Well, on the same financial reports you mention Toei states that SM is one the least performing of their big 5 franchises in the West in the last few years
Fixed.

Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than Dragon Ball.
Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than One Piece.
Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than Saint Seiya.
Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than Digimon.
Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than Slam Dunk.
Sailor Moon doesn't perform better than Precure.

Domestically & Internationally.

Sailor Moon Eternal did pretty much the same internationally as domestically, $2-3 million per quarter.
Interestingly, during the following quarter, it performed double internationally around $5 million if I remember correctly.

In their latest financial report, Sailor Moon performed only 172 million on Japanese soil, the weakest out of all their major franchises.

Then, again compared to Sailor Moon, all of these other series have tons of new content being produced :P

And now if someone from Japan buys the Blu-Ray of Cosmos, why they can't rip it on the Google Drive and show it to overseas fans?
Please... this is exhausting. We have answered you this question several times in the last months. Or you are just trolling or you can't understand adult things properly.

Maybe the Japanese subscribed to Netflix to legally watch Eternal back then (dunno if Netflix is available in the country, but even if not, there could be ways to get around that so that they could still watch it somewhat legally since they'd already paid for it)? :)
No, Eternal was not ( and I think still isnt? Maybe it is now ) aired in Netflix Japan. That's why they made the DVD/Bluray version so they had to buy this to watch the movies. It's basically how the market works there and they get the money. Since they dont pirate/watch illegally they have to buy stuff trough official ways to consume that product.
Both movies have been up on Netflix Japan since August 2021 so two months after the Blu-ray/DVD release.

Because everyone in Japan who wants to watch the movie will buy the DVD / bluray as quick as possible, not to mention there are extras for them in various stores. Why do they need to share on the Internet?
Thinking about it: The discs will be displayed at the front lines in bookstores on Tuesday evening, like how Harry Potter was displayed in book lauch events. Anyone can grab it after work.

Maybe some foreign fans in the country would do that as a goodwill service to their compatriot fans overseas? lol

No Japanese will rip the blurays and put it online, that's super illegal in Japan and you can face big legal consequences.
The ones who will rip and leak them online will be non japanese.
It's also something related to ethics and moral. Japanese society is taught to not do such things.

Although the Japanese are now fond of Western AMV's...

My forbidden peer-to-peer file transfer protocol is ready!! I don't care if Netflix does/doesn't have the distribution rights. :mischief: What's the big deal?

The blu ray is region free. You can purchase it from cd Japan all around the world. Someone will leak it on day 1 and that’s why this decision to not release it before here will make them lose money. Plus the blu ray comes with jp subtitles. It will take just a min to get a automatic translation. But I don’t care anymore. Less than a month to the release now.

It used to be very common for Japanese people to upload stuff on trackers, but I think around 2012 Japan started taking stuff way more seriously and there were extensively covered in media cases of people uploading anime on trackers that got hefty jail-time there, so I guess it stopped around this time.
