I don’t know why they are suddenly promoting these. They are exactly the same that were published several years ago, with the sleeve and the booklet that has some interesting informations btw.
They were already sold at the SM store when I went there at the beginning of the year. I guess they have nothing new to promote these days so they are trying to feed their social media pages.

I know it's been a while since I asked on another thread, but if anyone's got Season 1, part two of the japanese blurays, there should be come character sketches on each episode, I'm looking for DD Girl III's sketch, her head is so far the only one not accounted for in Monster design settei lists and I saw a low-resolution pic a while back that showed this booklet having it.

If I'm not wrong, at the store only the 90's + movies on Blu Ray are available. Where are Crystal Blu Rays?????? They have disappeared into thin air..... as though Crystal hadn't existed....

If you want me to buy your ridiculously overpriced DNR-infused masters BR at 2 vols per season (which gets you ~15,000 X 10 = 150,000 yen for a whole series!), at least attempt to woo me with some new Itoh original illustrations.
I'd rather go get those expensive Coloso lessons instead, that'd be a good investment lol
I don't know perhaps if you give me 10 new illustrations with Itoh's iconic aesthetic and composition, I might make the jump.
It's so weird that they've kept using those same illustrations ever since 2003 now when Toei does give new designs for their other series.
Heck, it seems they even managed to win Michie Himeno's favors back (to some degree) as she not only returned for the Saint Seiya BR Covers giving us 6 new illustrations but she's also back to the anniversary Myth Cloth line giving us stunning new art and it seems Himeno has become the de-facto official illustrator for the Japanese Saint Seiya line.
Surely, their relationship with Itoh is not that sour, unless...
That just like with the international releases, Hime wants to veto every new illustration the 90s Japanese series may have and nobody wants to go through that.

I don’t understand either. Itoh is the real legend of the original series, not Tadano. She is the one who elevated the original style and made it gorgeous. Tadano was fine but honestly her last episodes in the OG series were MEH. An she has near to zero participation in the Eternal or Cosmos movie besides settei and some artworks (with debatable quality btw, these cards they gave… well, sold with Cosmos tickets were absolutely off model).
Well at least Itoh appeared in that Italian convention some months ago, and talked with Marco (she even gave him a Tutu shikishi), maybe it’s a sign she is willing to be somewhat associated with the SM franchise ?

I think Tadano contributed a lot to the Classic season.
When you look at her illustrations namely those with the whole group, she is able to naturally sell the 'fantasy romance' vibe of Sailor Moon.
Tadano's main fault, I think, is that she never was interested to surpass her level and become 'a new star'.
When you look at Wedding Peach, she again is able to marvelously sell this pure 'anime' shoujo aesthetic.
However by R, her level greatly falls down and the great hurdle of the R movie was without doubt a major contributor.
Which again might have played a big role in her stepping down from character designer and from the series altogether because she was comfortable with just doing what she was good at (which was really good!) but not transcending herself while Itoh was going all out.
Her designs on Etermos are... bland to say the least...
And just looking at her design work on the Yu-Gi-Oh! series... yeah it's not good... at all.

Lady Pen you are a HATER how DARE you suggest that they are ashamed to sell this masterpiece that was Crystal S1-2 while the truth is easy to understand: they don’t sell them because they are all SOLD-OUT due to massive success.
