I know this sounds weird but I don't see the harm in doing something a little silly like this. Kousagi could finally get an animated form after so much years and we can see how fans inside and outside of our series and old and new fans would respond to this story never told. They could also have the chance on expanding from the manga like on the side, we can get more into what older Chibiusa and Hotaru are doing in their school life alongside the Quartet or we actually see who the husbands of the original four sailors are. It can still be a story separated from canon so why not do a strange opening where Minako talks to the audience and confirms it's an alternate universe like the first page in the manga but maybe extend it

I think the senshi children of the original cast should be more distinct. Not criticizing on Naoko but I personally think they should be just as different from their parents as Kousagi is from her mother and maybe even shift out the names a teeny bit. For ex. Mako and Mina might have two letters cut from Makoto and Minako but Rei and Ami I know their juniors but they all are too much of the same it's as if we are in the past where the senshi are kids.
I think it would be nice as long as it's kept as a small and solo story.
