I always think the character designs of Crysternal should've been more akin to the manga - if they've already decided to produce a 1:1 adaptation of the manga, why not doing that in the character designs as well?

LOL. I don‘t say it‘s a good design, but at least it was stronger, had more personality. In the Eudial and Tellu episodes it looked best.
Sakou‘s designs were also not stellar. The eyes were the biggest problem and I‘m also not a fan of her body/fuku proportions around the hip/waist area.

I do not like Eternal that much and Sakou were flawed, but Akira's were abomination unimaginable. If this was nott adaptation of the Infinity arc I would have never watched because it looks awful. It has two good looking episodes simply because the animation directors added detailes and tuned down the ugliness, but comparing designs alone, not animation and takes from different animators, I cannot see any how his are better than Tadano's.
Okay first let me say that this is a very nice job considering it's totally fanmade, congratulations to him/her. Special effects and BG are nice, it was made with passion and this aspect deserves to be praised.
But honestly... this is all I dislike from Takeuchi and a living demonstration that her designs don't work at all when animated (as if Crystal S1-2 were not enough). It just enhances all Takeuchi's problem: weird body proportion, disarticulated body, soul-less eyes, tiny mouth with ugly lipstick... Eyes are too close, and it looks like her body has pain to carry her legs and arms that are soooooooooo long and not articulated.
Takeuchi's style has some charm in manga (well I even own the infinity artbook so I must somewhat like her work, please give me that credit), but that doesn't translate well in animated form.
Oh yes, this clip is totally faithfull to the manga style for sure, but such a festival of cheeziness and eye-destroying anatomy. I think it made me somewhat like the 3D transformation from S1-2 lol.

I see season 3 as a progress. In season 1-2, designs were meh (at best) and execution was absolutly terrible. In season 3, style is not everybody's taste but execution is standard TV quality.
Eternal is one path further to the 90's style and seems to be the middle ground for most of people, so I really hope they will keep that style.

Some they ruined my "husbando" reasons. But why do we need to know that in the first place. As for Michiru, while she looked mostly great in all versions, I remember the 90s as the only medium having some hideous outfits on her.

Isn‘t it lame? It‘s their birthday and they look pissed or stoic. Is anyone buying this stuff with over and over the same art?
