My imagination? The queen must have jumped in to go see Guardian Cosmos, she didn't die in the fight against DK. Eternal Sailor Moon jumped in the cauldron. The silver crystal didn't belong to her, it was originally her mother's. So the mother must have made a deal with GC.

To be fair we didn’t see her die in the fight against the Dark Kingdom in the manga. We seen her using the Silver Crystal giving the spirits of the Princess and the Senshi to the future.

That's right. Nothing is said if she is dead or not. She could have stored her memory in a device, like a USB key but remained alive afterwards. Like King Endymion with his 3D image.

I was also thinking about how Guardian Cosmos asked Usagi if she wanted to start a new history for the galaxy. We know Usagi did not. What if Queen Serenity did and that’s how we got the Silver Millennium? Maybe Queen Serenity fought off her battles from her Galaxy (Nehelenia says Queen Serenity wasn’t from the moon) and and she was led to the Galaxy Cauldron and ended up in a situation similar to Usagi but chose differently?
