Except it doesn't work that way, and certainly not some 30 years ago...

At best, if her physical or mental health was greatly affected, she would have gotten 1-3 months rest top. The only way the manga would have gone on an indefinite hiatus would have been if she was hospitalized and therefore incapable in any way shape or form to write and draw.
She made a short story in the middle of Stars, but I think that hiatus is not enough for her to recover from upset(and probably bargaining with TOEI and Bandai) and she expressed that in her artbook notes, I think three months would be enough for her and the manga and compilation quality might recover from her issues.

A news just days ago for your reference:

Sexy Tanaka-san, Sand Chronicles Manga Creator Hinako Ashihara Dies in Apparent Suicide

Not sure how similar was Takeuchi's situation back then, but anyway she didn't commit suicide because of that. :)
I like Sand Chronicles...RIP.

Shout! Studios, Toei Animation Announce Distribution Deal for Digimon Adventure 02 The Beginning Anime Film

So the new Digimon film had a North American theater release little over a month after Japanese theaters and Sailor Moon’s international fans are still waiting for even a morsel of news half a year later?

Reeks of behind the scenes drama, as usual for this franchise. It couldn’t have anything to do with PNP, right?

Well...... Naoko is always the good one here because she's a woman, asian and the victim of those vicious executive men of the industry.......youknowwhatimean...........

I admit, Naoko is at times an asshole...and unoriginal.

Naoko never had any other of her work animated while CLAMP Campus Detectives was animated by Bandai and they also animated within the series Man of Many Masks and their original doujin in that anime, while we never had Maria or Cherry Project animated.

In any case, just read some of the artbook notes, you can see the comments there that she was not happy in some of the changes in Stars.
She told an entire audience here in the U.S. in 1998 that she was not happy with Stars and wished that more animation would be produced through OVAs or films.

I hope Cosmos made her happy. I believe it did. Apparently, she was working behind-the-scenes with the animators.

She was present throughout the creation process, including dubbing.

I'm disappointed with Cosmos in a sense, some of the changes.
When Usagi throws herself into the Cauldron, we see Cosmos in the process, and nothing in the film.

Sailor Moon is the only anime I actively follow these days so it's always 'interesting' to read about the drama other franchises may be going through.

One part that caught my attention were the lack of communication between the director/writer and the mangaka. Made me raise a couple of whiskers.

Correcting myself:

Shoujo is a difficult genre and it’s difficult to pitch a romantic story to a studio... especially nowadays.

“The Rose of Versailles“ works because it is historical fiction and presents a romantic history within the context of the French Revolution… and it has some violence, I hear.

Geez, look at that left arm. She was really busting out the worst anatomy until the last few panels, huh.

Is HoF the title of a new online game or what? :P
Is it possible to create new forum titles with this ? Instead of Stella, Aurorae etc… I would be interested to apply
Hater of the Franchise is fine, but I would also apply to "Food Purveyor to the Poor Princess Children", considering the money I spend in this franchise in the last 30 years.

Coming back to the subject: this Digimon movie release announcement is another proof that there seems to be a specific problem with PNP more than with Toei.
