In this thread, we shall discuss the Sailor V manga.

The very first chapter of Sailor V starts with … Minako falling in love with a boy named Higashi, a transfer student.

Love is a recurring theme in the manga because, as we will find out as the chapters progress, Minako falls in love a lot and she wants to find love.

Minako decides to wear a big red bow in her hair (her iconic bow) to make herself attractive to the guy she fell in love with, the transfer student. However, it turns out that Higashi, the transfer student, is a monster. He wants to hypnotize girls and turn them into zombies. Minako is hypnotized by him, but luckily by the time that she is hypnotized she already can transform into Sailor V. She transforms into Sailor V and uses her compact to destroy the monster.

By the end of the chapter, Minako is already in love again.

Minako’s friends:

• Hikaru: Ami’s “prototype.” She goes to a cram school and gets excellent grades.
• Amano: Umino’s “prototype.”

Interesting fact: In the very first chapter, Artemis shows Minako her planet, Venus, as well as her castle, the Mangellan castle. Both Venus and the Mangellan castle will be mentioned again in the last chapter of the manga.

this is not about the first chapter , but since here we can discuss the entire manga , then here i will drop a question.
Minako had that curse of never finding love , since the silver millenium or since she was reencarnate on earth?

A strong character, a handsome man born on Minako’s planet and who bears the same mark as Minako on his forehead… he was not happy with the idea of Minako falling in love with Kunzite during the era of the Silver Millennium.

We’ll talk about that later.

Natsuna Sakurada is the chief of police and she orders everyone to catch Sailor V… because Sailor V is making the police look bad.

The reality, though, is that Natsuna is a fan of or supposedly has a crush on Sailor V.

She wants to find out who Sailor V is to offer her a job to work with the police! She discovers Minako’s identity and befriends her.

The manga ends with Minako considering to accept a job to work with the police, a job offered by Natsuna Sakurada herself!

I like her clothes , those earings too, she is a fashionable police officer , Naoko really does know how to put aesthetic in the clothes when she proposes it , i would like to see that outfit animated.

Also i never thought that she was in love with sailor v when i read the manga the first time , i just took it as admiration but everyone can have their own interpretation and ships of course.

Also another question , Natsuna is not the police officer that falled in love with the same guy as minako in that episode of the season 1 of the 90 anime , right? i have always look at them as whole different persons , but just making this question to make sure.

Nope, Natsuna is not the same character from the 90’s anime and nor does she have a boyfriend named Alan.

Minako does not travel to the United Kingdom, either. In the manga, she travels to China.

Minako’s mom

Minako‘s mom is this very mean lady who is always shouting at Minako and calling her husband “a failure.” Poor Minako goes to bed almost crying because the TV stopped working. Minako is sad because she cannot watch her new idol, Pandora, on TV. Minako’s mother shouts at her, angrily: “Shut up about the TV! That’s all I hear you talking about!” To make matters sadder, Minako’s new idol turns out to be… a monster. Amano discovers the idol’s plan, but Sailor V saves the day.

Anyway, back to Minako’s mom. Minako tells Artemis to be careful around her mother. She will sell Artemis if she finds out that he talks, Minako says. How cruel! You should always be kind to all cats.

2nd chapter:

The arcade has the new Sailor V game! Minako can’t believe there is a game about her! She just wants to play the Sailor V game quietly and have some fun, but a creep starts bothering her. Minako assumes he is the new enemy and kicks him: “Sailor V kick!” But the creep was just a random guy. Both Minako and Artemis run away. A confused Motoki believes that all he witnessed was a publicity stunt…

Chapters 3, 4, 5: Damburite, the Dark Agency… and the Dark Guys??

Our main villain is introduced: Damburite! He is the fifth General of the Dark Kingdom, but we don’t see him interacting with Beryl and the other four generals. Damburite controls the Dark Agency, an idol agency. All the “idols” turn out to be monsters who wish to suck up the energy of their fans. Because Minako is always chasing idols, she inevitably ends up getting into trouble—along with Amano and Hikaru. One of the Dark Agency’s idol groups is an idol group named “The Dark Guys” and the three guys look identical to …

SUMMARY I

• Natsuna Sakurada discovers Minako’s identity and they become friends. Natsuna has a lot in common with Minako because she, too, loves idols. Minako refers to her as “big sis.”
• Sailor V achieves “idol” status. Soon, though, Sailor V has to compete with a new idol: a mysterious man who wears a mask and kinda resembles Tuxedo Mask, Kaitou Ace.
• Minako obviously falls in love with the Kaitou Ace guy, but Kaitou Ace’s true identity is Damburite—or the fifth General of the Dark Kingdom.
• Minako slowly begins to recover her memories: she seems to sense something when she is close to Saitou (the Kunzite look-alike guy). “I have met him before, but where?” she wonders.
• Motoki knows absolutely nothing about the secret location in the arcade where Sailor V and Artemis meet. Minako and Artemis also communicate with “boss” through Minako’s magical pen.
• ”Boss“ tells Minako what she must do as Sailor V, but the identity of “boss” is not disclosed. I believe that Luna is “boss.” Luna has access to the control center just like Artemis does.
• One of the monsters that Sailor V defeats looks like a cat-humanoid being. Sailor Tin Nyanko prototype?
• “Boss” identifies unusual activity in China.
• It is revealed thar Kaitou Ace/Damburite will be starring in a Chinese-Japanese film and will hold a contest to find a supporting actress…
• Minako and Artemis decide to travel to China alone, even though Natsuna offers them bodyguards.

Saitou is a juvenile delinquent. He went to the same middle school as Minako, but he is a “rebel” who claims to be wasting his life. Saitou confesses to Minako that he had love feelings for one of Minako’s teachers, Ms. Okamoto. She teaches home economics.

Minako uses her compact and disguises herself as her own teacher, Ms. Okamoto, to fool Saitou.

Saitou kisses Minako thinking he is kissing his teacher. Saitou also tells Ms. Okamoto (Minako in disguise) that he has always loved her.

Saitou looks like Kunzite, but the real Kunzite only appears to Minako as a memory during her transition from Sailor V to Sailor Venus.
