Isn't Cosmos adding scenes that weren't even in the manga
I'm sure there are a few, but I'm not expecting a whole lot. I'm still excited, though. For some reason they didn't allow them to expand the scenes and story much. Possibly because of the rightful backlash in season one with the awful Four Kings thing.
I'm personally for more scenes that fill in the blanks, but sadly we didn't get that in Eternal, so besides the short Pluto and Saturn fight and an added scene where the Star Lights take the fall to protect Kakyu, that's about it from what I'm hearing.
OH! And there was the added scene before the wedding, where we get confirmation of a few other survivors, so that's something. But overall, it will still be almost beat for beat the manga.

I know one thing, the next reboot they have. They better give Neptune her fluid hair. I'm about sick and tired of every time she appears and flips her hair nothing moves and they better stop giving Rei random strands that appear out know where too.. Hehehehe.

I really don't expect anything but I like to joke around and toss it out there to see if the universe will pick it up.

We could get a live action....I mean they've messed with One Piece.... although I don't trust a live action version of Sailor Moon in their hands...you never know that them folks have planned for the future...
oh yes I always loved Neptune’s hair. It’s so pretty and wavy and the way used to flow with the wind.

It is common knowledge that Takeuchi gave Makoto powers association to both thunder, based on Jupiter/Zeus and nature, based on the Japanese kanji used for Jupiter.
I don't need to go do 'research'.
If you knew that then why did you give those awful name suggestions? LOL anyway, I don't wanna start a flame war or anything. I said my piece. Bottom line: don't be rude.

Takeuchi's attacks were also random English words stitched together (attacks that she also conveniently never drew/conceptualized their execution nor explained).
The only times she was ingenious was for Iron Mouse's and Galaxia's attacks and that's it.

Even Maker's ridiculous attack could have easily been changed from Gentle Uterus to Gentle Womb.
Or she could have and letters to Womb and it became Star Gentle Wombat....Maker's New Spirit Animal.

Actually in terms of sense..the Starlights attacks...

Star Serious Laser: is there a variation of this attack that is more laid back/casual?

Star Sensitive Inferno is my favorite but it really made me wonder what was going on when she performed it. What exactly is a Sensitive Inferno? The two don't go together. An inferno is something out of control and deals with fire but Sensitive Inferno appears to be electrical and not sensitive at all because it kills the target which looks painful..lol.

Star Gentle Uterus was the most bizarre. Saying things centering around sexual organs. I'd like it if it was called Star Gentle Creator or Star Gentle Rebirth or something like that.

It sounds kinky to me, tho. :mischief:

The Starlights' attacks naming principle seems to follow an emotion (Serious, Sensitive, Gentle) + a... component? (Laser, Inferno, Uterus).

The Sensitive Inferno is the weirdest sounding one, considering it's Healer's attack.
Wouldn't Star Serious Inferno and Star Sensitive Laser make more sense?
Unless, Takeuchi wanted to play on the opposites but then the other 2 don't follow this rule.
And neither does Healer show any sign that she is a type of paradoxal character to embody both the virtues of Sensitive and Inferno.

Kakyuu's attack also makes no sense - the Royal Straight Flush, throwing cards at opponents...
In hindsight, a tarot card based attack would have made more sense for the Twins duo since they are kind of the 'watchdogs' of Galaxia's territory.

But I'll say that the Kinmoku Fusion Tempest is probably the most beautiful and professional panel Takeuchi ever drew

Even the Japanese kanjis of the attack are badass - 桂花百花繚乱 (Riot of the 100 fragrant olive flowers or Emergence of the Olive Maidens).

See? I can say nice things about Naoko too :mudkip:

Don't forget adding Crystal Tokyo as the background behind Sailor Cosmos making the poorly-conceived character even more confusing and nonsensical.

Because Coconut sounds stupid and comes out of nowhere :P

And Naoko Takeuchi doesn't lurk on this forum, to whom am I being rude?
If only Naoko read all the things that you sayed

She probably wouldnt understand a single word ;)
, however i like so much your explanations about the attacks , i wonder why mercury have , mercury aqua mirage , if she doesnt make any mirage , at least that her only mirage effect is made us think that her attack is useful when it really does not do nothing (only for manga and crystal)

Ikuhara speaks and read English compared to Naoko...and even responded in the Empty Movement forums, he said that the fanartists draw better that Chiho Saito and he has a positive view of Naoko.

One of the good things Crystal 2 did was give actual illusion properties to the Shine Snow Illusion.

Then again, what are the differences between the Shine Aqua and Shine Snow Illusions?
In the manga, there is no illusion involved, they are just normal water/snow attacks so why the inclusion of illusion in their names?
Similarly what is the difference between the Shine Aqua Illusion and the Mercury Aqua Mirage which are, in naming, basically the same?

What is cool about Mercury in the manga is that she manipulates all forms of water - the gaseous, liquid and solid states.
Moreover, considering she 'would' be the physically weakest Senshi, the fact that she would use camouflage tactics and illusion to compensate an actual super cool idea... but that never happens in the manga.

The Aqua Mirage could have been an upgrade to both Aqua & Snow Illusions and combining the 2 techniques, involving Mercury creating snow and water doppelgangers of herself that would attack or confuse the enemy.

Crystal could have tried to give different battle tactics to the girls instead of making them the biggest losers of the Galaxy but oh well...

The brazilian portuguese translation of the manga translates the "serious" in the attack name as "implacable", which I think suits its meaning better.

Also "gentle uterus" became "gentle womb", still sounds a bit odd, but mostly in that it's a deadly attack with "gentle" on its name lmao

By the way, while I was geeking out about astronomy the other day, I started reading about neutron stars/pulsars and, maybe the starlights' attacks might have inspiration from these sources? Both visually in the Cosmos teasers and from them being attacks with "star" on their titles.

"Star Serious Laser" in Cosmos, for instance, reminds me a lot of scientific simulations of pulsars, which are highly magnetized rotating neutron stars that emit electromagnetic radiation beams from their poles, looking a bit like disco strobe lights lmao.

Those stars are extremely more dense than any object in our solar system, and if those radiation beams so much as scratched the Earth, it would burn it to a crisp. I think it also makes sense as how the Starlights' attacks are able to kill off the animamates, when the inners and outers can't so much as scratch them.
