So is Caos Galaxia's design based off of Buttress from the Stars Myu. This musical's first performance was listed as August 5, 1996 before Star's finale. I haven't seen the stars manga but when I looked up 'manga versions of Black Galaxia' nothing appeared but anime stuff.

I was gonna say why you couldnt find anything about black galaxia related to the manga , but i realized that it would be a spoiler , so no.

I started seeing an awkward clown video and then ended up , seeing a clip of robot chicken , a family stomping some random fox plushies and a video of panty and stocking ....................................( not that i am impressed , i watched robot chicken since i was like 10 or 11 , so thank you , yuyu yuichiro , i needed that video in my life , lol , dont care about this comment , i am just kidding)

I think that Usagi needs to be called to the NBA : MICHAEL JORDAN POWEEEEEEEEER , MAKEEEEE UUUP.
I have nothing to apport to this thread , so i am just gonna fly away like Usagi did .:usagi:

It's obvious. Igarashi stuck with some Naoko's notes (in one of them Naoko said Galaxia would become Sailor Chaos once her bracelets got shattered). So, it's obvious he chose Buttress design for Chaos Galaxia.

Takuya Hiramitsu (who was in charge of Sera Myu in 1994-1998 / 2013-2017) was a great influence. I love his Sera Myu eras. He knows how to blend perfectly the manga and the anime, apart from exploring some concepts.

Yes, I would like that, please. :smug:
Here you have it:

I had to go to the premiere of the Sailor Moon S musical, but I also had a lot to do in my studio. In the next chapter, we'll meet Venus' first love. 'Namikimichi no Koi' (Love on a Tree-Lined Street) was my favourite story from the 1993 Sailor Moon musical. I loved the music; I listened to it a lot in my favourite cars. I went near the Tree-Lined Street in front of the Aoyama cinema (Tokyo), and I felt like creating this story. In the musical, Nana Suzuki plays Sailor V (Shall we all go out to eat together? :keke:::love::). Obviously, my favourite [character] is still Tuxedo Kamen in the song 'Bara no Himitsu' (Secret of the Rose). The character was portrayed by Yuuta Mochizuki!!

8/26/94 Naoko Takeuchi ::love::

Wonder what her favorite cars are - she should've been more specific.

Wow. I'd like to add something more.

I've been reading the musicals pamphlets these days. In all of them there's a Naoko's message. She was so excited with each musical, not only that, it's her favourite version of Sailor Moon.

But what I wanted to add to the list of influences of Sera Myu on the franchise is what I found in the Amour Eternal pamphlet. There, Naoko says that the wonderful world of Sera Myu, with its catchy songs, the sparkling choreographies, and the addictive magic of that world (the Sera Myu atmosphere) was the inspiration to make the fourth arc in the autumn of 1994. ::love::

Now I understand why she chose a circus as the new villains. Maybe she thought It would fit in the musical format. Perhaps the Three Lights were singers because of it too??

It's crazy because the manga, which is considered the original version was heavily influenced by its adaptations (90's anime and Sera Myu) and not the other way round.

I’m new to some of these things. Curious about this. How did the 90’s anime influence the manga? Only thing I recall was Act 15 having a callback to Rei and Mamoru dating because Asanuma mentioned how Rei would be Mamoru’s type of a girl to date.

An anime that only exists because Takeuchi created her manga story, an anime that had constant filler explicitly to allow her to continue her story so they could adapt it, an anime that adapted the arcs and characters contained in her story... that anime wasn't influenced by her story? Peak Sailor Moon Forum™ take lmao.

A manga that had 4 extra story arcs thanks to the success of an anime that adapted some plot points of the manga.

What are you going to say now? That the remaining seasons exist because they were adapting a successful manga? The manga continued because the anime and especially the toys were a big success, more than the manga. And if you don't believe this fact, go and check Nakayoshi.

But that was not my point. My point was that due to anime's influence (because Naoko loved the 90's anime, by the way) from act 6/7 onwards, she started drawing the Sailor fuku skirts shorter, Usagi's odangos rounder leaving behind those flat odangos of the first chapters, etc.

Take a deep breath. Nobody here was attacking Naoko Takeuchi.

You don't need to answer those questions because I'll skip your message (you'll go to my ignore list now) because I don't want to participate in your Lady Pen Hunt game you been carrying out for months just to get the likes of Memento, Seira and some of my nemesis here.

I was referring to the aesthetics. For example, some illustrations Naoko made for Nakayoshi's supplements had some of the famous poses of the Senshis we see in the anime, or how Naoko was changing the way she drew the characters in Nakayoshi's version of the manga.

Actually, the magic of Sailor Moon is the symbiosis of the manga - 90's anime - Sera Myu that shaped the phenomenon it was and how they complemented one another. In this case it's so interesting that the love of Naoko for Sera Myu led her to inspire and ' establish the basement ' for the Dead Moon arc. :keke:

Oh ok I see. Cool to know that she used elements of the 90’s anime and musicals for some of her art and drawings. Guessing that she did that since the 90’s anime was probably the most recognizable part of the franchise globally at the time.

While Naoko scrapped that from the plot and killled off the Starlights due to her issues with the anime staff during the run of the stars.

Nelke fixed the manga issues although they still did not have the other eternal upgrades, I feel that if Crystal continues being a series it would be similar to the Nelke plays.

That the running periods of the manga, anime, & musicals significantly overlap each other provides many opportunities for their mutual influences, unlike many other cases of adaptation in which the original manga has already finished its running (long) before it's adapted into other media. :)

That is interesting!

Now, I'm imagining if the Dead Moon was a theater group instead of a circus and the members were based on stereotypes.
The Madonna-like lady in shadows in command, the Phantom of the Opera couple, the blond over the top hime-sama character, the overweight joke character who is the MVP, the flamboyant male 'prince' character etc.etc :P

Exactly. Actually you cannot separate the manga, 90's anime and sera myu (1993-97). However, then you can see how sera myu (1998-2003) and the 90's anime influenced on PGSM and the latter on Crystal. There's an interesting symbiosis here I've only seen in Batman & Star Wars franchises.

Oh ok I see. Cool to know that she used elements of the 90’s anime and musicals for some of her art and drawings. Guessing that she did that since the 90’s anime was probably the most recognizable part of the franchise globally at the time.
Also, you have the Casablanca Memories story. Naoko was inspired by the 90's Rei seiyuu to write and draw such tale. Source: Her comments in tankobon volumen 11.
Naoko also said in such comments how she had the voices of the 90's seiyuus in her head when she was writing the manga. Apart from that, they're friends in real life. :)

Then you can see how she abruptly changed Usagi's and Minako's personalities in the third arc story ( Death Busters ). They became so similar to those of the 90's anime and Sera Myu.

I bought many songs from the tribute album when it was available on iTunes back in the day. The first song I bought was Tommy‘s cover of “La Soldier.” It is perfect. :megaoh:
