Wait, so what does that mean? Did they take the S3 transformations and just touch them up with new coloring? Or did some fool actually COPY the numbers from the original into the next one??
What a joke. The movies are so confusing when it comes to QC and appearance. Some stuff looks the best it has probably over the course of the entire reboot, and then there's stuff like this. Sheesh.

While in SMC 1 - 2, they overdid the QC that sometimes they wrong the right. They filled the transparent spaces between Usagi's hair, or made Tuxedo wear an apron.

Yes, right. It has been on the season 3 one too and most of us have seen it multiple times, it is 5 years old. Honestly it is not such a big deal...

I can deal with derpy frames since they're hard to notice without pausing or slowing things down (or purposefully looking for them) but this is so sloppy. I'm guessing since it's digital art it's highly likely it's even on a separate layer, so it would have been easy to get rid of it. But then again, I would say (even as a fan of the series and movies) that 'sloppy' sums up Crystal/Eternal's execution pretty well.

If you know it is there though, you do not have to pause to see it. This is interesting and it is way better compared to the completely off model key frames and goofs in Crystal. It is just something I cannot believe how got transferred from s3 to Eternal, though. More curious than something to criticize.
Well, the movie made it into the Top 10 of dozens of countries on Netflix and made Sailor Moon one of Toei's most profitable franchises this year overseas.
I hope Toei takes that into account when releasing budget for the next project, or Netflix injects money into it for it to look better than previous Crystal installments.

Crysternal always had some gorgeous shots, even in season 1. The right shadows and lightning can do wonders. Some of the talent shines through, but the overall quality is still struggling. It always looks best in the darker moments, and feels flat on the comedy stuff art-wise. Like act 12 it is horrible and the Usagi killing Mamoru/suicide scene is awful but it looks great visually. The rest of the scene looks like amateurish mess.
