I’m on my phone so I can’t type a full review my here are some thoughts/ a stream of consciousness. I’ll post something more concrete later on.

It was a bit of a mixed bag.

There was a huuuge over reliance on stock footage. I was getting really tired of seeing the same old attacks being shown over and over again by the end. The SenshixMoon fight was literally JUST stock footage, no action whatsoever and it was really disappointing. The group attack also looked really cheap.

Did they really have to use still flashbacks from Crystal S1?! They should’ve reanimated them. Also reusing clips from Eternal felt cheap.

Sailor Cosmos got a transformation and it was lame.

Pluto got new stock footage and it was.. meh.

There was a nice scene of Sailor Moon flying around the palace dodging Galaxia’s attacks. That was nice .

The last 15 minutes was also really nicely done. It was nice they added the bit where Usagi goes back to her family and I may have shed a few tears.

Why did Toei literally spoil the whole movie on Tik Tok tho? It’d be OK if there were other standout scenes they left in for the movie but outside of a couple here and there.. we basically saw all the best parts.

The epilogue was also really nicely done, I really liked it.

Ms.Mitsushi really did a great job voicing Usagi. You could tell she really put her all into it. Megumi too. Definitely a highlight.

The music sounded better than in part 1. Still the same old boring digitised choir but I felt the BGM suited the scenes well. Nothing I’d go back to listen to but serviceable.

The pacing felt better after the halfway point.

I think the director had some good ideas but it was let down by the patchy animation.

Thank you for your feedback on the film.
Regarding Sailor Cosmos, a viewer said it was Neo Queen Serenity (so our 20th century Usagi), right? Do you confirm his words?
Because in the film, Sailor Cosmos would have said: that NQS obtained the Cosmos power in the 30th century.

I've understood the hint about Sailor Cosmos being Neo Queen Serenity is visual (in flashbacks when Cosmos explain her story).

Sounds good. Season III had issues but wasn't terrible so it is nice to know that Cosmos does a decent job considering the source material. I'll be a bit more lenient with the reliance of stock footage because of the budget constraints and the director doing the best he could with what budget they had.

I think this was a general favorable review.

If NQS is Sailor Cosmos, I wonder where is Sailor Chibi Moon? I hope she's safe.

I’ll get the bad things out of the way first:

I’m not really sure why there needed to be -so- many goddamn transformations and stock footage attacks. It’s be one thing if all of the stock was done well but, well, it’s not. The fact that the entire battle between the evil Senshi and Moon was literally them just going down the line firing attacks at Moon/Chibs was really so anti climactic. I was hoping for something akin to S3 in which they actually fight, but no, they just stand in a row doing nothing like something out of an old turn-based JRPG :P The stock footage really messes up the narrative immersion when it happens so frequently.

The animation was.. what we have come to expect from this reboot. My main gripe was that whole nothing was super-off model they might as well not have Settei/a character designer because the style looks different it almost every scene. Usagi and go from looking gorgeous to derpy to moe in the space of 5 minutes. When Miho and Iwata draw her she looks gorgeous but the rest of the time she’s all over the place.

Also, FLASHBACKS. We don’t need a recap/reused footage of something that literally happened 10 minutes ago! It makes sense for a weekly TV anime to do this as a refresher for the viewer but in an already short movie it just felt like a cheap way to fill up time. Especially when most of the flash backs of old enemies were just stills ripped directly from the previous movies/seasons. And this doesn’t just happen once but several times.

Some of the storytelling was really confusing. Like, why does Sailor Moon lose her wings and her Eternal Tier breaks only for it to magically re-appear in the stack footage 2 minutes later? There’s no scene of them regenerating (from what I can recall?) Maybe I just missed something but it all seemed a bit pointless.

Also, why is it that Kakkyuu and the Starlights get one hit K.I’d and yet somehow the Amazon Quartet have invincibility?

I also find it strange that the Starlights and Kakyuu despite being the main plot points of this arc and just completely forgotten about the moment they die. They deserved more than that.

Also poor Artemis, unlikes Luna he doesn’t even get to appear in the finale..

Thank you, yeah basically everything confirms that NQS is Sailor Cosmos and that Cosmos is not a reincarnation of her, or an descent (descendant).
Well, we still need to see Sailor Cosmos flashbacks about her battle with Sailor Cosmos.

We've just heard this information from other people leaks.

Really?

The promotion for Cosmos focus a lot on the Starlights and Kakyuu. So, I expected we will discover what happened with them at least.
Considering the script is written by no one other than the person who works on Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, this is so weird. He also did Eternal and it sucked.
Why is it so hard to adapt the Sailor Moon manga now?

@Jawshx Just double-checking here, was Happy Marriage Song used for the scene after the credits?
