek or companies in general?

I think the got blacklisted for all companies in Japan since he is not working for any of them anymore....? Seems he is just doing stuff from European companies. I think he also got blacklisted by Tsume ( french company who made the official big resin Super Sailor Moon figure approved and supervised by Naoko ) cause he was working in the second figure ( it was supposed to be Mercury ) as a main artist ( he is credited in the first figure ) but I got some internal comments that he was not working in that figure anymore or something like that. A figure that should had seen the light of the day years ago anyway but nothing happened after... seems like all European companies have trouble with the SM license at one point or another.

It's basically what could happen to Sid. He is an amazing artist and I love his work and vision for Cosmos ( his poster is x100 times better than any poster Toei will do for Cosmos ) cause he is also a fan so he suffers when " bad " direction or poor work is made towards it. But anyway, as a grown up adult, you should know that making these statements online in public will close you a lots of doors from companies because none like to see their workers posting criticism about them openly.

Is he brave? Yes. Will he suffer consequences from it in his carreer? Yes.

Even though a I don't like the SenxShi, it needs more episodes to get a right development. As for Rei's grampa/Unazuki.... they weren't so relevant to the plot. It never bothered me they were omitted, especially Unazuki, in Crystal.

Including Naru, Umino, Motoki and all the side characters roo would be such an inspired choice from their part ..meaning it will never happen lol

And even a cameo of the spirits of the Four Heavenly Kings (like PGSM Special Act did for them) since they were cut from Eternal.

Crystal 1 should have been be 26 episodes at least. They could have used 13 epsiodes as in between fillers to develop the girls and build their friendship(and Usagi's falling in love with Mamoru) while the other 13 would have been the faithful ones to the the manga acts.

I wish we had two flash back episodes of the silver mellinuim.Showing the lives sehsie, shitenou.We Princess Serenity and Endymion batting.They could have made sxs scenes.Showing each couple and what kind thru are.It is what it is, but if we ever did many years later get a reboot.I would like that.

When I was watching the digest I just kept thinking how miserable it must’ve been for the person who made it to have had to scour with a fine tooth comb to find enough ‘decent’ animation to fit a 6 minute video (we all know this is Toei’s misleading tactic for promotional videos)

Anyway, it’s been 9/10 years since this crazy ride first began. I honestly can’t believe I was 20/21 when this reboot was first announced, just starting university and now I’m 7 years into my career and almost 32.

This reboot took way, way too long.

I enjoyed watching the digest and I like that they are not pretending S1 never happened. It’s a good reminder of all the things that didn’t work. the character design was not animation friendly and bot versatile enough, the storyboarding, sceneries and backgrounds too basic, bad writing and pacing (exept for act 5) and bad directing decisions.

If there will ever be another animated version of the DK arc, it better be based only 1/3 on the manga (incl. casablanca memory) , 1/3 on the 90s anime and 1/3 should be fresh, creative and original.
