Question: Why do people use "Cryseternal" or whatever when "SME" or "Sailor Moon Eternal" would be just as clear?
it sounds like someone gargling whenever I read that lol
A pretty simple answer: "Crysternal" refers to "Crystal"+"Eternal", whereas "Crystal" & "Eternal" refer to the respective shows. Mathematically, I could use a set diagram for illustrating that, in which the intersection between the sets "Crystal" & "Eternal" is "Crysternal". =^_^=

I mean can you imagine if the show was called something Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal Eternal Season 4 The Movie Part 1....
Well, they'd abbreviate "Crystal Eternal" in a typical Japanese way to something like "Cryeter" (pronounced as "kurieta" in Japanese).

She does have input but TOEI does not execute her ideas well.

So you meant they deliberately sabotaged it, like discontented, boss-hating employees in an organization? :cthulhu:
Yeah, I think TOEI does not want the reboot.

That makes a very interesting theory, :mischief: which's worthy of a fan fiction on the Sailor Moon franchise itself! :D
And have a worthy sequel of how the PQ Angels manuscript was lost. :googly:

I think TOEI was forced to adapt SM just because of the money it can still make and not because they want it and I think Takeuchi blocking the licensing of Sailor Moon in the 2000s might had effects in the franchise and TOEI has moved on.

Idk. Toei is definitely more interested in the money they can make (as they should) from the series because no company can survive or even needs to invest in a failed project.

It's most likely a money issue, which may be a reason they had partnerships with Deen (maybe).

There is a contract between Toei and Naoko's publisher, etc so it's more probably like creative difficulties.

Sailor Moon certainly isn't Toei's highest earning franchise but it earns enough to keep it relevant I suppose.

I find it interesting that despite the show saying it would stay faithful to the manga, some of the shock horror in the manga was toned down and has been since Crysternal came into existence.

they seem to lack passion in it compared to the 90s.

I don't think they really have passion on Precure either - they just keep it running indefinitely. And seeing its other current key franchise productions, anime & tokusatsu alike, they also don't show any really strong passion other than keeping those once-successful production/business models operating for eternity (if that'd be possible).

People use "CrysTernal" because of Toei's mismanagement regarding the reboot anime. I agree that it sounds like somebody is gargling.
I'd prefer "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal The Movies: Eternal Dreams"
