Anybody else thinking of doing some sort of a live discord group call while watching the movies for the first time? It would be pretty cool, I have always wanted to do a group Sailor Moon watching of a sort- never got friends that are fans though.

Todd Haberkorn (Viz Jadeite) is the director of the English Dub:
Oh boy.........he's lucky to still get work.

Nothing on Pegasus yet, which will be the most important casting question for the English side.

Why is it a question? Does it mean mean they might had recast him for some reason?
Yeah

To keep it short, both Chris (Pegasus) & Todd had some major heat with people over stuff that was revealed about them two years ago and well, while Todd seems to have kept his career somewhat, Chris has been losing roles since with other people replacing him in sequels of shows & video games that he was already cast for (though in one game's case, he also broke NDA with Nintendo replacing him months after it's release through a update patch).

I wonder if the VA for Hawks Eye kept his role or not since he leaked Netflix's involvement.

World Shaking is pretty dope, unless you watch it frame by frame.. The effects are great, but once the camera zooms out it looks like my 3.5 year old daughter drew it. I won't focus on those things, but they could have made it somewhat professional... This is def Deen's work. But with most of it looking good, I doubt anybody would be too bothered.

I am not hating on it, we have seen much worse, but still....The close up shots of Uranus look flawless and it suddenly switches to this. Still love the dynamic and the feeling of power it evokes. Still I cannot lie - it kind of looks like they got the story board rough sketches and colored them...
They all also have the balls of energy hurtling towards the enemy at the end like the 90’s. But dare I say they look even better than the 90’s version. Something to look forward to!

This is nitpicking to the max.. close up shots are detailed because they’re the focus of the shot. Characters at a distance are almost never so detailed... because it’s a waste of time for them to be detailed on a shot that seems last two seconds at most.

Its not just that frame… you can perfectly see that her full body is drawn really basic in these medium-full body sequence. The close up look really great, the best ones for me ( said it day 1 with the first trailer ) but yeah, outers sequences lack frames ( neptune specially ) when it comes to movement of their bodies and they look cheap and stiff. Happens with Uranus, Neptune and also Pluto ( just talking about their body/head in full shots ) The effects are really well done tough. And inner attacks for Part 1 look better overall when it comes to drawing of medium/full shots of their bodies. I guess all this is because Part 2 was rushed and made trough the pandemic while Part 1 wasnt and its more consistent technically. Something already noticeable months ago.

These 3 attacks in the 90s anime are trully amazing, close, medium and full shots. The best animated footage attacks in the old anime I would say.

Exactly. It's a frame from a movement sequence, not poster artwork. Can we stop nitpicking frames for the 999999th time already?

It's about time.

I personally hope that it's a big hit for Netflix and encourages them to invest/express interest in whatever the next season/arc we get is. I know it's been said time and time again here that money isn't the core problem behind Crystal/Eternal, BUT, more money can sometimes lead to more time dedicated to a project, so it certainly couldn't hurt to have more investors.

I'm not too offput about Uranus' attack but Neptune's skirt looks oddly flat in hers for a few moments. I don't care, though. I just want to watch it!

Well it is not a frame and it is not noticable for a split second. It gets worse. Of course you cannot expect a distant shot to be very detailed, but I think they went a bit too far with the simplification. But like I said, this is not hating.

Simplification and “badly drawn” are not the same things. You can draw Uranus with 1 line and make it still look dynamic and harmonic and look like her. It all depends on how you draw it. I wonder if the chief animation directors don’t see what we see or if there’s only not enough time to correct those things? I hope Netflix involvement for Stars can buy the production TIME

Ironically, there is no creditless OP for Black Moon OP in Japanese bluray. And the three creditless OP. ED of Dead Busters are in DVD, which has much lower quality than bluray.
I believe there is creditless OP of Black Moon in English release (VIZ), but I'm not sure.
It's not on the Viz set either but they do have it since it was used to add their English credits on the dubbed episodes for Hulu.

And i think they are the only ones that got it, because france and italy used dark kingdom op for the whole series.
Italy too huh? I remember the French dub not having it plus they also had the fixed-but-not-quite-finished version of Act 14.

Yeah, they almost definitely didn't have enough time to correct the whole thing throughout. They focused on the close ups, the most important parts, though. I really hate it when people use terms like "derp frames" on sequences with a ton a movement like this version of World Shaking.

Could it look better? Sure. Did they have the time to redraw a bunch of frames when these movies were probably rushed? Doubtful. Does it look good *in motion*? From what we've seen, yes.
