Well, on the same financial reports you mention Toei states that SM is one the least performing of their big 5 franchises in the West in the last few years

Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than Digimon.

Domestically & Internationally.
Sailor Moon Eternal did pretty much the same internationally as domestically, $2-3 million per quarter.
Interestingly, during the following quarter, it performed double internationally around $5 million if I remember correctly.
In their latest financial report, Sailor Moon performed only 172 million on Japanese soil, the weakest out of all their major franchises.
Then, again compared to Sailor Moon, all of these other series have tons of new content being produced
