I understand being upset over this, but I think we need to remember two things: first, from what I've seen, the "entitled jerks" are mostly confined to this forum. In real life most fans are looking forward to Cosmos and enjoyed Eternal, even Crystal has improved in reception because casual fans watched the fixed version. Second, other recent Toei theatrical releases such as Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero and One Piece Film: Red were shown across multiple countries all over the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia. Not every single country was included, but it's not like they only release them in wealthy nations, during the last couple years Toei has tried to increase its engagement with developing oversea regions.

I would say that if those people go to see Cosmos on a big screen, they would once again prove just how foolish they are as they would be giving money to the woman and series they hate so much just so they can continue to write their delusional complaints in this tiny corner of the internet. Don't forget that the majority here is but a microscopic minority of the actual audience; most audiences are likely to enjoy the films and it'd be nice for them to experience it all in theaters.

Also, according to IMDB, Poland did get theatrical releases for the One Piece and Dragon Ball films in 2022, so it's very possible for Cosmos to get a theatrical release there as well.

According to IMDB Turkey got theatrical releases for One Piece and Dragon Ball in 2022 as well, so with that information it doesn't seem that impossible...

I get your point, however it's a bit different for Eternal because those films didn't deviate from the manga at all, so there wasn't really anything to spoil. But you are right in general because Cosmos did add a couple new things and revealed just about all of them in its promotion campaign. I still think that most casual fans won't mind this as they probably haven't been following all the trailers and teasers.
Yeah, both of these were in my country as well which was weird as we never get even big massive anime films. Comparing Cosmos to these though is unfair.

Oh yes! I just remembered I saw Dragon Ball trailer on the cinema. I wonder if these anime movies were aired on Japan in first months, then aired on other countries. Or aired in the same time? We can predict something according to these.. Tbh I just want to see asap on Netflix or cinema.

Netflix Latin America responded to love.moon's reply to asking about Cosmos and they responded to shy hands. I think they know about the international release but keeping it a secret for now until probably the announcement of Cosmos DVD Japan Exclusive that Netflix Anime will make an announcement of Cosmos worldwide release

I am hoplessly inept at understanding emojis, what does shy hands mean?

What about fans like me.Who is happy is on theather.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think that an American theatrical release of Cosmos would be limited. Cosmos just wouldn’t be able to compete with Hollywood’s blockbusters. I would expect to find Cosmos in film festivals where they show independent films from all over the world and/or in select theaters only.

Countries like Brazil and Mexico do have a tradition of releasing their own films and Asian films theatrically. The Thai horror film “Shutter” (2004), for example, was theatrically released in Brazil and other countries and it made $6,986,486 globally. We don’t have a tradition of releasing foreign films here, so Hollywood remade “Shutter“ and released it as an American film.

The Dragon Ball: Super Hero film was released in Japan in June 2022, and then released in other countries in August and September 2022. France got it on October.

One Piece Film Red was a bit different, it was released in August 2022 in Japan and Australia, as well as several other countries in the following days, and then got progressive releases in other regions throughout the rest of 2022 going into January 2023, with most of these taking place in November 2022.

Could be. In my experience with Toei movie releases, including the aforementioned anime movies but also live action films like Knights of the Zodiac, they show the films in commercial theaters but after the premiere the showtimes become limited and you have to do a bit of planning ahead to catch them.

You might be right. However, I got to see Sailor Moon R but it was as you mentioned limited to certain areas at the time. I was actually surprised it was in my city as I was expecting it to be in the really huge cities like Los Angeles or New York...but my friend called me up and said Sailor Moon R is here at Cinemark and I was like Girl, hush... But she was telling the truth and they had two versions in the cinema. One you could watch in English and the other one was original Japanese subtitled. They also included Make-Up Sailor Senshi.

However, I also heard they did a nationwide showing of it in the US alongside Sailor Moon S for like a day or two but I didn't get to see that... #Annoyed.

TImes have progressed slightly so I'm sure it will be show in more countries now. As I mentioned I would prefer dual showings but I'll deal with what they do. I don't really care much for the cinema as I have a projector but I would go for something big for me, like Cosmos.

It's really interesting either way for them to release it in theaters. To me that is at least some sign they are somewhat confident in its success.

Shy hands can mean several things depending on the context. However, anxious is not often regarded as good feeling. Being anxious is being worried.

The shy emoji could mean that they don't know or are uncertain of the release date but it could also mean something else. Ive used it and I've seen others use it as a means teasing/trolling information. I'll say something and someone will ask to clarify and I'll do the shy expression as way of keeping the major details guarded.

I'm at least 50/50 on their usage. They know something and did the shy face in a playful way because they know they can't outright spill what they want but are giving hints, and when fans ask to clarify, they act all shy about it, hiding behind excitement with a "Just wait and see..." expression.

I know I am repeating myself, but if the film is released theatrically worldwide and it makes a lot of money, then all the parties involved (NT + TOEI) may decide to give us more Sailor Moon.

Meaning Cosmos is actually the beginning… and not the end.

So I believe that Netflix knows about the international release of Cosmos and playing it off as we don't know. I think they will give the release date soon hope the recent strike didn't delay the dubbing of it

Netflix has released some of their movies in cinemas for a limited release before they hit streaming. They’ve done it with Glass Onion, Bird Box.. etc. And the movies were up on Netflix about 2 weeks later.

I understand that some countries don’t get that luxury but for the ones that can, it’s a nice treat for the fans. I don’t think waiting a few extra weeks to allow for a limited theatrical screening is a big deal.

Edit: Also we don’t even know if that’s their intentions anyway. That tweet could have been hinting at a one off special screening at a con for all we know.
