No idea about the exact amounts, but I think it did make enough money, otherwise there wouldn't be so many produced over the years.

Apparently, there's this part in one of the short stories where those characters say "Its Chou Very Bad" Which is a Song in Sera Myu Stars

The translator notes also said the two girls are basically a toned-down stereotypical portrayal of "Kogai" who said to be vapid, ditzy, sexual and willing to sell their bodies to get their hands on the latest designer brands, jewelry, etc. I'm not sure if they have anything to do with each other. That song really sticks out among the rest and I don't know the exact year both of these were released so putting them here.

She's also pretty well-drawn, shown prominently, & in her S version (!) in that poster.

It looks more like a picture book w/ card-like thick pages & rounded/safe page corners for very young children to me - Memento is an expert on Sailor Moon picture books, so she may confirm about that.
